Food was great. Service was great. The new owners have definitely improved the restaurant. Would have liked the music at the bar to have been lower.
Always a great experience!!!
My boyfriend and I came here for date night and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is in a cute little area and parking was really easy even on a Saturday night. Since I’d made a reservation, they reserved a table for us by the window and we got a complimentary appetizer and dessert on the house! The food was delicious and a much better price than I was expecting. My boyfriend and I split the Manhattan which was also delicious and their most popular drink. The noise level wasn’t too loud and the ambiance was nice and romantic. Our servers were very attentive and and made sure everything was as we wanted. I will definitely come back to London Curry House!
I have genuinely enjoyed every meal I've had at London Curry House (I visit several times a month). The staff are very pleasant and attentive, and the flavors are fantastic! Highly, highly recommended.
One of the best experience I have ever had. Never disappointed, they always treat me super VIP . I think not only me. I heard people are saying Oh my god what a experience
Nothing special stands out!
Truly fabulous and refined Indian cuisine.
Curry was surprisingly good. The first bite of each different curry shocked me. Coming from more generic/cheap curries, I was blown away by the depth of flavor achieved at this restaurant. Definitely will be coming back soon.
Not extremely expensive but definitely a once in a few week place. Smallish portions for price but everything oozes with quality ingredients and attention to detail.
We were offered complimentary glasses of rosé with our meal by staff. Very pleasant overall.
Nicely appointed, comforable dining room that is not overdone. Gracious service and staff give good food suggestions. Parking is simple.
It was our first time there, but man oh man.. very impressive. An excellent restaurant. Amazing food, Ambience was excellent. I would highly recommend it..
Very good menu advice from maitre’d, quite enjoyable dinner, will be returning.
Started with several appetizers to share between six people.
Somosas were very good, 2 per order, as we're the Tibetan dumplings, Mo Mo and their tomato, sesame dipping sauce. The kale chat, a plate of melt in your mouth accompanying perfect spicy notes, was delicious. As was the Jhaal Muri, an unusual, but clever twist on bale puri.
All the appetizer were well presented and the rest of dinner just got better.
Main dishes we had included Lamb Vindaloo, with decent but not excessive heat and a very tasty Seafood Curry. The London and Moghul curries while good, were less spicy, to accommodate varying tastes. The curries came with rice. I like heat, so added sliced green chilies as needed. But the variety of dishes really did not need anything, the chef got each one spot on.
Sides included excellent Mutter Paneer, Mushroom Mutter Makhani, Bindi Masala and Chana Masala. We rounded out the table with Dal Makhani, Mirchi Baingan, Raita and a bread basket of different naans.
You could easily choose all the vegetarian dishes and have as good as experience.
Everyone was stuffed after sharing so much, so ended with coffee and a single Ras Malai. There were two decent sized, tasty, flattened balls and sauce, enough for everyone to have a bite.
We also enjoyed several cocktails which were all good.
Each of the courses came out piping hot and together. With curries and sides conveniently presented on a tray, so much easier to pass around. Staff was attentive refilling water, taking away dishes etc but did hover.
Plenty of street parking around the restaurant, definitely requires a return visit.
Looking forward to tasting the tandoori board and a few other favorites next time.
Completely awesome! Food was outstanding, as well as the staff. After sharing at the end of our meal we were from southwest Indiana, our waiter asked what food we were known for. After telling him about mutton, a lamb/goat stew, he added their version to our to go box. Great setting, great environment, great people!
Excellent ambiance,foods and service.
I loved coming to London Curry House. The restaurant has great ambiance and the servers are attentive and offer recommendations. The food was amazing and drinks are very reasonable. Especially if you are used to DC prices. The only thing I am sad about is the it is a bit far for me be a regular. But I think I will definitely make the effort to come once a month
Very friendly staff. Good recomendado about the menu since we are not the familiar with Indian foods.
The food and the staff were both excellent!!! I would highly recommend London Curry House to a friend. The staff were very attentive and patient. They sent an Amouse Bouche to the table which was delicious and recommended lots of great choices. It is definitely my new favorite Indian restaurant and I cannot wait to go back.
