Bottomless brunch was so good! Ambience was perfect. Loved everything about it!
Lona’s brunch is a great experience. Energetic wait staff and a vibrant, beachy environment, along with bottomless drinks. Food is pretty decent for a buffet, but nothing particularly memorable.
Seated outside and music was great along with ambiance
Service was terrible I had to ask the receptionist for a waiter after 20mins of waiting for one
Food took extremely long to receive each dish we waited 45mins for if not more
Food was served cold
Dirty dishes were not taken away as new dishes came to table
Had to ask receptionist to find our waitress so we could pay our bill and leave
It seemed like our waitress was working tables inside and not supposed to be working outside
We had an AMAZING time at dinner. Diego took such good care of us. The service was great, and his recommendations were even better. We are still raving about the lobster quesadillas and shrimp tacos. The drinks were so fresh and we are so happy we made a reservation here to celebrate my sisters bachelorette. We just may have to go back before we leave back to New York!
Great food. Service ok. Very loud music though - hard to talk with people at same table.
Although the food was good, I thought it was lacking in flavor. I had two different dishes that I thought were bland and I had to ask for salt to try and add some flavor. The other diner with me also agreed with this. You would expect more flavor from a Mexican restaurant. Although we love this place for breakfast, lunch has been less impressive.
Lobster quesadilla is beyond 5 stars! Salsa has a smoky chipotle flavor to it and the traditional guac was fabulous! Outdoor seating made for great people watching too.
We had 3 tables and our waitress rocked it! Drinks were good, food was good, loved our waitress
Excited for some good Mexican food our last night in Ft. Lauderdale. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Been to four other restaurants before this one and Lona Cocina was the worst experience of all.
Party of 3 - Server delivered 2 of 3 drinks and walked away. Waited for a long time and had to flag her down and ask if she forgot my margarita and she said yes.
Also asked her to turn on outdoor heater as it was breezy and chilly. She had to ask her manager. She never did after half hour waiting. Husband had to seek out manager and ask. Manager not friendly. Acted like he was annoyed of this request. He just walked over to heater and turned it on without saying a word. Then other guests had their heaters turned on so it certainly wasn't an obscure request. It was chilly.
Food came and daughter and I split steak fajitas. Doesnt come with cheese. I asked for shredded cheese. She said it has to go to restaurant whatever that meant. We found out later that meant you get charged $2 for shredded cheese after spending over $120 on food and drink. Husband asked me which fajitas are better - Lona or Chili's. Chili's fajitas are better.
Husband got chicken enchiladas and hardly any chicken wrapped in enchiladas for the price you pay. It was all corn tortilla and smothered in sauce.
Nice part about Lona Cocina is the ambience and view. We sat outside and looked at the ocean and restaurant decorated nicely.
We were disappointed to say the least and rarely feel the need to write a negative review.
Went for my birthday dinner and it was good. Personally, there’s not a lot of side options and the one thing I did want on the appetizer was to try the chicken wings and we where told that they where out of them. I ordered the crab enchiladas and omg they where so good. My fiancé food was cold so they had to remake it but overall it was good. I would come back. Thank you!
Everything great - great Location and excellent food and service. The one thing missing was that as often is the case with Mexican restaurants food was brought much too quickly well before the first course was he even half finished
It was my daughter’s birthday and we loved our decision to celebrate it here at Lona. The food and drinks were phenomenal. I now have a favorite drink and recommend it; it is the Spicy Avocado! Our family hasn’t gathered for dinner outside our home in a long time and Lona was a great start! Will be back soon!
Food Is amazing!! We went for Easter Sunday dinner. We will def go back!
The food was very good, an excellent selection to choose from. Our server Nelson really made our visit special. He made us feel welcome and was very efficient.
Amazing lunch sitting outside across the street from the beach. Friendly service, delicious food with many unique menu options.
9:45 am reservation and we were served at 11:15. Order was wrong and had to wait another 20 minutes for the correct order. Coffee cold waiting 20 minutes for milk and sugar. An hour and a half to be served breakfast is unacceptable. Granted the restaurant was full but we should of been credited.
The evening prior we were over charged $60 on our bill.
Very nice atmosphere but service not good!
Everything was pretty great. Our server, Richard, knew the menu inside and out and made some great suggestions on cocktails and entrees. Maybe the best guacamole I’ve ever had.
Love it. Great food and ambiance. Prices are reasonable. Kids loved the brisket.
We had read of this vibrant and bustling new Mexican bistro in Ft. Lauderdale Magazine and wanted to give it a try ourselves while on Spring Break with the family. It was immensely family friendly, with fabulous and inventive dishes plus a view that couldn’t be beat. We also appreciated the discounted valet parking at the Westin! It was a terrific experience all around.
Bad hostess and food average
Not my fav, not sure what all the rage is about!
Loved the food, outdoor beach side views, & ambiance! Will def be back to try other amazing dishes!
Solid spot at a top notch location. The food is better than average for being right on the strip, which saying something for this area. Very good cocktails, guacamole and both our entrees as well. The tables on the outdoor patio are extremely dark though. So I literally couldn't even see my plate, or the food on it,, and I have excellent vision, so it was a little odd.
Good location right on the beach. Food was just okay this time, had been here a few times in the past couple of years and had much better food/service. Our table was gross and sticky, our server forgot about us for quite some time. We spent a good amount of time waiting for drinks and check at the end
This was one of the worst experiences I have had on vacation. The reviews made it sound good but it was not what we expected. I would have a hard time recommending this place.
Very nice atmosphere and great food!
I had visited the restaurant with my friend and husband. We ordered Appetizers and main dishes. My shrimp tacos were horrible. My husband’s grouper was horrible.
And the guacamole was tasteless. I couldn’t believe how many people were in the restaurant and how many were waiting online to get in. I will never eat here again. The only pleasant experience was our waitress.
All three of us LOVED what we ate. Amazing place with a nice view of the beach and great food!
Absolutely loved it, and look forward to going again!
Everything was fantastic! The food was fresh and delicious as were the drinks! We'll definitely be going back again!
Our server Claudia was excellent!
We had Sunday brunch on the patio and it was delicious! Will definitely come back!
perfect restaurant , delicius food, nice location, everything ok.
The service was excellent with the waiter Nelson.. He’s so helpful. Food was really good. Margaritas were so so delicious
Lobster quesadilla is chefs kiss
Great experience, service and food was fabulous
Food was bland and pretty disappointing. tortilla chips and salsa were excellent but that was it. really too bad because the location is excellent
Our server Zsane was fantastic! Really enjoyed our food!
Service was not good and food was just ok. Plenty of better places to go.
We’ve visited Ft. Lauderdale ~15 nights in the last year and have had dinner at Lona Cocina at least 8 times! Don’t ask what’s good on the menu...we’ve tried them all and each one is delicious...what are you in the mood for? The Lobster Quesadilla is not overly huge, but is really rich and plenty of lobster. The carnitas (classic Mexican tacos), are best ordered under the fajita section (hope you’re hungry or you’ll take home lunch with this substantial dish). The salmon served on sweet potatoes with a very different and light mole sauce is not overwhelming to the fish. Everything is good...you can’t go wrong...unless you don’t go to Lona’s!
Great food! The Spicy Avocado margarita was superb!
