London St Brasserie
Lovingly called the LSB by regulars and locals, the restaurant has become a firm favourite in the area and a must visit for foodies.
Serving local produce to the highest standards this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Great food, friendly employees and lovely atmosphere
Awesome meal even in this strange Covid19 environment!
Great lunch time menu very varied Very tasty and good value for money at lunchtime . Have eaten here many times and still the best restaurant in Reading
Great location especially for the summer when they can open up to the water. Prices are a bit high but it is very nice food. The Deserts are the best part.
The serving team were friendly, welcoming and attentive without being pushy. The food was beautifully presented with portion sizes ideal, not so large that you couldn't face dessert, but didn't leave you feeling not quite satisfied
Attentive and knowledgable staff — brilliant food — a real treat
great food and very good service.
Always worth a visit
Spinach pastry was quite rich. Calamari great.
Service excellent and generally good experience.
If the pastry was a bit less greasy would be 5 stars all round.
Great service and delicious food. It’s a bit more pricey than other places but you are paying for quality and you get it! Well worth the money
I have enjoyed many memorable meals over the years at the Brasserie, but dinner for our group of four on Sunday evening was only just 'fair'. The food was variable quality: my husband's sea bream main course, served with an octopus garnish, was not successful, while my pork chop was disappointingly tasteless. The service was also not at the level I would expect, very casual - plates passed over heads, two starter plates cleared with two left on the the table for five minutes, several crashes of dropped items. By 8.45 we were the only people left so had the joy of watching staff cleaning. Based on this experience I would suggest giving the LSB a break for a while. I hope this was just an off night?
Always a winner. I don't know why the good folk of Reading go anywhere else (except perhaps Sweeney & Todd's pie shop). As a Londoner, I've had countless brilliant celebratory lunches here.
Saturday lunch time it’s a busy restaurant - our food was really good and tasty. Seafood ceviche and crab salad were both really good starters.
Main of hake was excellent and so was the side dish of greens and pheasant was excellent. Would have liked a little more custard on my gluten free bake well but it was really lovely and definitely would have again. A really nice menu and relaxed lunch
Lovely venue, food and service
There is a wide range of food. There is a lunch time menu which is a little cheaper but still has a good variety of food. My friends and I enjoy going to this restaurant not only because of the good quality of the food but also we can spend as long as we like over our meal - we are never rushed.
I had a lovely relaxed Friday lunch at the London Street Brasserie which for many years I have considered to be the best restaurant in Reading...and still do. The menu was varied, all the food we had was delicious especially the winter version of the roast duck that I had previously enjoyed last summer and was equally well balanced by winter slaw, orange and pomegranate. From the front of house welcome to the delightful young French waitress, the service was outstanding. A highly enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours and excellent value too for the high quality.
Excellent food, service and environment as always.
Prices were a little high for food on offer. Small portions and good but not good enough to warrant price. Have eaten in fine dining restaurants where prices were the same or less but food much better. However food is not bad but prices should be less for what is on offer. Service excellent. Staff very friendly.
Local cider served awful. Sorry but as a cider drinker this was the worst ever tasted . Not sure if just a bad batch!
Great place on the river to enjoy good food with friends
Fabulous evening, and staff were brilliant despite us changing the time 3 times! I love this cafe restaurant, I have been using it for maybe ten/fifteen years plus and I have never had a bad experience. The food is Always innovative without being beyond recognition, a great menu always with something I really fancy as well as an old favourite. A really good wine menu too, loved the Geverey Chambertin. The staff are good and friendly, and in particular this time I was struck by a foreign young man who had limited English sitting on his own at the table next to us... and was made to feel very special by the staff, it was very touching. A very international cafe restaurant that measures well throughout the world... it counts as one of my favourites! Thank you!
The only issue I have is that the set menu is shown on the website as finishing at 7pm. However, when we got to the restaurant we were advised it was 6pm. The matter got resolved to our satisfaction and the evening was fine.
First visit, great food and service - highly recommended!
Nice restaurant. Extensive menu, reasonable value, good wines, and service was very attentive.
Such good service compared , great variety of interesting tasty dishes
So disappointed. I've been to the London St Brasserie before and really had a great meal. Not sure whether it was due to staff shortages or lack of customer service but it was not up to scratch. We waited for 10 minutes to get a drink initially. We eventually ordered out roast dinners, they all came out at different times which is unacceptable. My chicken had hardly any meat on it and the others had beef which was chewy and very very rare. All in all it wasn't a great experience . Atmosphere was good but other diners were complaining too . thanks
Second time we have booked for lunch. Had the set menu and can’t rate it highly enough. Staff friendly, relaxed and helpful. Chose to sit upstairs which was quite empty when we first arrived but it did fill up. Tables set apart enough to not be on top of each other. Definitely go back again.
We were very disappointed on this occasion as we've had enjoyable times here previously. Service was excessively slow and our requests were not listened to several times during our meal. Although we received recompense our special Valentine's meal was spoiled by the poor experience.
Havn't been for a while, but going back reminded me I really should go more often. The food is just a level up from the vast majority of other places, certainly in Reading. The service was spot on, and I don't mind paying a little bit more when it's this good. We'll be back!
Excellent restaurant. Nice staff and cosy dining room
Lovely food - that but extra special and a great place for a relaxing lunch.
Good food at good price, but noisy diners nearby can be irritating.
Such a great place I returned with a coworker! Great food ambiance and overall service!!!
Restaurant had great ambiance and a spectacular menu. Staff was friendly and kind and made sure that everything was just right. So glad I tried this. It was at a great location too!
We had a very good dinner here, on a Tuesday evening. I'm glad we booked, as it was busy!! We were given a lovely table by the window - so could see the river/pretty fairy lights. As it was busy it was rather noisy and I found it difficult to hear my partner on a couple of occasions.
The food was incredible. I had the burrata to start, following by chicken wrapped in pancetta - we shared the dulce de leche donut for pudding. I can't fault the food, it was exceptional! Lovely touch that they wrote 'Happy Anniversary' in chocolate on the dessert also (I told them when I booked).
The service was good, but good have been a bit more attentive. We were waiting a while to order drinks, and also to pay the bill. Overall, excellent experience, and I would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, great food and attentive staff.
Delicious food as always, and even had my glass of wine replaced when I knocked it over.
Restaurant very full, therefore noisy.
Exceptional food, first class service, beautiful setting. The candle on my Mother-in-Laws desert for her 82nd Birthday was a nice touch. If you have never been then you must book. If you have been before then you will obviously be going again.
Great as always. Great food and service. Enough said. Thanks
Great food. Wide selection.
Wonderful Sunday Roast Beef
As always we (3 of us) thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon visit to the Brasserie. The atmosphere adds something to the quality of food and wine, even when it's nowhere as busy as it was this time. Recommend this place 100%!
We had the luncheon menu on a Saturday lunchtime. The food was delicious and excellent value for money.
