I am a fan of Alden and Harlow and have been many times - this was my first time at Longfellow. They inside decor really looks great, but upstairs I found the tables to be too close together and I did not like that the two toilets are so visibly and near the tables. The menu is interesting but small - when we came for lunch they were out of 4 of the dishes which made for even fewer options. If I were to come back, I would sit at the bar and eat there. The food was fine - empanada, tuna crostada, etc. but not out of this world.
Bartender was fabulous. Drinks delicious. Location to near by parking lot great. Ambiance very inviting. Most of the 6 appetizers we ordered were very good. Nothing was outstanding. The mortadella sushi bite was awful (and I’m a huge mortadella fan). The "empanada" was bland (it had so much potential, maybe an off night in the kitchen?). The Rangoon was very good as was the tuna tostada. Over I would absolutely recommend. We will go back for a second try.
Rude and odd service throughout. No one really spoke. Upon entering three staff members just stared at us, I had to be the one to initiate the conversation. The strange and overall cold service continued at the table. The burger was ordered medium but came out well done. The rest of the food was okay, but the service was so bad. Such a surprise as Alden and Harlow is a favorite spot of ours. Just a really weird experience. I would never go back to Longfellow.
beautiful spot, delicious food, and unique drinks.
Load and very salty food. Alden and Harlow is a favorite but this place is a miss.
We had such a special experience during our second visit to Longfellow. We were able to sit upstairs as requested and had a table near the bar. The cocktails were on point and the food was absolutely to die for. Particularly, the short rib kifto, tuna crudo, root vegetable molotes, and hipon (like a fried wonton Thai shrimp) were out of this world! The service is also outstanding. The staff knew we were there to celebrate my husband's graduation and took special care of us. We so appreciate it and will be back!
The food was delicious and filling (be sure to check with your server about the size of small plates since some are much smaller than others). The drinks were incredible and we loved sitting outside. There just happened to be a street performing duo next door so we had some lovely music as well!
We were disappointed by our visit to Longfellow. We went there excited to try the new place but the service was not customer-friendly, was slow, and not at all appropriate for a restaurant of this caliber and clientele. There was nothing special about any of the four dishes we tried. We sat upstairs where the bar area is really beautiful but the space is very tight so you need to be willing to share your discussions with the tables next to yours. It was also very loud and bright on the second floor, and really dark around the tables on the first floor. Maybe the restaurant is still trying to define if it wants to be a a cool, hipster place based on the design only or a student place based on the servers' attitude and general vibe and patrons. We will not be returning to Longfellow.
I brought three gentlemen to Longfellow this past Saturday as part of a bachelor party, and we could not have been more pleased. The cocktails were interesting, delicious, and refreshing, and we ordered 11 dishes off the menu, 10 of which really blew us away. Our favorites were the wings (the blue cheese sauce was particularly remarkable), the deviled eggs, the pigs in blankets, and the lamb dish. I also loved the shrimp egg rolls. Only the short rib dish was underwhelming - we found the cardamom in it too overpowering. The service was outstanding, and we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable our meal was. 10/10, would visit again, and recommend to friends.
The service was outstanding, but it was too loud to enjoy and the appetizers (we went there to cocktail) were interesting in theory. Too self conscious. I'm not seduced....
It was great! 2nd time there; food and service was consistent. The food is fresh, tasty and outright delicious! This is my new stomping ground. Thank you!!
Great food and drinks. The service started out great, but by the end of our dinner, we were sitting with empty plates and glasses for way too long. We wanted to order more but after all that waiting we decided it would better to head somewhere else. And when I say we waited too long, it was a good fifteen to twenty minutes of waiting.
Loved it! Food was great as was service and cocktails!
They don't give you silverware, because all the dishes can be eaten with just your fingers (but you can ask for silverware if you desire). I went there to try their version of Rellenong Hipon. I wasn't disappointed; definitely my favorite dish of the night. Great, honest service from Wellington who didn't steer us wrong.
Great atmosphere, food, cocktails and service
I came for dinner on a Tuesday night and had a great time. We sat upstairs (such a gorgeous space!), drank delicious cocktails (my personal favorite was a gin drink made with peas—sorry I forget the name), and had great food...I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a pretzel so much! Plus all of the staff was so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Longfellow is a great place and I hope to come back soon.
Long wait even with a reservation.
