Great food, friendly waitstaff, quaint building. Definitely will go back
We’ve been wanting to eat at Lolas for awhile now and finally were able to make a reservation. We were very disappointed! I tried to stay open minded even after it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. I tried to be considerate of the fact that it’s hard to find good employees now, but I saw at least 3 waitresses outside which seemed like sufficient for the amount of tables. We sat at 6:45 and our first drinks arrived after 7:15. I was offered bread and butter, as a preapp, but it came as the appetizers arrived. The whipped butter was basically garlic with a touch of butter. Then, the waitress stared at me as I scoffed down the last bite of my appetizer when the Paella came out! We were also very disappointed with our $51 plate of Paella! It was rice with a very small amount of seafood. We will not be going back to Lolas for dinner!
The interior has been redone and the comfort level is just “ ok” on the benches. The Simon paintings are missing and so is some of the “fun and funky” vibe and the friendliness of the staff is subdued.
The food however, is still FABULOUS! Even with the limited “Ida” menu, the paella was WONDERFUL as was the garlic shrimp. The almond nougat ice cream is also just the same delicious treat as before.
Excellent neighborhood dining experience. Great food and prompt, very friendly service.
Wonderful drinks and food with great staff and an incredible ambiance. This was my second visit and just as good, if not better than the first!
Loved every aspect!!
Great food! Since it is paella, it does take longer to cook than most foods. However, this makes it a perfect place to converse with friends over a bottle of wine.
This place surely has gone downhill. Used to be great. Took 20 min for drinks, 30 min for appetizers (cheese plate and ceviche with stale chips), paella was good. Sat outside with mosquitoes biting us....had to ask for bug spray. Drinks were tasty and were the best part. Wont go back anytime soon.
Asked to reseat, and then enjoyed being out front. Most of the dishes were very sauce heavy. Enjoyed the music. Service was very attentive until it was time did the check…felt like hours.
Always dependable, with lots of flavor and imagination. Small plates are great! And Ryan is a terrific server.
Lola’s was such a great experience. Can’t go wrong with sangria and paella!!!!
Thank you for the awesome food and experience.
Has been a go to of mine for over 20 years. I love this place!
Great tasty fresh food. Amazing ambiance. Will definitely be back. Loved it!
While there was a thunderstorm that first shut down the power/internet upon arrival, the team was very honest and pleasant while waiting. (We arrived all wet from the rain). Once they were able to serve, the food was true to its origins. I loved the ceviche, the paella was great and the sangria was excellent. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. I was full but got tempted by the Nougat ice cream... not disappointed. A nice place to discover !
Great but too many flies at outdoor seating. Fans would help greatly.
The hostess, Cassidy, is extremely accommodating and tried her best to get us a table despite our last minute changes. The red sangria is excellent, though we didn’t get a chance to try the white. The garlic shrimp and mushrooms are a must try. We also had the seafood and meat paella, which was extremely fresh and flavorful. The only heads up I can give is to outdoor dining. When we received our food, flies swarmed upon us and we had to cover the paellas with napkins. Would definitely recommend indoor dining instead, the experience was excellent overall.
Way too expensive for the amount and quality of food.
Nice people, authentic, reasonable! Loved our waiter. Only recommendation is to change music to perhaps classical Spanish guitar,
. Seemed very Latino instead of Spanish on the music background!
Atmosphere is great, especially sitting outside. We had the paella (combination). Flavors were ok but the arborio rice was undercooked, and there was no crusty soccarat. I still will give this restaurant another try as I do like the atmosphere and like supporting the local restaurants.
Whenever I come to New Orleans , Lola’s is a must. The place is wonderful. Food is amazing .
The food was amazing and had the most beautiful quaint atmosphere and we were looking for this type of experience. Lively but not too loud and beautiful evening. The crabmeat appetizer, shrimp pasta dish and feadeua was so so good! Drinks were excellent and service superior! We will be back when we return again!
If your looking for great Spanish food, this is the place to go. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. I highly recommend the paella and the crabmeat tropical appetizer.
Extremely disappointing. There are too many great places to waste time and money on this. We will never be back.
It had been quite a long time since my wife and I ate here . The other couple had never been here . We ordered a myriad of appetizers and entrees . Everyone was pleased with their food . We all ate our savory food and could find room for desert . Very pleasing
Busy but solid meal and service.
Wonderful setting in Bayou St. John, the small plates and larger plates easy to share. Good for meat eaters and vegans. Great spot to meet friends or celebrate special moments.
We love Lola’s! Beautiful and relaxing atmosphere!! The food is wonderful! Our only disappointment was there was no more half price wine on Wednesday… we really loved that!!! Bring it back, please!
Really enjoyed brunch. Sorry to hear that it will be going away for a while.
We were advised by our waitress when she came to take our order that they were waiting for their paella cook to come in. When we asked when the paella cook was expected to come in, the waitress went to check and came back and advised us that the paella cook would not be coming in and they would not be serving paella. We left without ordering anything as the sole reason for going to Lola's was for the paella.
Initially had indoor reservations but weather was so nice, the maitre d allowed us to switch to outside which was greatly appreciated! Waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and food was extremely good!
Very unique experience. Cozy and great ambiance. Food was terrific.
It was great!
Fun and friendly mid-city spot for wine and wonderful paella and my first taste of fideua. This noodle version of paella was delicious the night of and even better the next day. My husband liked his mussels and seafood paella as well. Super attentive service and beautiful outdoor dining under the trees.
Tonight was our first time to eat here. We were celebrating a buddies birthday and had a fantastic meal and service was excellent.. we will be back!
The server was attentive and checked back often. She did let us know it would take 45 minutes for our entrée to be prepared. The food was pretty good, terrible drinks. The table was cramped.
Father’s Day lunch was wonderful. We had reserved for 2 pm but arrived almost an hour early and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious and the server ensured that our bottomless mimosas did not run out. Even when it started raining, our server was quickly able to move us to the covered area, since we were seated in the open area outdoors.
We tried their burger, a bocadillo sandwich, the fried stuffed pork appetizer, and flan. While I was disappointed at the limited weekend lunch menu, it was all delicious and I plan to go back to try some of their dinner items, like paella.
I would definitely recommend.
The only complaint it’s outside to many bugs and you don’t enjoy eating
this used to be my favorite place i an a local i had high praises for Lola i regret that!s no longer. I used to love bring my wife and out of town guess here that no longer the dish i raved about was the Paella when it finally arrived it burned at the bottom also some of the regular seafood was missing worst of all it had FISHY smell i used loved this i must say the staff was very friendly I just so bad i had bought one of my best friends and had awful experience
First time at Lola's. The bartender/waiter was amazing! And the food was so good. Can't wait to go back to try some more items.
