Lonesome Dove - Knoxville
The valet parking was nice, our waitress was awesome and we enjoyed the food.
Excellent service and the food was phenomenal. Loved the quail legs and sliders.
The food was masterfully prepared, and the service was truly outstanding.
I brought my husband there for his birthday and was VERY pleased.. Thank you all for being so nice.
Excellent Ambiance and the service was wonderful! The FOOD!!! AHHHHHH! Delicious is not even the word! It was excitement for the pallet! WOW!! The seasonal Apple Cider Drink was Amazing!! We will return soon!!
As always, the food, service, and environment was spectacular. Never disappoints!
We went for our first time the other night to celebrate our anniversary!! The food was delicious and unique! Our server answered all of our questions and suggested many items that we loved. We will definitely be back!
The food here is fabulous. Service was great.
Our first visit, but it won’t be the last. The food was very good, with a unusual selection, which we enjoyed. Wine selection was good. The valet parking an added bonus. My only complaint was the speed. It was a quiet night and we should have let our server know we wanted a leisurely dinner.
amazing food and great service. very romantic lighting. try the tostadas, crab, and hush puppy appetizers! also the butter lettuce salad was maybe the best salad i’ve ever had. my boyfriend and i went for our anniversary and will definitely be back. :)
Absolutely fantastic food, service, and experience. $$$$ though.
Food was good. Service was odd or bad. I can't actually decide to be fair. One server got upset with the bartender for not providing him with change. They began to bicker back and forth. I certainly did not pay for an expensive bottle of wine so that I could listen to staff argue in front of me. Our server at our table was pleasant, but very rehearsed. Nothing personal or inviting to be had at dinner. Just did not make for an overall good experience. The food was good and worth trying, but they really need to work on the service and giving the guests that experience. This is not a cheap place to eat, so I expected better.
Amazing experience!! The staff was incredible, the food was perfection and the entire atmosphere was better than we could’ve imagined! We will definitely be back!
We go to Lonesome Dove every time we are in Knoxville. When the restaurant opened, the food and service were exceptional. As time has passed, the service has remained top-notch. Unfortunately, each time we have been for the past year, the food quality has diminishes. The lobster hush puppies, which were once a treat, no longer have any hint of lobster and are sometimes gummy in the center. The meats are sometimes tough and dry although the presentation is still nice. On a happier note, the building is beautiful .
Celebrated our 20th anniversary at Lonesome Dove and it was phenomenal. They wrote a card to us wishing us a happy anniversary and presented us with complementary champagne. They took amazing care of us, customer service was outstanding. Our meal was the best we have had in a long time. We both had the bison steaks, absolutely the best steaks we have ever had, I would highly recommend the bison. We will be back and honestly this is one of the best restaurants in Knoxville.
Wonderful food! Pricey, but worth it.
Great meal. Server was great. All staff were great. Will be back for sure the next time I am here.
Outstanding service provided by Tyler. The food was fantastic and plated very well. A great place to experience a unique menu.
Amazing! Highly Recommend!
Loved the food! Waiter was very helpful! I did receive three confirmation calls. One was at 9pm the night before. So that was a little odd. But once we got there it was amazing!
We have eaten at Lonesome Dove at least 10 times. Every time before this one the food has been outstanding (although pricey). The fettine, first course, and salad were once again wonderful. However the entrees were not very good at all. My wife and her friend both had the Branzino. This fish was served in tiny portions, thin, dry, and too salty. My wife said it was like eating pan seared fish skin. I had the antelope short rib. This was a large portion but was overcooked, dry, and flavorless. The cauliflower was delicious. Another member of our group ordered the chili for an entree because he was full from all the appetizers. he said it was very good. Our service was outstanding.
Our visit to the Lonesome Dove was superb. We had friends accompany us who had never been and they loved it. The food was incredible. The appetizers were delightful - and such a variety to choose from. The main courses were so tasty - the buffalo rib-eye was tender and tasty as was the chicken thighs and the tenderloin. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive. He answered all our questions, made great recommendations, and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will definitely return.
Should be able to order beverages & appetizers and THEN place remainder of order va ALL the when you arrive
Food was creative and delicious... the selection of meats was great and appreciated
In town for the UGA-UTk game, went and had a terrific meal with exceptional service. Someone recommended it and we were not disappointed, from beginning to end a top notch experience. Definitely will be back next time the Dawgs are in town
The food was nice and server very attentive. However, our entrees almost never came. They appeared after we asked for our check. We were ready to walk out...
Fantastic and unique place, always try to visit when in Knoxville!
Food is delicious! Highly recommend.
The staff was very attentive. The food was excellent. Staff was short, but they made up for it with the extra effort. I mean where else can you get wild boar, antelope, elk, rabbit and rattlesnake, all in one night. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we were made to feel comfortable
Bartender seemed annoyed with us as we were a group of 8. She then made two margaritas that were too spicy to drink, even for people that love spicy.
Food was amazing and our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. We weren’t super hungry so we got several things from the first course menu and it was great.
Really a fun spot with a creative approach to beef, fish and game. Loved everything about the meal. The antelope was a bit too fatty for our tastes, but the smorgasbord of starters and our Elk entree were excellent.
Food was great once it arrived. Server was attentive and pleasant even though he was working 3 tables of 6. They have a great wine list but few "affordable" options. I would like this place better if they had more bottles under $60 on the list. Everyone at the table had a steak and everyone was pleased. Sides were also very good.
The food was amazing! We tried such a wonderful variety of wild game meats. Everything was delicious!
The Sommelier knew his wine. Server was excellent. Food was very good. Elk foie gras sliders were tasty. Would have liked more foie gras on the elk burger.
Lonesome Dove is a special restaurant! Fit for foodies with a bit of a old world speakeasy with a hipster vibe. A menu like you won't find anywhere else (adventurous to say the least) with unique offerings prepared delectably. Not priced for the faint of heart but worth every penny! Great service too!
Not our first trip to Lonesome Dove, food and service was fine as usual. I may not be returning out of principle. Our table of 8 was there to celebrate my husbands birthday. We spent well over $1000 and when I asked if they do dessert for his birthday, they said no and gave him a generic birthday card signed by people who work there. When you are spending that kind of money on one dinner, you would think they could spare $5 on a complimentary dessert.
Kitchen slow. Fish just ok
This was our first visit and, although we were late to the game, had heard all the hype. We were seated at 7:00 and it was after 9:00 and we still didn’t have our entrees. First we tried the fettine that was described as “our charcuterie.” It was so paper thin that we had to scrape it up with a fork to get a bite. No flavor. Our appetizers we $12 per piece, literally a bite, and were fair at best. I ordered chicken thighs with scalloped potatoes and fried olives. Chicken had no flavor, got six slices of olive and no potatoes were on the plate. My friends are all in agreement - one and done!
I took some family here for dinner and had a good experience. It is in a beautiful old building built in the 1880s. The slightly rustic feel of the location goes well with the menu being that it included wild game and rattlesnake. Not something you often see elsewhere. Overall the food was pretty good, as was the service. It is definitely a cool place to check out in the Old Town section of Knoxville.
