Perfect! Awesome food! Great service!
Very good food & variety
Great food, great service. Right on ocean with outside seating. Staff is wonderful and knowledgeable about menu and able to provide solid recommendations.
Loved it. Good food right across from the beach, great bar and music
Amazing location & ambiance... Appetizers were lackluster but entrees were on point!
Though the service was great and with a smile, the food was average. Salsa was salty, and the Swiss chard enchiladas were ok except that the Swiss chard wasn’t washed thoroughly (bc they were often gritty/rocky in texture). The apps and dinner were so so, but the dessert made up for it. I would go back only to eat the Tres Leches cake.
Salmon mole was amazing! Tom server was very personable. Thanks for a nice evening
Had a great time especially with the winter weather eating out @ night. Great food & atmosphere. Will definitely return soon.
Food wasn’t great but wasn’t awful. The atmosphere is great but the lighting outside on the patio was strange. The orange lights made it so that you couldn’t see your food. Maybe for a reason?! Overpriced but in such a touristy area it was expected.
I went to Lona with my girlfriend for our one year anniversary. We got a table right near the street with the beautiful ocean view just like I asked for when I made the reservation. The food was fantastic especially the tacos al pastor. I highly recommend those as they are my favorite tacos. The guac and the queso with chorizo was amazing as well. The margaritas were the cherry on top though. They were delicious and strong! The service and valet was great as well. If you love good Mexican food, drinks and a beautiful atmosphere than Lona is for you. We will definitely be back!
Food was awesome! There was a DJ and oceanfront dining...what more could you ask for?!
Two wonderful meals on different days.....a Thanksgiving Day Feast prepared by their chef for all comers served family style. One of the most unique and tasty Thanksgivings I've had in years. I'll be back.
Then dined outside on the patio a few days later...the Beef Cheeks were delicious
as was the fresh guacamole all the way to desert...yep...saved room.
You'll be glad you saved room for Flan.
Outstanding and a gem on the Ft. Lauderdale beach front.
Our whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Our server Rick was knowledgeable about the menu and had a great sense of humor. Everyone enjoyed both their food and drinks. The music was lively but not too loud as other reviewers had mentioned. We were seated at the couches away from the hostess stand where the music was considerably louder. I would definitely recommend this to others.
This is a lovely place. The food and the atmosphere were great.
Great food, ate thanksgiving special. they wouldn't let substitute for our vegetarian daughter. So good food, overall value not good.
Overpriced small portions. Trrrible service. The food was tasty but tiny portions. There are a lot of choices at this stretch of the beach so pass this one by.
Delicious food, but the kitchen was extremely slow. Dinner took over 3 hours for appetizer, dinner and dessert!!
We enjoyed Lona. We were glad to have the chips and salsa, with green salsa, vs the regular red salsa all other restaurants serve. Our entire group enjoyed their meals and the cocktails were great as well!
The only think I would change, is the color of the lights; they are yellow, so you can't see the actual colors of the food and drinks... All looked beige, and I am sure it all looks beautiful during the day. Even the color of the people looked funny.
What a fabulous place! Great atmosphere, great food and drink and excellent service, especially Claudia.
We went there for taco Tuesday. Our server Anna was great and personable. Sat outside looking at the ocean great view. Food was good no vegan choices.
Went forTaco Tuesday. Great deal on great tasting food! Don’t miss it!
Overall things were good, just some of the dishes were a little off to our personal tastes, e.g. the ceviche was too sweet (not acidic/spicy as it should be), the grilled octopus was chewy, and the tacos with grouper cheeks were excessive with habanero slaw (so wet the tortilla fell apart immediately, and the flavor overpowered). The service was very friendly but we didn't see her for awhile and then she just brought the bill before seeing if we wanted dessert/coffee/anything else. Personally, we like "the other" Mexican restaurant right down the street, but we were happy to try Lona to compare.
Romel was the best! Honest, polite, amazing, and just overall great server!!!
Great food! I enjoyed the chicken quesadilla and queso fundido! The corn tortillas tasted freshly made in house but not the flour tortillas. Overall it was wonderful and I would definitely recommend.
The best and most totally unexpected preparation of Pork Croquetas ever! Jamon translated to pork: not ham. I had to remember this was real Mexican, not Cuban...and the Lamb Tamale was equally great. The signature dish seemed to be the Guacamole *one with crab* which we didn't have as it was late ... but do get the Skirt Steak. Awesome food: we were lucky to get in on Friday night, so make reservations!
The food was great and Richard the server was fantastic
Great ambiance. Music was good. Food was great. Lighting outside area was not good unless you were right under them hard to see menu and plates.
Very very rude waiter. He set a negative tone for our special night out. I heard him be short / curt with other diners as well. We should have formally complained because the food and drinks were wonderful but service can ruin any meal.
Great drinks! Make sure capitalize on the five dollar ladies night drinks and appetizers (Wednesday) Great music and Ambiance...food is delicious but service can be a little better. Great location! Highly recommend the guacamole and Quesadillas (I have had better cerviche)
Overall a great dining experience!
Claudia was amazing! She was so friendly and polite and professional. Perfect host!
Good music and atmosphere. Service was slow and food was good but not great. Quesadilla appies were excellent but main dishes were just okay.
Second visit for brunch, just as good as the first! This is now my go-to brunch place in Fort Lauderdale.
We sat outside on the patio and the music was so loud that we could not hear our guests. We asked if the music could be lowered and the host said that it could not be lowered because it was determined that it must be at that level at that time. We could not hear each other...and the evening ended up very disappointing. We couldn't wait to go have coffee and dessert some where else where it was quiet.
This has to have been one of the worst places to eat. If you’re looking for a dance club with a side of dinner, go here. It was so loud. We witnessed several tables which were being seated either leave because of the noise or relocate. The food was not great either. Salsa was good. My meal was OK but my partners was not. This is upscale Mexican. The view is quite great as were the drinks.
too loud too loud too too loud too loud too too loud too loud too too loud too loud too too loud too loud too too loud too loud too loud
Food was good although a little pricey. Service was slow. Definitely a happening area.
Good, but not great Sunday Brunch. Beautiful decor and views of Fort Lauderdale Beach.
Nice Mexican establishment. The service and food was good- the grilled octopus was outstanding. I would say the only negative is how loud it is inside - a bit hard if you are having a business dinner.
Excellent food, was a little loud with the music but was Saturday night. Overall fun atmosphere
Delicious food and drinks, waterfront view, indoor or outdoor dining, great service. Only complaint is that the check can’t be split for a large party which is an annoyance and there was an ‘alcohol fee’ when myself and my husband were the only 2 out of a party of 14 to order drinks and the drinks are expensive as is so that does not seem necessary. They accommodated the party well in nice roomy outdoor seating with a waterfront view.
