Lolinda Ratings and Reviews
I have to say that Lolinda may be the finest restaurant in the Bay Area or at least SF without the finest restaurant price. They call themselves a steakhouse, and when you look at the menu it looks nothing like your classic steakhouse. But the dishes are all terrific, and they have perhaps the best tasting steak anywhere. Their 18 ounce bone-in ribeye was so tasty, it's still lingering with me several days later. Oh, but they have bone marrow and sweatbreads on the menu, too. And they're oh so delicious. They have a wonderful hearts of palm salad and the dressing was so delicious, if they just served me more salad I could eat that for dinner (with the dressing, of course). Great cocktails are their specialty. And the 50/50 Gin Martini is something unique for the classic gin martini lovers. Every dish gets better and better! And what a fun place it is. It's packed. The people know when a great restaurant exists and they come and fill it up. Sure, it's in the Mission District on Mission Street, and the neighborhood isn't great. So you'll get a good whiff of pot on at the entrance to the restaurant, but if that enhances your appetite, you're in for a treat. Come hungry, and you'll leave satisfied paying about 2/3 of what you would at Ruth's Chris or another similar restaurant. Lolinda's is great!
Lolinda is a mainstay on my lists for my girl and I, my buddies and I, or for recommending to those in town. Don't overload on the starters, are great as they are, because you need the open space to enjoy your steak, as you should.
Lolinda has always been a favorite of mine. I asked for my ribeye to be as rare as possible and our waitress made that happen. In her exact words, she had it "MOO-ING" at us! I highly recommend the artichoke. The lemon aioli sauce is a perfect pair for the charred/smokey flavor and serves as a perfect starter. Not filling to the point where it ruins your appetite for the main course! Last but certainly not least, you can NEVER go wrong with the ceviche mixto. The fried corn fritter served on the side may be my favorite thing on the menu! Down to the veggies... Every bite is flavorful and delicious.
The cocktails were made well and the ambiance is great. Dim lighting, rustic/masculine appeal and the food was absolutely delicious. The hubby and I had the squash and chicken empanadas, the mixed ceviche, pulpo dish and the asado mixto. At the end the Server (whom was very attentive) brought out a nice birthday cake to celebrate my husband’a birthday (the cake was alright), thankfully we also ordered the Alfajores cookies and Milk which was absolutely delicious. You can have the milkshake spiked but we were driving so chose not to.
Outstanding restaurant and a good find for us, visiting from Canada. Waitress was wonderful, and gave us very good recommendations. Wait time was not too long. Next time, we would request a table a little more on its own, rather than in between 2 other groups. Would go back for sure.
Had a great first time dinner at this restaurant in the heart of the Mission district. Shared plates worked out very well for us. Service was efficient and friendly. Interesting wine list with some good by the glass selections. Prices for food and drinks are not out of line for a popular place in mid-SF. Only negative related to our night there was the noise level - quite high which makes it difficult to carry on a conversation at times. Other than that a very enjoyable dinner. We'll be back.
Wonderful food and good service. It is very noisy though. We had the Spanish Octopus, chicken empanadas and the pork chop. Everything was wonderful. The chef grilled the octopus as they do in Argentina. We also had the pork belly, which was very good but the other three were outstanding. The people next to us highly recommended the Ono ceviche, they said it was the best ceviche they had ever had.
