Lolita Back Bay
Lolita is a bustling neighborhood cantina serving playfully authentic interpretations of traditional Mexican cuisine. The dramatic space is dark and rustic, loud with laughter and intimately lit by Murano glass chandeliers, custom stained glass and flickering candles. Bold colors, luxurious leather, graffiti art and a ceiling adorned with skulls are set against an elegant venetian backdrop. House-made flour tortillas wrap flavorful tacos and hand-crafted margaritas grace an elegant, Mexican-crafted bar. The vibrant and youthful ambiance is sexy, seductive and tailored for a night of rebellion and all out revelry.
Full Menu served until 11:00PM
Late Night Menu served until 1:00AM
Who knew Mexican food could be sexy?
Sure we couldn’t see our hands in front of our face because it was so dark, but there’s something cool about experiencing your food without knowing EXACTLY what you are eating.
Drinks were fire, our bouches were amused by a frozen tequila treat, and we capped off the meal with tangy and sweet green apple cotton candy.
If you want to go here, be sure to book FAR in advance. I booked 3 weeks out for our party and it was still almost fully booked.
Lolita is delicious and fun, the prices are a bit high (to be expected of a restaurant in Back Bay), but there are little free perks with the dinner. Definitely a worthy place to spend a night out.
Amazing food, great service..
No ambiance. Very loud. Like eating at Back Bay Station at rush hour. Food good, with exception of complimentary, appalling cotton candy dessert. Very young crowd. If you are over 60, expect to feel ancient.
It was great
Food was great and drinks were amazing. The service was so so it could have been better in my opinion
Great spot. Difficult to get in without a reservation well in advance. Miss the old menu - it was far more extensive and inventive than the new limited menu.
All food was tasty although we did not care for the Hibachi shrimps.
The music was very load, to load for a pleasant conversation.
Always a good experience! Their drinks are incredible and their food is perfect to sample and share.
My only complaint would be the seating/size of the table. The service and food was great but our table did get congested. We ordered the tacos, so between all the fixings there was just not enough space, even though the server was attentive and cleared as necessary.
Good food, fun setting. Only place I'd be happy to eat past ten pm and enjoy!
Great, attentive wait staff despite the chaos which is much appreciated.
Such a great experience! The food was incredible, the service was great and the restaurant itself has a great ambience. Highly recommended!!
Great place. Amazing food. Strong vibe. But music a bit too loud.
We loved the place. Food was very good. Drinks reasonable and a very cool vibe to the place
Lolita’s is always a favorite spot, when I can get a reservation. I’ve been here three times now, all the experiences have been similar. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving this past time, since I was able to snag the last reservation on a Saturday night! The lighting is very dark, which is ok for me, maybe not the best suited for everyone. The music is very loud, which is also ok for me, but I wouldn’t come here if you’re looking for a quiet romantic evening. The food never disappoints. The complimentary chips were hot and fresh and salsas are also delicious. My boyfriend and I got a shrimp dish and chicken quesadillas. The shrimp was outstanding, the quesadillas also good. However, the downfall every visit here is the service! Our waitress was almost non existent.
Our waitress was awesome, the food was some of the best we’ve had, and the ambiance was fun for a late night dinner. One of our favorite places to go!
The food was not we expected . Small plate and it appears to be an appetizer. If you are going to drink and grab a bite along it’s a good place. Not for a quality food and quantity
Amazing atmosphere and food. Food is unique and tastes amazing! They bring this cool blended mix to each table and cotton candy to end the meal. So memorable!!
My boyfriend proposed to me 😭 I made the reservation but you guys had the perfect timing and perfect presentation. We had one of our first dates at Lolita, our anniversaries at Lolita, and now our engagement. You are always a 10/10! Thank you for the most delicious champagne- we’ll never forget it!
Amazing! Authentic food, great service, and an overall great atmosphere. 100% will be back.
Food sucks, please improve the quality of food. Especially the chicken wings were not fresh
If I could give the service a negative rating I would. I don’t know if our server was having a bad day or not, but she was awful. We got our food before drinks, asked for more items and never received them. I have been to Lolita’s a handful of times and this time made me wonder if I should ever come back.
The atmosphere, food, and overall experience was off the charts!!! It was one of my (as well as my girlfriend’s) best dining experiences in awhile. We had a late afternoon snack and weren’t that hungry. We had the pork carnitas nachos (which was unbelievable), the cornbread, and a couple of the Lolita margaritas. Highly recommend!
What a delightfully fun place! The manager found out it was my husbands birthday and was so gracious! The food was outstanding and the atmosphere shimmered with this cool vibe of simple, yet exciting. Exceptional time had by all...thank you, Lolitas! The manager on 11/4 was the bomb—and I consider him personally responsible for our great time and his hospitality is the sole reason I do not remember his name since his communal shots of tequila did me in!! I hope that is all I forgot!!
My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and had our first experience at Lolita last weekend. We were absolutely blown away! Our waitress Jamie was incredibly knowledgable about the menu, patient with our requests, and ultimately made our dining experience spectacular! Not to mention every dish we ordered outshined the next! We had the classic guac, pork nachos, steak tacos and chicken quesadilla. 100% will be making another visit next time we are in town.
Food was great, drinks were great. Fun vibe for a night out
Incredible. Food was out of this world. Fairly priced for the quality and the service was impeccable.
This was our third visit. The occasion was a birthday. We had the best experience yet. We went a little earlier than in the past (5:30 for dinner), and there wasn't as big a push to get us in and out as when we had gone later. However, don't expect to have a leisurely meal. They probably turn the tables over three times a night.
This place is a lot of fun. Truly a unique look...almost like a victorian haunted house. It is dimly lit and really cool. And the food is absolutely amazing...as is the service. Try the street corn and the corn bread. Yummy.
The service was not good. My drink was never put in and when I asked the wait staff, she totally didn’t remember that I even ordered a drink... food wasn’t bad but very small portion, but I was not impressed with the service at all.
We had a reservation for 6:45 and were not seated by the restaurant until 7:30 with no explanation and little in the way of an apology. The bottomless taco service was slow and we were always waiting on the next dishes. While they brought us a shot at the end of the meal in an attempt to make up for it, nothing was taken off of the bill. I will not make a reservation for a group of 6 and expect to be seated on time at that restaurant again.
Mind Blowing Experience! The entire experience was amazing, from the complimentary slushy-smoking- tequila drink thing, the awesome tapas plates, top notch margaritas, to the fun cotton candy. The incredible service made it a perfect night!
Great food, wonderful service, flavorful beverages. Will go again!
Really great food, and decent service, but be prepared to lean in close and to shout at your date if you with to heard.
Fun and lively spot! Great w friends or significant other!
I haven't been there in a few years I guess the menu is different food was good but everything was very spicy and the mojito tastes like lemonade.
Loved the cotton candy and tequila pallet cleanser
Super cool atmosphere, hot spot and memorable meal. Tapas food great for sharing all delish . Great sangria and margaritas . Tuna tartare , guacamole, empanadas and carne Assad’s were all very tastey . Added surprise was the giant cotton candy complementary dessert brought to our table after our meal.
Absolutely amazing food and vibe. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The street corn and steak tacos were to die for. I would highly recommend! A++
