Lolita Back Bay
Lolita is a bustling neighborhood cantina serving playfully authentic interpretations of traditional Mexican cuisine. The dramatic space is dark and rustic, loud with laughter and intimately lit by Murano glass chandeliers, custom stained glass and flickering candles. Bold colors, luxurious leather, graffiti art and a ceiling adorned with skulls are set against an elegant venetian backdrop. House-made flour tortillas wrap flavorful tacos and hand-crafted margaritas grace an elegant, Mexican-crafted bar. The vibrant and youthful ambiance is sexy, seductive and tailored for a night of rebellion and all out revelry.
Full Menu served until 11:00PM
Late Night Menu served until 1:00AM
Lolitas is always a hit, the ambiance really makes the whole experience. The tapas style food is really good and a great idea for date night.
This place was amazing! Waiter was awesome! Great customer service! Great vibe and unique food and drinks!!
Service is terrible; they are very very slow. Offered the margarita in a cracked glass; I am very happy that my daughter did not cut her lips. They shouldn't have charged us for that margarita but they did. This is an extremely expensive restaurant which is not worth the money. Also, their music taste is very bad.
Zucchini fritter tacos were too salty, otherwise very good
Had a fun experience and loved the cocktails and ambiance though it was a bit loud for an intimate date conversation.
We loved Lolita’s. Right off Newberry St. Interesting darkish atmosphere, but very lively and vibrant. The food is small plates that were all delicious. We had quesadillas, fish tacos and a delicious shrimp dish. Really some of the best Mexican food we’ve had. Service was good and prices were reasonable. I had a chocolate dessert that I loved. Only down was no decaf coffee, but that’s just me.
Came here for a birthday. The restaurant is nice and the food is good, upscale Mexican/South American food and wonderful cocktails. It’s a very popular spot, so definitely make a reservation and don’t expect a quiet atmosphere. My only real complaint is that service was very slow. Over all it was a nice experience with fantastic food and drinks.
First time in Boston and looked up top restuarants. Came across Lolita Back Bay and decided to try it with my colleague. SO glad we did. Great food, amazing drinks and loved the cotton candy & fake tattoos. Definitely a must try while in Boston
Always a great time! Beautiful venue, great service, and fantastic food and drinks. Highly recommend!
Best restaurant in Boston!
Birthday it was great!
great food, great service. LOUD though, very, very loud. loved the fish tacos.
It was a pretty stressful dining experience over all. It was unreasonbly dark which made reading the menu unreasonably hard. Definitely would not recommend for big parties. We were charged for things we didn’t order and our server took a ridiculously long time to come back just so we could ask for the bill. And then we had to wait a ridiculously long time to get the bill. We went on a Tuesday night. So it’s not like it was peak.
Live in the Philadelphia area but this is my third visit to Lolita’s. Moved one of my twin daughters into Emerson College and had a farewell dinner here with her, her roommate and roommates family. They loved it as well! Fun place, great drinks, tasty menu!
I've been to this restaurant multiple times and service has been "okay" but I enjoyed the cocktails and ambiance. I made reservations for my brother's birthday this week and was hoping to have a great experience. It was just the opposite. Service was horrible. Two of the drinks that I really wanted were not available. The frozen margarita machine was not up and running on the hottest day of the year. The waitress was super slow and inattentive. We had one round of drinks and left. I was super annoyed. I doubt if go back anytime soon. Oh and two drinks was $40. That's a high price for poor service.
The food here was amazing, with unique and delicious vegetarian options. The cocktails were creative and well made. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The whole restaurant has a very fun, cool atomosphere to it with unique before and after meal novelties.
This was one of the best meals I have had in Boston—and I have had many awesome meals! Delicious—as someone with celiac, they were very knowledgeable about gluten and I had know concern about eating. Also amazing margaritas and sangria! LOVED
My fiancé and I got a table and there was people standing around our table. Those people left their drink on our table which I thought was really rude and the waitress did took the drink away. But to have some strangers leaning on your table in your chairs ruined my dinner experience. They were clearly drunk, I wish I got the inner table instead of the outer.
