Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar Ratings and Reviews
Service was amazing. Tapas style. Gaelic shrimp tacos, hot chicken taco, emanadas and carne asada. All was delicious. BlackBerry Sangria was definitely one of the best I’ve had. Cuatro leches cake and churros of course! Complimentary cotton candy was just the icing on the cake! Traveled from Western Mass and will definitely make the trip again soon!
Sooo good! Make sure you make a reservation if you're here for lunch/ dinner/ late night menu because the line is usually very long on the weekends! Ambiance is great, margaritas were delicious, and the food was absolutely amazing - especially recommend the pork carnitas tacos and the chicken quesadillas, as well as any of the guacamole options!
I thought the bean salad was delicious as were the cauliflower tacos (although I had to cut the pieces of cauliflower into smaller ones in order to hold them in the tortilla- but delicious!)
Chips stayed warm for a long time and all salsas that came with chips were a treat!
A favorite for my wife and I. It’s a young crowd and we love it, even though we are in our sixties. The atmosphere is great and the food is excellent. We especially like the grilled corn and pork ribs. The palate cleanser and cotton candy are a fun touch. Also enjoy the new tequila shot at the table presentation. We come to Boston once a year and always reserve a table at Lolita’s.
From the complementary granita palette-cleanser to the complementary cotton candy ending
everything was delicious. The tomatillo-cilantro salsa was the best green salsa I have ever had.
The poblano red salsa was just as good! I enjoyed it all. I will definitely return the next time I am in Boston. Get a reservation early!
We have loved it here in the past but this visit wasn't the best. We found some of the food very salty... chips and empanadas especially. Also some lacked flavor such as the steak taco and street corn... the corn may actually have been overcooked or not the freshest. The server was friendly but service was slow. Ordered everything at once since it took over 10 minutes to be greeted. Drinks arrived after food. Return of change when paying took several minutes... we had to ask two people before we got it. Overall the experience there for a first time guest is great between the palate cleanser, dips and cotton candy, however for return guests it is lacking.
We were 20 minutes late for our reservation due to a flight delay but I was grateful that the staff still accommodated us despite the busy line on a Saturday night. Perhaps not the best place to take my mother for dinner in Boston - extremely loud and very young scene. The food and service however was really very good.
After reading the reviews from several different sites, I was a bit hesitant that two (almost) middle-aged non-city people would fit in, in this dimly lit (and loud) spot...but I was very pleasantly surprised. We made 5:30 reservations for a Saturday but ended up arriving at 5:00 due to less traffic, and we were given the option of waiting at the bar or being seated immediately. After a quick drink at the bar to pass a little time, we went back to the front desk and were immediately seated to a nice corner table.
I wish I would have noted our waitresses name, but she was excellent! When I let her know it was our first visit there, she explained everything to us. She was extremely pleasant, polite and attentive throughout our entire dinner and boxed up all of our leftovers quickly and courteously.
We ordered the fried chicken feast (which states it feeds two) but we barely made a dent...It was delicious, as was the street corn snack! I wouldn't hesitate to order both items again, I would just be sure to bring a larger appetite! For the amount of food served, the price was very reasonable as well.
All of the staff that we dealt with were very friendly, from the bartender at the packed bar, to the waiter who directed us to the non-marked hallway where the restrooms were located. It was just starting to hit their busy time of the night - so perhaps we lucked out, but I would recommend Lolita Cocina and Tequila Bar to anyone looking for a nice night out!
As long as you are aware that this is 100% a hotspot and is 100% tapas, you will LOVE it. I brought my mom and future MIL here after wedding dress shopping, so I don't think this was quite our scene. It was incredibly loud, we were surrounded by people waiting to get a drink at the bar, and we had to order a ton of food to successfully fill us. That being said, the drinks and the food were amazing- we loved everything we got, right up to the cotton candy with poprocks. It was truly an experience and I can't wait to come back with my girlfriends for a fun night out!
What a brilliant atmosphere! I booked this restaurant for my Partners 30th Birthday on our visit to Boston and we loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful, the service was great and the food was to die for.
Also the extra special touched with the palate cleanser to start and candy floss to finish it was just brilliant.
Also definitely try the tequila :-)
I would recommend to dine here, just make sure you book as they were very busy.
