We decided to celebrate my sisters birthday and this experience was unforgettable! Such unique fusion Mexican restaurant! The environment is amazingly furnished and the food is out of this world!! Everything we ordered made us hungry for more! We indulged in the lobster quesadillas, skirt steak, Mahi-mahi tacos, lamb Floutas and the grouper was to die for! We also loved the Don Julio CBD infused Old Fashion! I love Old Fashions and this one by far was the very BEST!

Personal thank you to Rodrigo and David who provided top notch service that made us feel like royalty! This place is a MUSTTTTT when visiting Fort Lauderdale!

You would have to be deaf to stand the music level. An assault on the ears!

Very generous in fact huge portions fajitas-we left half each- but tasteless guacamole and weird garnishes like whole cooked peppers and onions. Not your traditional fajita for sure.

Extremely poor service. Food was all overcooked. Drinks were tough to consume, as refreshing as really old lime juice can be but really poor choice for a margarita.

After reading other reviews I had high expectations for Lona Cocina, however, our experience was subpar at best. It was a poor experience from the beginning. We were seated at a table near the back where there was a lot of server traffic. I inquired if this was the kitchen door and the hostess replied no...it was. After asking a second time we were moved to a different table. It was Valentine’s Day so they were offering a special $55 menu along side their every day menu. When we sat down our waitress told us we could only order from the $55 menu because they had “run out of food” from the other menu. I asked her to ask her manager why they were only offering this menu when I had called ahead and they ensured we could order from both menus that night. She came back and said we could order off of the original menu. So they weren’t out of food, they just wanted patrons to order off of the more expensive menu for the night.
We ordered two cocktails which took over 30 minutes to receive. We ordered our food and it took over an hour to get to our table. The restaurant is ranked one of the best Mexican restaurants in Fort Lauderdale...how? The food was highly disappointing and the value did not match the price of the food. Add on top of this, it started raining and management wouldn’t lower the plastic protectors to protect patrons from getting wet. Instead, they continued to seat people in the uncovered rain. It was clear the restaurant’s management is unorganized and poorly run.
Overall, this was the worst restaurant experience and food I have ever had.

We enjoyed our Valentines dinner. My wife had grouper and I had filet mignon. They both had special mole sauces to enhance these entrees and they were fabulous. We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Ft. Lauderdale.

Valentines night date. We both enjoyed the Special Menu, four courses for $55. The Lobster Tostada was fantastic.

Our server, Krystal was excellent.

The Grouper and Beef were both prepared well.

Atmosphere is a bit noisy and the fans overhead need to be turned down. Quite the wind effect- not needed on a 75 degree night.

Went for the $5 tacos and margaritas but didn’t know if was only happening until 7pm. Sat down at 6:20 and didn’t have a server until 6:50. (We had 3 different servers come to our table in that time but no one actually served us)

We got the taco flight and it was pretty tasty.

The atmosphere is great but overall it’s a bit pricey and really underwhelming service.

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I have stayed at this Westin and dined at this restaurant several times. We were visiting again in Fort Lauderdale and decided to go back for Taco Tuesday. Needless to
say, the restaurant is no longer living up to the high standards we had at previous visits. Service was really poor and now you have to go and get your own tacos from a station. We waited over 20 minutes for the check and then another ten minutes to receive it back from the server. Our reservation was at 5 and we did not get out until almost 7:30 due to the long wait for cocktails and slow service. There were lots of staff around, but no one was really interested in trying to help each other out on a busy night. Our table was not cleared during courses and empty glasses just sat during our meal. Based on this experience, we would not return again even though the view and value are worth it on Tuesday. Service needs improvement and there needs to be a manager on the floor ensuring customers are happy.

We really enjoyed our dining experience here. The manager, Wayne, and our server, Bianka, made it extra special. If you are looking for great food across from the beach with classy beach ambiance, this is your place. Service was exceptional, even during a very busy night.

So happy I found this place today for taco Tuesday! Wayne was so welcoming when we first got here for our reservation and Ilona took great care of us afterwards. The tacos were amazing, Margaritas the BEST (I had 3) and don’t get me started on the tres leches. I will definitely be back for more and their brunch. Thank you Ilona and Wayne for the great service and hospitality!

Booked a reservation for the Taco Tuesday happy hour. Many places won’t let you make a reservation for a special like that, so that was awesome in itself. Margaritas were very good and $5 each for happy hour. The $5 tacos were delicious. Especially the pork! The regular menu looked great, so I hope to make it back. Our server, Bianka was absolutely lovely. Efficient, attentive and friendly. The outdoor patio is a great place to people watch and faces the beach.

Service was friendly but very slow. Had to ask for refills several times. Once we were told “sorry, they pulled us into a meeting.” Which it turned out was to tell servers to try to up sell customers on drinks. It was ridiculous. This was at prime dinner time and the place was about 75% full. Food was just average at best and drinks limited. Over priced.

Pork fajita was overcooked and so dry we couldn’t chew most of it. Baja fish tacos were pretty good. Service was uneven. Server paid attention at the start but almost avoided us after appetizers.

Went there to see a friend who I havent seen in awhile. Food was great. Service (our server was Ray/Rae-not sure how to spell it). She was beyond attentive. I had the enchiladas and my friend had tacos. Good value and great ambiance. Would go back again when in FTL.

Entire dining area empty but hostess made us wait outside. It was cold and windy until she could figure out what empty area to seat us in. Waiter was attentive until he got another table and then we got no service or attention to refills. Guacamole appetizer was outstanding. Shrimp fajitas had 20+shrimp but hardly ANYTHING ELSE. Lobster quesadilla was not very good. Would not go back

Service was good, they were busy, not as attentive as they should have at dinner time, dinner was very good, dessert was ok, had the chocolate cake. Had breakfast the next morning, it was excellent. Had a table outside, waiter was great. The weather was perfect.

Food and margaritas were delicious and we had an ocean front table which was great! Service was a little slow on the drinks but a little too quick on the food which left us off balance at times. However the vibe and location are great and we would definitely go back!
