A collaboration with renowned Melbourne chefs Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters, Smith & Daughters Deli) and Ian Curley (French Saloon, Kirk’s Wine Bar), Lona Misa is a rebellious renaissance from root to stem, sustainably crafted to be seasonal, full of flavour, and memorable. The result? "A deliciously lively eatery that provides the ideal setting for coming together and taking part in the simple act of enjoying good food that is kind to the planet" (TimeOut).

Awarded One Hat by the prestigious Good Food Guide 2023, Lona Misa’s Latin fare and bistro dining collide against the norms of the classical medley you know of vegan and vegetarian dining. Think of dishes like Brazilian steafood stew Moqueca, roasted padron & manchego croquetas, or pastor mushrooms grilled over charcoals on Josper with corn puree, fermented pineapple & chilli.

                    Had a fantastic evening with the family to celebrate a birthday. Our son is vegan, so finding a quality restaurant that caters for vegan can be very hit and miss, and Lona Miss did not disappoint! Also catered for my partners very particular food allergies. All in all a great experience, from the wait staff, to the food, to the ambience. top notch.

                    A Long-Time Favorite with Recent Disappointment We’ve been loyal patrons of Lonamisa since 2017 and have always found it to be a reliable favorite — the ambiance is lovely, and the food has consistently impressed us on every visit over the years. However, our most recent experience left us quite disappointed. We ordered Josper meals, which have typically been a highlight, but this time they arrived lukewarm and not up to the standard we’ve come to expect. On top of that, the wrong dish was initially brought to our table. While mistakes happen, what really detracted from the experience was the service. The server was largely absent throughout the evening and seemed more focused on engaging in casual banter and unfunny jokes with nearby tables than on ensuring attentive and efficient service. When the incorrect dish was taken back, we were told we wouldn’t be charged — which was presented as a favour, rather than the bare minimum you’d expect when an error is made. Unfortunately we didn’t get to indulge in the desserts, as mentioned, the server wasn’t around for us to order. We stopped off at LOTF for surprisingly good treats. This is not the level of care and professionalism we’ve become accustomed to at Lona Misa. It’s disheartening to have experienced this on a special occasion, especially after so many years of great experiences. We hope this was just an off night and not a reflection of a new norm. We’d love to return again and have our trust restored — Lona Misa has meant a lot to us over the years, and we hope to see it back at its best soon.

                    We tried the chef's tasting menu, every dish was delicious! We had a lovely bottle of red temperanillo wine with our meal and the service was outstanding. Completely looked after and dishes explained. Decor was lovely. We'll be back!

                    What a lovely experience from start to finish! The staff were incredibly helpful with their depth of knowledge with both the menu & beverages. This was my daughter's first Lona Misa experience not mine, she was blown away by the flavors! Shout out to both Regina & Alex for making my daughter's 20th Birthday a wonderful experience, she felt extra special, and would highly recommend anyone considering a Vegan option with all the bells & whistles, the Latin inspired flavors and the funky Vibe ~ definitely Lona Misa is a must!

                    We couldn’t have asked for a better meal. The staff were great and the food superb. I’ve only been vegan for a couple of years and this is by far the best fare I’ve indulged in those two years. They also catered for my wife being coeliac. Gluten free, no problem. 11 out of 10. We’ll be back.
