Celebrated chef Pablo Salas brings Lona Cocina Tequileria to Fort Lauderdale Beach. Lona, offers an eclectic, modern twist on traditional Mexican cooking in a chic, yet funky environment. A diverse menu includes ceviches, crab-infused guacamole, tostadas, tacos, meats from the grill and shareable sides at an affordable price. The outdoor patio and bar offer breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean and beach serving a special menu of snacks, small plates and tacos as well as a selection of agave-centric craft cocktails, freshly-made margaritas, house-made sangrias, Micheladas (perfect for the beachfront vibe) and, for true tequila worshipers, agave flights. Service was horrible! Waiters preferred to gossip rather than wait on customers. Husband had a terrible stomachs ache the next day. Food was not great.

The restaurant was extremely noisy, the food was disappointing, and the service was frustrating. Our waiter seemed annoyed that we were there; we ordered food and drinks, but they were never brought to us—another staff member had to deliver them. Additionally, the waiter kept rushing us every time he came to our table, but he never brought our orders. Overall, it was a bad experience.

Best place for Sunday Brunch when taking friends, out of town guests or for special occasions. The food and drinks are outstanding. The wait staff is excellent. And it has a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. What more do you want for a Sunday afternoon!

Another date night in the books! After some research I decided on Lona Cocina since we wanted Mexican and waterfront. Parking - valet with hotel and validate with restaurant hostess for $10 parking Seating - indoor dining is nice but outside is a great vibe and you have an amazing ocean view Service - had to get the servers attention a few times to order more drinks and put in our entree orders but overall service was decent They bring chips and salsa automatically which is a plus in my book. I ordered a Coke and a Pinot Grigio and my husband had A Corona. I was good with chips and salsa so he ordered the Red Shrimp Aguachili appetizer. For him it was just ok...he said he would try something different next time. For entrees AI had the Mushroom A La Pastor tacos, he had the chicken adobe fajitas and we shared a plantain side. I loved my tacos and we both loved the plantains but he said the fajitas were just ok and would try something different next time. For dessert, we had the lava cake which came with a tiny scoop of ice cream...they could really step this up and some berries and roasted peanuts. Personally I think the whole peanuts were weird and chopped would be easier to eat with the cake...and definitely a real scoop of ice cream...don't be skimpy! I forgot to take a picture but the pics already uploaded are pretty accurate. All in all, we still really enjoyed our date night! The vibe was cool, the view is amazing and it was fun to people watch. We will be back and my husband will just try new things:)