The food was exceptional and the service was really lovely, overall it was a great experience and we will be coming back!
We love London Curry House. Can’t wait to return. Great food, gracious staff. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
Excellent service, drinks and amazing food! The staff made provided recommendations on what to order since many people in my party were unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. Everything we ordered was delicious! I can’t wait to eat there again!
Great place to have an authentic and wonderful dinner
Cant believe I had not heard of this restaurant til recently. Definitely worth a visit. Puffed rice, kale chaat were great! Lamb chops to die for. Will be back.
Food was good, service was fine. We sat in the bar area and although the bartender was very friendly , it seemed that he was just behind on service.
Six adults enjoyed a Friday evening dinner at London Curry House. We shared appetizers included samosas and kale chips. The kale was reluctantly ordered by some of the adults, but once it was tasted they changed their mind. We each had our own main dish including a goat biryani, butter chicken and tandoor salmon. The dishes were plentiful. The tandoor salmon was thick and melt in your mouth tasty.
Staff was great, enjoyed the food. Ordered the Indian wine and paired well with the food.
New menu same great food and service! We love this hidden neighborhood gem with food and service the quality of more well known Indian restaurants in DC at 1/2 the price. We like the curry experience which allows you to sample 4 different curry entrees. It’s plenty for 2 with a few portions of naan. They also have a beer and wine selection that perfectly compliment the food. After only a few visits, the friendly staff knows who we are and greets us with our favorite beverages. If you haven’t tried I Duan food this is the place to do it. If you love Indian food, you’ll love this place!
London Curry House is a hidden gem in the west end neighborhood of Alexandria. The new menu tops even further what was already amazing fare of veg and meat, fish based appetizers and main dishes. New selections of a Tandoori board and Curry samplers for two people are excellent Choices if you want to sample a wide variety of traditional offerings. The LCH tram dies not disappoint and you will want to cone back again to try what you may have missed. Great cocktails too! Highly recommend for traditional and nouveau Indian and Nepali dishes. Service and welcoming is exceptional!
Food and service here are excellent!
We had an excellent meal on Thursday. We were there to celebrate a bday and LCH did not disappoint. Every dish was beautiful presented and delicious. As always, the service was outstanding.
This restaurant is a gem!
Superb food and unbelievable service! 10 out of 10 rating.
It was truly amazing!! The food was so authentic and delicious - and the service outstanding!!
Nice quiet place with good Indian food and nice decor. The best thing about this experience besides the very good food was the level of service which made us feel valued.
Wonderful experience, great food, exceptional service.
We have been meaning to try London Curry House for some time and so glad we finally did! The food and service was incredible and we enjoyed our anniversary immensely. Do yourself a favor and order the barrel aged Manhattan. We are looking forward to our next visit!
This place is awesome and, because of that, we are now regulars. From arrival to departure, the staff takes wonderful care of you. The bartender crafts great drinks and changes his menu based on season (had the barrel aged manhattan - wow). The food is the best Indian around (IMHO). Good sized portions at a good price.
In short, Ambiance is great, service is great, food is great, and drinks are great.
Celebrated a special anniversary and received such special treatment.
LCH is amazing for level of gourmet food and personalized service. A total hidden gem!
They did an amazing job at making my boyfriend and I feel so special for his birthday! We loved the food. They even brought him dessert. Great place - highly recommend.
Service and food were wonderful. Nice leisurely dinner with friends!
This restaurant continues to delight. The food and service are exceptional, and well beyond the much more pricey options in DC or Old Town. Don’t let the location fool you. This is fine dining in the west end of alexandria. Can’t decide, try the “curry experience” which lets you try 4 different curry dishes. Don’t forget the naan. The wine and beer selections pair well with the spice. There is also plenty of room for large groups and a separate bar area. Try it!
I had a fantastic time eating at London Curry House. The ambiance is amazing, the service is impeccable, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to eat delicious Indian food.