Fun place for creative drinks - knowledgeable wait staff - eager to tell you all about the complex drinks. A bit loud at times, so not a place for intimate conversation.
We were celebrating our friend's birthday and we all had a great time. The only reason wrote 4 instant of 5 stars was because people didn't love their drinks. I had the dirty martini which I really enjoyed but 3 of the 5 of us were more experimental and none of them were really happy.
Food was great. Wait staff could be kinder.
Food was terrible but definitely a nice spot for drinks.
Wonderful night with top notch service sitting at the bar
Have been to their other sister restaurants and food great. Very surprised on the outcome of this dinner. We were a party of 5 and everyone had poorly prepared food, very salty, and even a simple hamburger arrived over salted and very well done (ordered medium). Server never returned to take new drink orders until well into our meal. I would only return for drinks for bar is really great and so are cocktails. I assume kinks will be worked out based on the success of the other establishments. But for now, not a great experience.
The menu is impossible to understand. Every item has a strange word - even the bread, which came with ‘koji butter’.
Where are my Opentable points for this reservation?
Loved the place, the service, the drinks and eats. Favorites was chicken torta sandwich - incredible combo of flavors and textures!
I was impressed with the truly team approach to the services. Anyone who walked by and saw an empty plate or an empty water glass on our table jumped in to attend to it. And, they actually paid attention to my indication in OpenTable that we were there celebrating my birthday. They surprised us with a complimentary dessert with a candle. I can't remember the last time a restaurant extended a gesture like that. Outstanding!!
Drinks were very good but food options were pretty severely limited, especially for vegetarians; I'm not sure if there was anything at all appropriate for vegans. Meeting a friend at the bar for a drink and then heading downstairs to Alden & Harlow for dinner is probably your best bet.
Amazing, creative small plates and fun cocktails! I’d recommend asking to be seated at the bar or upstairs on the 2nd floor. We got seated on the 1st floor right in front of the air conditioning vent and were absolutely freezing!!! We asked them to turn it down but they couldn’t do that much since they said it gets really hot on the first floor. Wish we had known in advance!
Service was great, cocktails very good; prices low/moderate for the quality and service. My only criticism was that we ordered a hamburger cooked "medium" and it was rare, not even medium-rare. However, they acknowledged it readily and took it off the bill, so I certainly felt very good about their response and overall quality. All other dishes were excellent. Some plates are smaller tapas-style, some are a full meal, so that's worth checking when ordering - we had way more food than we expected! Noise level is very high, but many people seem to like restaurants that way. Make a reservation, it's busy and popular.
Fabulous new craft cocktail bar in a beautifully refurbished space. Cocktails tend towards edgy/bitter, but the bartenders are on their game and can make you a beautiful version of anything you can name off the menu.
The dining area was surprisingly loud
Great menu and ambiance, very friendly waitstaff! We'll definitely be back to visit this place again soon.
Worth it for the drinks and ambience, but do not eat dinner here. The food had too much garlic and salt, some of which was inedible. The best thing we ate was the homemade bread and butter. The burger meat was too spiced and the tuna crudo was so salty that it tasted like nothing else. But great cocktails and wine! And great space.
Food was ok, drinks great but the service needs work.
Hostess and waitstaff leave a lot to be Desired
Great flavor combinations, attentive staff, on point drinks
Tasty food, great cocktails in comfortable, hip lounge environment. Can’t wait to go back.
Alden and Harlow is my favorite restaurant and so I was very excited to try Longfellow! The food was delicious. I love the concept of finger food and it was delicious. I highly enjoyed that they gave you wet naps to clean your fingers at the table. The drinks were just...ok. Which was disappointing because the cocktails downstairs are just so good.
Really great updated bar finger food menu. Enjoyed the ambiance, very trendy - felt very west coast. Only issue was the breeze from the door coming in and out but overall was fantastic service and great food!
Food and drinks are excellent. The space itself is very attractive. Service is excellent, with one caveat that is out of the servers' control. The big issue I have is the place is too crowded. The lower floor is packed and extremely noisy, and the upper floor is also crowded though less noisy. This adds up to making it rather unpleasant sitting at most of the low-top tables across from the bar. There are some many people waiting without seats who end up standing over the diners. Sitting at the bar is much better. They should switch to high-top seating across from the bars. the other problem is that there are so many people standing and just drinking that the bartenders are really backed up and it takes forever to get your drink even if you're sitting at the bar.