Other than that the food was delicious the waitress was attentive.
Celebrating a friend’s bday. Great waitress and customer service. Wished we had a seat with more lighting but I guess that’s part of the overall decor.
Lolita brings energy to their dining experience through fun add-ons like iced tequila to cleanse your palate before you eat, and cotton candy covered in popping candies to end your meal. I love sharing food at this place since most items are on the smaller side. You can't go wrong with splitting a bunch of the tacos. I've never had one I didn't like! The drinks are also delightful and unique. Always enjoy my meals here.
probably the last time I will visit lolita.... the service was poor, food started coming out before the drinks we had ordered. Sat at a table that wasnt set... someone in my party had to have their chair wiped down and asked because there was food all over it.. waitress wouldnt write anything down but forgot everything and kept having to ask
Unfortunately our service ruined the experience of the amazing food and ambience. Our glasses were empty, our plates forgotten. We waited 45 minutes for our second bottle of wine, the plates came before the guacamole because they had forgotten it! The server was apologetic and nice, but it couldn't make up for it. Our friends at a different table ordered two drinks at a time because the servers couldn't keep up. HIRE MORE STAFF!
It is very dark and loud inside but they have a good selection of drinks and it's a unique environment to eat dinner. Not a good place for a first date because it is loud and hard to hear each other sometimes.
The staff was friendly and quick to take my order and serve my food. The atmosphere was very energetic and fun with a young crowd. I ordered the nachos with chicken and guacamole. The nachos were too soggy with sour cream and the chicken tasted as if it was boiled in water. I would recommend to the restaurant to get rid of the sour cream, add more guacamole, lettuce, some beans and cheese. The sour cream just completely ruins the dish making it soggy. Use some roasted or baked chicken. The hibiscus drink was too sweet. The green and red salsas were way too mild. There should be some medium and hot choices for those with less sensitive pallets. The creamy salsa was just right in terms of spiciness.
Street Corn was delicious. Lots of vegetarian options.
Very good food served nicely. The noise level was off the charts, and this on a Monday during summer! Partly unavoidable, although being seated next to a group of 8 20-30 year old women out to celebrate something might have prompted staff to situate us in a better place where we would be able to talk with each other.
Love Lolita’s, great vibe and food is good. Disappointed it’s going into tapas. Our server was horrible
The food was the best part. The hostess and bartender were super lame "hipsters" w weird attitudes. Luckily, our waitress was great. The cornbread and the grilled shrimp were excellent. Food overall was a bit over salted but really great flavors.
The service was spectacular, food was great, for 2 of us we just got a bunch of different things off the menu and shared everything.
My waitress was amazing and literally the most patient person! The hostess are always not as pleasant at the location on Dartmouth. The guy who was checking ids was extremely rude and was the reason to ruin my experience.
Great food, great vibes
One of the best meals I have eaten. This is a must visit. Guaranteed good food and atmosphere. An experience you will not forget.
It was our 20th anniversary. We came to Boston for the weekend. Lolita’s was recommended. Everything about it was awesome! Would definitely recommend.
Awesome! Such a fun experience and such great food too!
Was very impressed by the food and decor. Service was slow which was not terrible but the amount of time we waited to have old plates and empty drink glasses removed was unacceptable. We even specifically asked to have them removed and still had to wait.
Absolutely LOVE Lolita in Back Bay. The food is amazing (try the Los Tres Guac) and the cocktails are really good. Apart from that, just being there is an experience throughout the meal: free chips with great sauces, a palate cleanser with tequila at the beginning of the meal, and a great detail with the cotton candy at the end. The place is also beautiful, very dark but a great atmosphere.
Had a great meal here! But be careful, it’s easy to overorder because everything looks so tasty and leave incredibly full. The ceviche is fantastic! This is not a quiet venue.
Came up from NYC to see Moulin Rouge and it was suggested by my sister who has been several times.
Excellent place, great food (if you like mexican), super cozy and we had the luck to be attended by Isabel, the greatest waitress in that restaurant, making my family (me, hubby and 3 sons) feel special!!!
Our waitress was a delight and our food was just what the doctor order.
