Very nice place and great food. The spot is perfect and service very kind
The best Mexican resturant anywhere. Food was outstanding. Service outstanding. Our server Claudia friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating great, beautiful view of the ocean.
Enjoyed the ambiance and service Overall nice dining experience
Service and food was great
DJ was too Loud. Everything else was top notch!
Claudia was awesome! We had a great experience!
Went with new friends to try and have a nice dinner. Food was ok. Service was great. Richard r was just perfect. The music was so loud u couldn't hear yourself think. We couldn't even talk it was stupid. My first choice was the new restaurant at the W should have gone there. Anyway would not go back to pricey music just awful and atmosphere ok.
Innovative and eclectic nouveau Mexican cuisine. Superb service, reasonably priced. Terrific setting custom made for people watching. Right on the beach.
Claudia was the best! She had great recommendations. We had such a good experience we came back again two nights later. Romel was our server that night, and he was so helpful and attentive to our bride to be guest of honor. Our glasses were kept full, and we all left with smiles and happy bellies. My only complaint was I had the rice and beans side instead of the corn side the second night, and it wasn’t nearly as tasty. Thanks!
Service was absolutely horrible. Our waitress spent more time sitting at the bar with a customer than waiting on her tables. We ran out of water and waited 45 minutes then finally went to her; sitting at the bar. It was highly frustrating and I would never recommend anyone to the restaurant.
Great service with exceptional food!
Second visit, both times sat outside. Amazing views! The lump crab guacamole out of this world!!!! And steak fajitas!!!! Hotel parking super convenient! Will keep going back.
Went for the brunch buffet. Skeeter was our server. She was excellent! Very friendly and our bottomless margaritas never went dry. Only complaint was some of the food could have been hotter, esp the waffles.
La Lona Cocina has become our new spot for my family and I. I can't believe that I hadn't visited until 1/5/19. Jeff, the assistant manager was truely concern with how our experience was. We have already recommended La Lona Cocina to our co-workers and our friends. We will be taking our relatives when they visit from Northeast.
I would have given the restaurant a much higher rating, except the service was abysmal. Our server would breeze by and then disappear - literally, as she was absent from all the other tables in her section - for anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour. Our drink orders remained unfilled, our food was lukewarm when it arrived, it took a full 20 minutes to get our check after she asked if we were finished.
Have been to Lona many times...but this night was an off night across the board--service and quality. I'd give them another chance but this one was disappointing.
Poor service, bland food, we hoped and expected so much more than we received. Very disappointed.
Food was good. Chips and salsa were outstanding. Service was poor. Took over two hours for dinner and we didn’t even get dessert. Never tried to refill our drinks. Very very understaffed.
I arrived 30 minutes prior to my reservation specifically for an outside hightop and waited for my guests to arrive. I sat at the inside bar and waited for approximately 15 minutes before a bartender would acknowledge my presence. We advised the hostess of our presence at the reservation time. She personally cleared the hightop closest to us and disappeared never deploying the setups. We waited and waited for approximately 10 minutes only to have another hostess sit another party at the only available hightop that was supposed to be our table. Upon complaining they all looked like deer caught in the headlights. The floor manager apologized and said she doesn’t have anymore hightop but can sit us far away in normal table which wasn’t what we were really considering but accepted. She had the original hostess sit us and then she and staff once again disappeared. We waiting almost 10 minutes and no wait staff acknowledged our presence. We opted to leave, obtained the floor managers name and was quickly but politely intercepted by the waitress for our table as we were exiting. She was very nice and attempted to be accommodating especially after we explained our horrible experience. Regrettably the damage was done and we went the Mexican restaurant located next door at the W and had a wonderful experience. I would not recommend anyone consider this restaurant until and unless they can get their service in gear because it’s the worst I’ve experienced and at restaurant in a longtime. Simply unacceptable.
Good ambiance and very nice front sea view food is also well prepared with good options for the Mexican food lovers
The out side tables are very nice and the sea breeze iwhile you have your drink is great !
Dinner reservation should be the best !
Parking was a nightmare, service was spotty though friendly, atmosphere was great, food was abysmal. It’s not a good sign when your 4 year old’s chicken tenders are the best thing on the table. Disappointed.
Love the food here! They are also very accommodating for large groups and the beach view is great.
Food was excellent. Sat at the bar - the two bartenders were very slow. In fact it took 35 mins before I even was asked for a drink order (and that was with me trying very hard to get their attention). The bar was full (seats) but should have been easy to serve everybody in 10 mins, not 35! When I finally got a drink, the spilled 1/3 of it and didn’t offer to replace or top up or anything and charged me full price for it.
Poor service at the bar. Excellent food. Ceiviche and confit duck tacos were both outstanding.
The food was average and cool by the time it arrived at our table. The spices that we used were not my favorite and the salsa was very different . The corn vegetable side was good and dips were good. The margarita was not good. Very bitter!
This restaurant never lets us down. Fantastic food, service and location!
Excellent Mexican Sunday brunch. Very comfortable setting
First time there a friend recommended it and it won't be my last time. Food is good with flavor. Drinks are really good staff is friendly and helpful
Sat on the patio listening to the DJ watching the waves crash in. The food and the service was excellent!
The salmon mole is to die for!!!
Loved this place!
Excellent excellent excellent!! Our waiter, Richard Licursi was absolutely charming. Service 110%, food, 110%
Just wished we could dance! Awesome music and ambiance!
food and service were great, especially the quesedillas were absolutely fab, music too loud otherwise fantastic
It was good. The waiter was great and the first round of drinks were good. The second round one of the guests drinks was not right and it took forever to get it taken care of. The menu was nice but it was strange they could only serve chicken tacos. Despite having steak on the menu there was no way they could make steak tacos? All that aside, if you feel like Mexican food you should try it.
Food and drinks were good. I especially liked the guacamole. Not prepared table side but clearly very fresh and delicious. Service was nice but a bit slow, though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, and all dishes (appetizers and main courses) came out at once which I didn’t like. Would come back though. Outdoor space seemed very nice but the evening was too windy so we sat inside, would like to sit outdoors next time. Decor was very nice, very chic restaurant.
Great for big groups!
Truth be told we enjoyed Christmas lunch at Lona Cocina after being unable to get last minute reservations at our "go to" place. It turned out to be a wonderful chance to try something new. My vegetarian option was the swiss chard and spinach enchiladas which were so good I would return just for that. The complimentary salsa was rich and dark and remarkably different than the generic options usually found in "Mexican" restaurants. The cocktail menu was creative and fun. After consuming a delightful botanical gin concoction I remarked to our server "how tiny" she was. Alice in Wonderland effects? So, I ask our wonderful, smiling, blond server to forgive me for remarks concerning her stature. After a Tres Leche dessert and paying a remarkably reasonable bill (less than $150. for 4 people including 20% gratuity) we exited with a happy Christmas memory and a new "go to" place.
Perfect! Awesome food! Great service!
Very good food & variety
Great food, great service. Right on ocean with outside seating. Staff is wonderful and knowledgeable about menu and able to provide solid recommendations.
Loved it. Good food right across from the beach, great bar and music
