Lolita is definitely a fun night out. From the cool atmosphere to the unexpected surprises including a smoking granita to start the evening (fueled by dry ice and optional complimentary tequila) and a towering cotton candy sprinkled with pop rocks accompanying the bill. Our food was all fantastic, starting with the complimentary chips and three different dipping sauces. We tried the empanadas and the bacon-laced guacamole, both of which were great. We added the chicken thighs and the Carne Asada. Portions were billed as small plates but were more than generous as an entree. For a Wednesday night, the place was buzzing. Will definitely be back!
This was my first time at Lolita Back Bay and it was an amazing experience! I went with a friend and am glad we made reservations, the wait without them on a Sunday was almost 2 hours!! I highly recommend their margaritas, I had the frozen strawberry one myself. The shrimp tacos were awesome! Huge pieces of shrimp and a very delicious combo of sweet and savory with pineapples and sour cream. At the end of the meal, they bring you complementary sour apple cotton candy with pop rocks, so cool! Great date spot and an awesome vibe for a get together with friends. I will be back!
our waitress was excellent! very attentive and kept the chips comin'!
Great food, drinks, and an overall good value especially compared with the other local options. This made for a really fun night out with the girls. Drinks were excellent especially the cucumber margaritas. The guacamole was delicious. Highly recommend!
Both hostesses were rude and standoffish. Several tables were empty (for the entirety of the 2 hours we were there) and we asked to sit at a different table and they refused us. Our waitress was wonderful though!
Lolita's had a lot of special touches that made our night amazing!
Our food was amazing but the server was even better!!!!
Great place for Valentine’s Day! Strawberry basil mojitos and street corn don’t sound like date night dinner, but they were amazing. Loved the tequila granita and pop rocks at the end of the meal!
I was there for the all you can eat taco night with my family visiting from Florida.Great decor & yummy Aguas frescas!
We really enjoyed Lolita's. Margaritas were fantastic. The food was great and prices were reasonable - better than I expected.
Hands down the most outstanding Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in Boston. Highly recommend to all searching for a date night restaurant or somewhere to celebrate a special occasion! The taquitos and steak tacos were amazing!
I was here Saturday night with a party of 10 to celebrate my birthday. Although the food and drinks were great the service was an absolute disaster. When we arrived for our 8:30 reservation we were forced to wait an additional hour. I had made this reservation a full month ahead of time and I was even notified the day of by the restaurant to make sure that I arrive to my reservation on time. When I approached the manager to see what was the hold up he simply said "there is a party that has paid their check but they just aren't moving so it could be an additional 45 minutes we just don't know" (on top of the 1 hour we already waited). I just felt like this situation could have been handled differently and that they should have already had our table reserved and ready for us 10 minutes before arrival. I will definitely think twice before making another reservation here.
Our waiter was absolutely amazing! It was my daughters birthday and we were spending the day in Boston. She had done some research and found this restaurant. He charged the teen girls phones for them and took a picture with them (they may have thought he was attractive). I had mentioned it was her birthday at the beginning and he remembered at the end! Only downfall was truly bringing two picky teens to this restaurant. Not meant for those what are picky or not willing to try new things.
My first visit to Lolita's did not disappoint - great vibe and service and interesting menu that presents Mexican food in more of a tapas context. The Mexican street corn, shrimp, and pork ribs were all superb. The restaurant provides a couple freebies that were nice - home made chips with three different dips and a sorbet that can be infused with tequila at your option. We both ordered a specialized cocktail - a bourbon mash and a spicy cucumber margerita Those who want enchiladas or would like a quiet date, look elsewhere.
We went for taco night and it’s amazing! Great quality and the drinks were delicious. Do wish the beef is less greasy though but it was the best tasing spices wise. The multiple types of sauces and tequila grapefruit ice was unique.
