The food looked more exciting on the website and this app than in person. Although a lovely location, I had higher expectations of the food based on the description than what was actually served. The prices were high based on the quality of taste, and serving size.
Crystal was such an accommodating waitress. She made it a great night. The food was good (we had the Grouper and Shrimp Tacos). But the food was not notable enough for us to ever visit again. Do go for a good outdoor dining experience.
First, we got there and they gave our reserved table to the people that came in right before us, while we were standing there in line. Second, we asked out the dine out Ft Lauderdale deals and the menu was not the same as the one posted on the website. The waitress was very efficient. She kept taking our drinks away and bringing a new one before we had finished the one in front of us. Finally, I asked for a to go box for my delicious empanada and it was never brought to me. On the bright side, the guacamole was delicious and so were the drinks. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the view is amazing. It would’ve been a perfect night except for those few things that I mentioned at the beginning.
I think our waiters was named Richard R and he was great! We loved the shrimp tacos and the lobster quesadilla! The queso with chorizo was also amazing! I highly recommend.
We were visiting the area for a couple of days and were in the mood for Mexican food - walked over to Lona and we were blown away! Absolutely enjoyed the vibe and food!! Best part, everything was pandemic friendly! Staff wore masks and they had paperless menus! Our waitress Brittany was so sweet and fun! We took her up on her dessert recommendation (tres leches) and we weren't disappointed! If we're back in the area, we're coming here for a meal again!
there was no MExico Independence day celebration nor special, for a Mexican restaurant that was somehow expected, but we had a good time
Great service and food was very filling.
Love the ambience
Service was good, food was average at best. Portion were small for the price.
Great service, Flavorful food, strong drinks and perfections desserts. What more could you ask for?!
Food was good, but the plate presentation did not invite to eat! Service was very good! Bianca was diligent when we returned a plate since the chicharrón wasn’t good.
Guys rock ...!
We ate twice while staying at the hotel. Crystal was our waitress and was absolutely incredible. Great food, great atmosphere good drinks and even better service.
Dined there three times over the weekend. Food was really good. But couldn’t understand why the food took so long every time. The worst was Weekend Brunch that was supposed to start at 11:30. We sat down at 11:15 and didn’t get to brunch being served till noon. I understand restaurants run behind but we sat for 15 min before a server even came over for water etc. Communication is all we’re asking for. Then when food was ready, everyone jumped in line so took a bit as well.
Beautiful place and scenery but felt they were short staffed all weekend unfortunately. Would def recommend assuming quicker service.
Great ambiance, excellent customer service. Dishes were savory.
This was our first restaurant experience since the Pandemic. We wanted to eat outside for safety reasons. We lucked out. We had a great table. So much Latin and Mexican ambience. I started out with a Lona margarita which was great..We loved the cerviche and the Tuna tostada appetizers and shared an excellent shrimp tacos. So delicious. We had a great server. We would come back next time we were in Ft. Lauderdale. The tables were spaced and we felt safe...
The place has an awesome ocean view, delicious cuisine, especially the ribs. Moreover, you don't have to wait for a long time to get your food ready. We waited no more than 10 mins.
Our service Jorge was the best, a real asset to the business. Great food too
One of my favorite places in Fort Lauderdale! Service is amazing and food is great every time.
This restaurant is amazing!! Queso is amazing! Lobster quesadillas is amazing!! We will definitely be going back.
Had a great experience!! Excellent service, above and beyond! Brunch food was pretty good for brunch. I prefer their dinner food. But a very organized and impressive brunch style following current guidelines impeccably. Can’t wait to go back.
Awesome ambience and delicious food! The guaca with chicharrón and bacon is a must have!
It was nice.
Food was just ok, overpriced for what you get, the service was good and the view is worth it
It was a birthday celebration and it was awesome. From the time we checked in! Table was right in front of the ocean, food was amazing and very sweet my boyfriend got a complimentary cake so we could sing him happy birthday! In spite of Covid19, they made his birthday a very memorable event!
Brunch at Lona is always great. They now have staff serving the buffet, everyone wearing masks and regular cleaning of the dining area can be seen.
Brunch menu included taco station with all the fixings. Also had an omelette and waffle station. Guacamole was really good and also included you helpings to ceviche.
Beautiful restaurant and great service. The food is also delicious and very well presented. Ended up going back for take out guac a few days after our reservation.
Was not impressed with the service, took 20 mins before our waiter came to our table, then he would be gone for a while at a time while leaving us with nothing to drink. Food was great, but the noise level is ridiculous due to dirt bikes, four wheelers and other cars with loud mufflers constantly riding by revving their engines.
Super spicy food. No body let you know in advance, even on the Menu don't sign the hot food
Excelente experiencia. La mejor en mucho tiempo.
A group of 6 of us went here for dinner and absolutely loved the food, drinks and ambiance. Our waiter Diego took amazing care of us!
The lobster quesadilla was outstanding! A glass of wine, side salad and the quesadilla was a little pricey for one person BUT it was well worth it!
Lovvveeee this restaurant best tacos I come every month
Great brunch. Everything was fresh and tasty. Will be back
Lona is one of our favorite spots to visit when we are in Ft Lauderdale. The ambience and ocean views are spectacular and service is amazing. The food...well let's say some trips we make 2 visits juat so we can taste new options, it is so tasty and flavorable.
The food was not great. Nothing worth coming back for. On top of that the restaurant kept reminding us that they close at a certain time. I have never been rushed out of a place, very distasteful.
We went a couple of nights while in town. The food was mediocre, service was spotty, although Claudia was a star at her craft.
Great restaurant! You can see the beach, it’s so relaxing! Food is awesome!
So it’s COVID and I understand restaurants have different policies. While the food servers wore gloves, it was a bit alarming that the waiters/waitresses and manager who would bring utensils and our drinks didn’t wear gloves or sanitize in between tables. My concern is that Mexican food (e.g., tortilla chips) have dishes which are finger foods. During Covid, I would not dine there again.
Went on Taco Tuesday for $5 tacos & $5 margaritas. Tacos were yummy, margaritas not so much.
