Lolita Back Bay
Lolita is a bustling neighborhood cantina serving playfully authentic interpretations of traditional Mexican cuisine. The dramatic space is dark and rustic, loud with laughter and intimately lit by Murano glass chandeliers, custom stained glass and flickering candles. Bold colors, luxurious leather, graffiti art and a ceiling adorned with skulls are set against an elegant venetian backdrop. House-made flour tortillas wrap flavorful tacos and hand-crafted margaritas grace an elegant, Mexican-crafted bar. The vibrant and youthful ambiance is sexy, seductive and tailored for a night of rebellion and all out revelry.
Full Menu served until 11:00PM
Late Night Menu served until 1:00AM
Amazing! Authentic food, great service, and an overall great atmosphere. 100% will be back.
Food sucks, please improve the quality of food. Especially the chicken wings were not fresh
If I could give the service a negative rating I would. I don’t know if our server was having a bad day or not, but she was awful. We got our food before drinks, asked for more items and never received them. I have been to Lolita’s a handful of times and this time made me wonder if I should ever come back.
The atmosphere, food, and overall experience was off the charts!!! It was one of my (as well as my girlfriend’s) best dining experiences in awhile. We had a late afternoon snack and weren’t that hungry. We had the pork carnitas nachos (which was unbelievable), the cornbread, and a couple of the Lolita margaritas. Highly recommend!
What a delightfully fun place! The manager found out it was my husbands birthday and was so gracious! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere shimmered with this cool vibe of simple, yet exciting. Exceptional time had by all...thank you, Lolitas! The manager on 11/4 was the bomb—and I consider him personally responsible for our great time and his hospitality is the sole reason I do not remember his name since his communal shots of tequila did me in!! I hope that is all I forgot!!
My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and had our first experience at Lolita last weekend. We were absolutely blown away! Our waitress Jamie was incredibly knowledgable about the menu, patient with our requests, and ultimately made our dining experience spectacular! Not to mention every dish we ordered outshined the next! We had the classic guac, pork nachos, steak tacos and chicken quesadilla. 100% will be making another visit next time we are in town.
Food was great, drinks were great. Fun vibe for a night out
Incredible. Food was out of this world. Fairly priced for the quality and the service was impeccable.
This was our third visit. The occasion was a birthday. We had the best experience yet. We went a little earlier than in the past (5:30 for dinner), and there wasn't as big a push to get us in and out as when we had gone later. However, don't expect to have a leisurely meal. They probably turn the tables over three times a night.
This place is a lot of fun. Truly a unique look...almost like a victorian haunted house. It is dimly lit and really cool. And the food is absolutely amazing...as is the service. Try the street corn and the corn bread. Yummy.
The service was not good. My drink was never put in and when I asked the wait staff, she totally didn’t remember that I even ordered a drink... food wasn’t bad but very small portion, but I was not impressed with the service at all.
We had a reservation for 6:45 and were not seated by the restaurant until 7:30 with no explanation and little in the way of an apology. The bottomless taco service was slow and we were always waiting on the next dishes. While they brought us a shot at the end of the meal in an attempt to make up for it, nothing was taken off of the bill. I will not make a reservation for a group of 6 and expect to be seated on time at that restaurant again.
Mind Blowing Experience! The entire experience was amazing, from the complimentary slushy-smoking- tequila drink thing, the awesome tapas plates, top notch margaritas, to the fun cotton candy. The incredible service made it a perfect night!
Great food, wonderful service, flavorful beverages. Will go again!
Really great food, and decent service, but be prepared to lean in close and to shout at your date if you with to heard.
Fun and lively spot! Great w friends or significant other!
I haven't been there in a few years I guess the menu is different food was good but everything was very spicy and the mojito tastes like lemonade.
Loved the cotton candy and tequila pallet cleanser
Super cool atmosphere, hot spot and memorable meal. Tapas food great for sharing all delish . Great sangria and margaritas . Tuna tartare , guacamole, empanadas and carne Assad’s were all very tastey . Added surprise was the giant cotton candy complementary dessert brought to our table after our meal.
Absolutely amazing food and vibe. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The street corn and steak tacos were to die for. I would highly recommend! A++
The service was HORRIBLE.
The food was great as usual. The service was good; however, the waitress could have been slightly more attentive. When we ordered our app, we were actually ready to put in our entree order as well, but the waitress walked off before we could tell her our entree order. Also, the restaurant has a nice ambiance, but it is a tad on the dark side which makes it difficult for some to read their menus. Other than that, this place is a solid choice.
Table service was excellent. Hosts could definitely use some customer training though. Very tart and short and not welcoming at all.
Such a hip and cool vibe at Lolitas! The food was creative and yummy and the presentation was fabulous!
