Lolinda Ratings and Reviews
Had a great first time dinner at this restaurant in the heart of the Mission district. Shared plates worked out very well for us. Service was efficient and friendly. Interesting wine list with some good by the glass selections. Prices for food and drinks are not out of line for a popular place in mid-SF. Only negative related to our night there was the noise level - quite high which makes it difficult to carry on a conversation at times. Other than that a very enjoyable dinner. We'll be back.
Wonderful food and good service. It is very noisy though. We had the Spanish Octopus, chicken empanadas and the pork chop. Everything was wonderful. The chef grilled the octopus as they do in Argentina. We also had the pork belly, which was very good but the other three were outstanding. The people next to us highly recommended the Ono ceviche, they said it was the best ceviche they had ever had.
went to celebrate a birthday. food was fantastic. service was faster than fast and our waitperson knew how to present the menu so we, first timers, would have a nice meal. very crowded because salesforce conference in town. noise was high because of the crowd. only bad thing for me was the very low lighting. hard to read menu and review check.
Very good overall experience. Food was excellent and the service was very friendly and attentive. The butter squash empanadas were delicious. The table shared the pork chop and the ribeye steak. Both were grilled perfectly. I only wish the table lighting would have been a little brighter. I had difficulty reading the menu. We will definitely return to try other items on the menu.
The food was ok. Though during dinner my husband mentioned that I cook steak better than the restaurant did. Everything was over charred and undercooked. The wait for our food was simply too long. Almost an hour for our mains to arrive. The drinks at the bar were good.
Stepping into this restaurant off the Mission district was like entering a whole new world. It was so spacious inside and the seating was perfect. Groups were not too cramped together and each table felt like they had their own private space. I mean, that's how I felt as I was celebrating my husband's birthday. The service was one of the best I ever had. Our waitress always anticipated what we needed next and as soon as we finished the tapas, someone would come to clear our plates, and then give us more food. The same thing happened with drinks. Food was amazing. Definitely get the croquettes!!! They were our faves. Cocktails were delicious as well. We had plans right after dinner or we would have gone up to the rooftop, soo.... I will be coming back soon!
The food was very good, but it was tough to get past the incredibly rude host that "welcomed"our party when we arrived. She make it clear she could not have cared less that customers were arriving to patronize the place. Dismissive, brusque, no smile. When we were finally seated we were told that we'd better be done eating by 9:00pm. It was nearly 7:30pm, and this isn't a fast food joint. Talk about putting a damper on things. Then as we finished, just before 9pm, the place was half empty. Not sure what the rush and bad attitude was all about, since clearly our tiny table for three was not needed for later diners. The staff working the front of the house need some serious retraining.
Finally we got a reservation to this popular Argentine restaurant. Everything was terrific from our waiter’s suggestion to the succulent grilled Pulpa. We tried the ceviche micro, yucca fries with our entre and enjoyed the home made churros for desert. We will return again.
My husband and I were immediately and graciously served a glass of champagne to help us start our evening celebrating our anniversary. Our waitress gave us wonderful suggestions of things to try. I really enjoyed the beef empanadas. Our pork chop was juicy and the char on it was perfect. Not burned just carmelizing the outer edge and seal in the juices. The cauliflower was roasted well and the pork belly was good, especially with a bit of jalapeno but not great. The noise level is loud, and I wish my husband and I could have sat closer together but that's just us.
We went for my husband's birthday. This is what we ordered: Croquetas, Chiles a la Parilla, Entrana skirt steak, Asado Mixto, Ensalada Rusa and Yuca Fries. The Ensalad Rusa was okay, but everything else was really good. For dessert we ordered the cookies, flan and churros. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! My only complaint is the restaurant is a little dark. Nevertheless, we can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu (e.g. octopus, pork belly, bone marrow).
Lolinda was great. Food fantastic- Noted, was that this was a birthday celebration and although they mentioned that they would do something nice, they must have forgotten- and so did I, after the drinks. I did see the b-day candle at a different table. Our waitress was was super sweet and attentive. I didn't expect it to be so loud but my party was okay with it. A bustling, younger crowd. I'll take my son and a couple of his friends. Thanks for an overall good time!
Fantastic meal at Lolinda. Sampled lots of delicious items on the menu, ceviche, empanadas, skirt steak, roasted cauliflower, grilled shrimp and churros! Loved it all. Fancy pisco cocktail was amazing. Our waiter, Spencer was also fantastic. Only points lost was bathrooms were out of paper supplies - not good. Room was REALLY loud, maybe adds to the energy level? Overall, loved it, we'll be back.
