Longhi's - Lahaina Ratings and Reviews
Meh! Entirely adequate. Menu was limited. Service was good...not great. Food was fine, but not exceptional. Drinks were an "A". Not oceanfront...barely oceanview. Simply adequate. Not bad but any means, but nothing to write home about. Would be worth it for a few $$ less per plate. Bottom line: They seem to feel a little overly proud of what amounts to a decent location on Front St.
The meal started out well the appetizers were excellent. Then the entrées came, there was eight of us three of us ordered the same thing, the fish special. Mine was raw! So I sent it back and 20 minutes later another piece of fish came back even more raw. The server seem to Just blow it off and we had to request to be taken off of our bill. To say the least the experience was disappointing
After reading a lot of negative reviews, we were hesitant, but liked the menu, so we chanced it and were very happy we took the chance. Our experience and dinner was only positive. Food was delicious and service was great..
I highly recommend this place and ignore the recent negative reviews..
Very disappointing experience. By far the worst meal on our trip. Longhi’s used to be a great restaurant but not sure what happened since here last. The food is just ok, but for the price not close to being worth the money. The service is horrible as our waiter forgot our salads, never poured wine for us, and they didn’t clear some of the plates. The bathroom was disgusting which means the kitchen probably isn’t much better. There are plenty of other choices in Lahaina that you’ll be happier with.
Wow has this place gone downhill. Time for a massive massive renovation. Same interior for 30 years. Dirty old chairs and tables, vinyl floor peeling, dirty walls, old and tired. Will never return until they update this place. Charging a fortune to eat there yet it is old and dirty.
We have made dining here an annual Christmas tradition. The view at sunset is wonderful, and the service is typically excellent. The food is a little expensive, but we like it as well as the outside feeling and view at sunset. The valet is also a great deal since parking is at a premium in Lahaina.
Extended family and I visiting Maui for Christmas and looking forward to a nice dinner out. We were seated on time for our reservation... however took at least 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order and another 20 to get them. The food was average. The service left much to be desired. The waiter seemed overwhelmed.
The restaurant was not full or busy but the hostess was turning people away at the door unless you had a reservation.. wonder if management knew about that?
I would not recommend this restaurant anyone. It got great reviews on Yelp which is why we picked this restaurant. However rated , they must have had a very different experience??
daughters past under cooked by quite a bit, spaghetti with clams had no flavor - too much liquid, waiter was very friendly but had way too many tables to serve anyone properly or to check on our meals - too busy serving owner or a VIP, older hostess was having a bad night or should retire
Not what it used to be. Still a great ambience just not THE place any longer. Closer to Bubba Gumps than Mama's. Lack of attention to details on orders, dismissive staff and barely average quality of food have moved this meal from a must-have while on Maui to just an o.k. fallback.
If you’re coming to Ka’anapali Beach, a dinner at Longhi’s in Lahaina should be on your list of restaurants to visit and eat. Terrific food, wonderful and attentive service. We done there each time we visit Maui and Lahaina. We also recommend Longhi’s in Whialea. *
The steak was lukewarm when served. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm. The asparagus was lukewarm. My husbands meal was lukewarm too. This place has gone downhill. We won't go back. We used to always eat here when we came to Maui & had great dinners.
Poor Bob Longhi must be spinning in his grave. His iconic, beloved, Maui mainstay restaurant has steadily gone downhill since his passing and no one seems to care. It was sad to see only a few people in the place on a Friday night at 8:00, but not surprising since the food is nowhere near as good as in its heyday. It's now mediocre at best. Very sad
We’ve been coming to Longhi’s for over 40 years. Food is always excellent (although they took Longhi’s Shrimp off the menu but our server made it happen). The reason I couldn’t give them 5 stars throughout was because they were “out” of Crown Royal. Seriously?? My husband had deferred his evening cocktail planning to have a Crown (only thing he will drink) at the restaurant. The manager did comp him a Pinot Gris at my suggestion, but he doesn’t even care for wine and only drank half of it I really think it’s totally unacceptable for a restaurant to be out of Anerica’s most popular whiskey. The ABC next door has Crown, guess we should have brought in our own bottle. The other downside was that we weren’t told it was “Jazz night” when we made the reservation. Even seated as far from the band as possible it was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. Longhi’s is my birthday tradition and if it hadn’t been for that we probably would have gone elsewhere.
The pizza bread and my salad with the vinaigrette were excellent as was our macadamia nut pecan pie. My salmon entree with a mixture of capers and kalamata olives was very disappointing. The salmon with its toppings was slightly over cooked, and was literally swimming in olive oil,
drowning out any other flavor. My wife ordered the mussels in marinara sauce which
I sampled was fairly good, but not great. Both entrees were overpriced given their quality. Contrary to some reviews I read beforehand, our service was excellent. Although my choice as to whether or not I would recommend Longhi ‘s was limited to a yes or no, I would give it a “maybe.”
What a disappointment! Longhi has deteriorated over the last few years and is no longer a Maui gem. We were there on Thanksgiving day for dinner. The place was half empty but the service was very slow and the unfriendly staff seemed disinterested and bored. The food seemed to come from a cafeteria kitchen with lousy presentation. My wife's salmon came with nothing (!) (what about a little pasta?). My shrimp dinner consisted of 4 unpeeled shrimps resting on a little heap of rice without any garnishing. Combined with no ambiance this was a total waste.
