London Street Brasserie is the second award-winning restaurant by owner and proprietor Paul Clerehugh. Opened in 2000 next to the river Kennet in the heart of Reading, the London Street Brasserie has won both critical acclaim and Michelin recognition and has also been voted restaurant of the year.

Lovingly called the LSB by regulars and locals, the restaurant has become a firm favourite in the area and a must visit for foodies.

Serving local produce to the highest standards this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Everything was very good as usual except there was Bouillabaisse on the menu which two of us chose. When it came, it wasn’t bouillabaisse but Soupe de Poisson. When I told our waitress that it was delicious but not bouillabaisse, she said she knew and had told the chef several times. She said that that’s the way we do it. The chef likes to put a twist on things. That’s like having won ton soup without the won tons ! We didn’t care but it probably misrepresentation and we would have been within our rights to send it back.

A lovely restaurant in Reading on the river. Service was relaxed and friendly. The food experience was excellent, great choices and we loved the wine list. It was a Sunday and a lot of restaurants offer Sunday lunch menus only where we were offered that plus the full al a carte menu as well.

Lunchtime service was very busy and noisy but they managed to move us to a quieter area which was perfect. The food, as always, was excellent, and as we chose the set menu was reasonably priced. My only slightly negative comment is that the wine list, though extensive, is extremely expensive. A couple of good choices for under £30 would be great, and would encourage us to visit more frequently.

What a pleasant way to spend a bank holiday in a charming lively environment. Just happens to serve great drinks and very tasty food. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone who likes being looked after on a Monday lunchtime!

From past experiences, we had high expectations when we took our friends to the London Street Brasserie for lunch on Good Friday. It was, to say the least, disappointing. Part of the context was that they have a new chef. This we discovered when, having waited three quarters of an hour for our starters, and seen others who arrived after us finish theirs, and progress to the main course. I'd ordered the Goat's cheese souffle - apparently the first attempt was a failure and the second attempt would still be another five minutes. Ten minutes later it arrived. I'd ordered the souffle because my wife had highly praised it from the previous visit. Mine was not, she said, anything like the light and tasty souffle she'd enjoyed. But my main gripe was the lack of communication - they should have come to us to apologise when it first failed. I'd probably have opted for something available more quickly. Instead, we had to ask why there was a delay. The starters the other three diners had were excellent. Only one of the four of us enjoyed our main course. My wife and I had the Monkfish. 75% of mine was chewy. My wife thought that I had been unlucky as the first 75% of hers was fine - then she found her last 25% chewy, just like mine. One of our guests found the belly pork also overcooked and chewy and far from the melt in your mouth dish he'd hoped for. The chocolate cheesecake my wife and I shared for dessert was also disappointing. When we gave an honest answer to the usual - "How was everything?" - the manager came over and apologised. He said he would adjust the bill and did remove some of the dishes. On the positive side, T K, our wine waiter was excellent and the English sparkling wine was superb value. One of our guests said she had an excellent meal. One out of four isn't good enough.

Been a few years since we had been to LSB as we moved out of the area. Picked it for a family catch up as we have had some great evenings and memories there. Absolutely outstanding food service everything was just perfect cannot wait to come back.

Quite expensive eg £7 for a pint of lime and soda. Nice atmosphere but wouldn’t rush back
