My first dining experience was much better than the second. I hate to say that in all of my years of dining all over the world I have never sent my Main course back. A short rib should not chew like meat jerky.

Upon receiving the Elk, I was very satisfied and I thank you for expediting that. Formerly working in a high end kitchen long ago I understand the frustration, so thank you for being kind.

The Ancho Chocolate Cake was decadent! Thank you for the card and the dessert. I will certainly return and spread the word to anyone that comes through Knoxville. Job well done! Thank you for making my birthday special on such a dreary night outside! Cheers!

Beautifully presented dishes. Wild game options bring this restaurant into the top tier, in my opinion. Food was cooked to perfection. Elk tenderloin was divine. Hamachi tostadas were ok. Lobster hush puppies were quite good. Bison ribeye was great, but maybe a bit too over-seasoned. This was a very good dining experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I am from Texas and was visiting Knoxville. I have always wanted to eat at one of Tim Loves restaurants, but I live in Podunk. It was a treat! AND... love the beautiful Hammersahl steak knives!!

I think LD would be an excellent place to have your employer pay for a meal or group event where it is more about the space than the food, and I admit the tapas items were the best of our meal. I would not recommend as a romantic evening for two foodies to enjoy elegantly prepared wild game.

-Fettine Trio: Highly touted by the menu and website but honestly it was pretty lack-luster. Unique idea but in all honesty Boar's Head is no better or worse.

-Rattlesnake/Rabbit Sausage: Probably one of the few truly game flavored items we tasted despite our efforts to order as robustly as possible on the unique items. This item is served tapas style so order accordingly.

-Elk Loin: Ok so up to this point the portions, with the exception of the Chili were very small. The Chef totally reverses course on the mains as the portion is exactly what you would expect from a Texas based establishment. The Elk was perfectly cooked medium rare, but otherwise I have to say the accompanying flavors were lack-luster. The most disappointing was the promise on their web-posted menu for Hen of the Woods mushrooms! On our evening the menu was changed to mixed mushrooms, which turned out to be just simple button mushrooms. My overall rating of the meal fell significantly on this choice. Mushrooms are not in short supply, don't cheap out on ingredients as the Elk needed a robust flavor pairing and button grocery store mushrooms were not it.

Chef never came by. May not be his/her thing but when the restaurant has one table, it seems natural for the Chef to come by and thank the patrons and give some context on the food. No such visit. But we were asked to climb up to the 3rd floor before departing to be given a marketing speech on the restaurant's ability to hold large functions. As clear out-of-towners this was just a weird end to the night.

The ambiance was quaint, quiet and secluded. Our waiter Ray was absolutely amazing and informative about the menu. He was attentive and helpful yet not intrusive.

My only complaint would be the food- for a high end restaurant that it’s owned by a reputable chef you would think the food would be amazing. We found it to be somewhat subpar and lacking of taste. The meat was of good quality but lacked refinement in its seasoning. The appetizer though tasty lacked salt or acid to set it off. Additionally One of the entrées was over seasoned with red pepper that it made it inedible. We enjoy heat with our dish but this was overwhelming. The restaurant made it right and offered their spectacular dessert on the house and it was delicious which was a bit of a crying shame considering the rest of the meal lacked certain things… Overall I would recommend for a quaint and quiet date night, however, I would be cautious when ordering.

Server was disinterested and lacked energy. She was not empathic to 2 food issues. Bread was spongy and left over from previous day and side came without sauce and then when brought out, it was not the sauce on the menu.

Everyone was super nice and service was good, however the portions were tiny, the prices were high, the main course was cold and lacked flavor. We had the turkey and cornbread stuffing, with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was their Thanksgiving entree. Maybe other items are better. I also had the butter lettuce salad, which did have a good flavor, but was small. Lastly I had the ancho chili chocolate cake, which again was very small, rich, and just average. Great atmosphere, but not worth the price.

I was given a recommendation to try this restaurant. I enjoy fine dining experiences but unfortunately, this was not that. I ordered the elk which was overcooked. I specifically asked for rare, which it was not. The portion size for the amount of money was ludicrous. It was tiny, 4 meat nuggets with some sugar balls as a garnish. My mother-in-law had the duck which was very good. The pasta was nice and a decent portion. The foi gras elk sliders were good as well but not great. Overall, if I am going to spend $400-500 as I did on this night, I will go somewhere where the food and dining experience will be spectacular. The wait staff was fine, no complaints there.

Food was great as usual but the wine list was a little low on stock and the one we ordered needed to be decanted , which wasn't noticed until the last 2 glasses. Apart from that, all good tasted good and was well presented.
Personal prefence would be for things to be served hotter, but that could just be me

My husband and I are pretty particular about restaurants, and this was hands down the best meal and experience we’ve ever had. Jazmin was our server and everything she recommended we followed and I’ve never been happier. Their tenderloin is the best steak I’ve ever had. The drinks are amazing and compliment the food so well. Everything was above and beyond any expectation I may have had going into our dinner. We’re in town for a short trip, but I’d come back to Knoxville just to go to dinner here again. This is also the first and only restaurant where they do contact tracing and as someone who works in healthcare that meant so much to me. Just an excellent place all around. If you’re in Knoxville this is a place you can’t miss.

Another fabulous dinner at Lonesome Dove - this time as a birthday celebration. Started with a Grey Goose vodka cocktail and a Lonesome Dove specialty - The Willie (basically a Bulleit Rye Manhattan in an oak-chip smoke chamber - pleasantly sweet on the palette with a slight smokiness). Paired that up with the Deviled Gulf Blue Coast Crabs, and the Hot Quail. (A nice feature of their starter menu is that you can chose the number of servings/pieces you wish, allowing us to tailor for our appetites and leave room for the main courses). Followed with a fabulous Butter Lettuce Salad (the lettuce being incredibly soft), and then joined in with main courses of the Iberico Pork Secreto and Pan Seared Branzino. Both were awesome! Covered it all with a nice bottle of Idle Hands Syrah to contrast yet compliment. This place never disappoints !

Crafted cocktails need to tweaked and modified! Filets were order to be cooked med. rare, they came out medium with store bought potato sticks on top with a dark sauce. Not quality at all. I have eaten at Lonesome dove in Austin, TX and it was really good! Probably won’t go back to one in Knoxville