First visit after several attempts and didn't disappoint. Bonus points for properly made cocktails and fun complimentary snacks.
Delicious and fun! The street corn was amazing, and such a fun treat to get cotton candy at the end!!
Great find in Back Bay . Creative cuisine Terrific service .
Tyler waited on my partner and me and he was absolutely great! He was very polite and friendly, frequently checking up on us and refilling our taco shells. I felt very comfortable at the restaurant, especially because the dim lighting and candles on the table were so romantic. We are definitely coming back for a 4th time!
The food was excellent, as was the service. Everyone in our pastry really enjoyed their meals and their drinks.
Went for supper - really enjoyed it! Good bar drinks, nice sense of theatricality and some fabulous food. Service was excellent - speedy without being rushed. Highly recommended!
I usually LOVE Lolita- but this visit was awful. My friend and I made reservations and we were put in a section that had broken lights. Seriously, a whole row of tables that had no lighting. When I asked If there were lights we could turn on- I was told that they were all broken. My friend and I had to pull out our cell phones to read the menu. We finally asked to be moved and the waitress was bothered and said I had to ask a hostess, not her. And I asked her to please ask a hostess to move us. She left for ten minutes, never came back and sent a hostess to move us. Hostess was bothered and grumpy and slammed down our plates and cups and walked away. Seriously? The food is so expensive here now and the size of the portions are shrinking. Terrible service this time around. Very disappointed.
Always a blast at Lolita’s. Friendly and engaging staff. Amazing drinks & food. Ohh and the Quattro Leches Cake is to die for!!!
We were not allowed to sit and wait half of our party, this was actually not good because we all arrived to Boston different ways ( bus, train, plane and car) so we were ready at different times and 2 of us had to wait at least a 3rd for around 10 min standing at the entry. When we could have been ordering drinks and eating a few tapas while waiting. I think this was my first red flag. The 4th of us arrived with a 5th. And they actually told him they might have to take the chair from him... because was a 4th person reservation. This Restaurant might want to rethink customer service..
Beside this the food was good, the mix between spanish, american and mexican is interesting. The mushrooms al pastor were really good. We had a good time because we do not let this type of things mess our mood but seriously need to pay attention to their customers ... I think they could had easily sell twice what we consumed if they let us sit ahead and treated our 5th invitee better. We would had stayed longer ordered more.
We went for our anniversary. The vibe was upbeat and fun! A bit noisy. We had to wait five minutes to be seated and the bar was packed.
Once we were seated our waitress brought over a smoking palette cleanse which was an Icey mint, grapefruit flavor with the option of a bit of tequila.
The drink menu is fun and eclectic. I had a cava drink and my husband had a bourbon type drink. Both looked very fancy and they were delicious.
The menu is all small plates. We ordered from plate and they come out as they are ready. While you are waiting you get cups and three different salsa to munch on. The chips were slightly thick and crunchy and the salsa were unique but delicious also.
The first plate to arrive was the corn. oMG out of this world. It is a corn on the cob which is grilled and covered in cheese, butter and herbs. TO DIE FOR!!! Next was a shrimp dish in a skillet. Again outstanding perfectly cooked with black beans, cheese and spices. Our cauliflower tacos were super unique and the flavors where balanced. The cauliflower has a meaty texture and the toppings had a yummy vinegar crunch. Finally our steak was the final plate. We asked for medium and it came out more of a medium rare but the flavors were perfect. All four dishes we completely enjoyed.
Since it was our anniversary the manager surprised us with his fav dessert and two glasses of champagne. Wow what an amazing touch. And dessert of course was outstanding (forget what it was)
The end of the meal Lolita serves a cotton candy with pop rocks. How fun!!
Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. We can’t wait to return.
Good food and great service but the music was way too loud, especially later in the evening.
Amazing cocktails, delicious food, fun ambiance. we love lolita.
The menu and food are excellent. Nice touches, such as the complimentary frozen tequila palate cleanser, cotton candy, and tattoos. The décor is great with a very unique vibe. The lighting is too dark to read the menu though. It is always very loud, so not the best place if you want to hold a conversation.
Great, fun, dining in Boston. This was our first visit to Lolita and there are surprises in store when you visit this lively cantina. The guac trio was great and is a must try. Salsa was tasty and the entrees were amazing. As a finish to our meal, we were presented with a gi-normous cotton candy to share. Although I haven't had cotton candy in years, we took on the challenge and enjoyed it very much. Fun place to unwind after a hectic day at work.
We got the cauliflower tacos and a starter of guacamole. So delicious. The pitcher of the spicy cucumber marg was to die for. Also tried the white lie- sweet and smooth (not too sweet) and delicious.
