The dinner was great. Service equally great.
The fire pits were smoky and we were still cold.
Our server was fabulous, food impressed the entire party, and we had fabulous time anyway. A wonderful gem of a restaurant in New Orleans.
Cool local place that I had been wanting to try for quite a while. The experience was underwhelming to say the least. I typically love tapas-style I places, especially Spanish. The spot is nice and the decor is minimalist but stylish, however the food and service fell so dismally flat. We constantly waited for drinks and were never even offered a second drink. No attempts to upsell or recommend any dish, although now I can see why. The meat and cheese board was grocery store quality and nothing about the rest of the food was spanish in anything but name. The ceviche (20$)had some nice fresh, fish but was served with only a few stale tortilla chips. The paella, which I had heard was decent, was a good portion but regrettably a greasy, dense concoction with overcooked meat and a flavor profile of something you would expect from a fast food joint. I was so disappointed to the point where I cannot imagine giving this place a second chance.
It was a cold night and the heaters are just too high to keep us warm. Service was great. The pistolettes were good but the butter garlic was so garlicky it caught me off guard. The shrimp & chicken paella was very good. Sangria and margarita were both enjoyable.
Beware, seating was outside and it was freezing. The few heaters they did have worked poorly. Food took forever to arrive at table. Didn’t finish meal because it was so cold and decided to bring it home, big mistake!! I was given someone else’s meal to take home. Will not be going back, not worth it.
My only negative are the tables on the outside hallway being too small like for example four people, elbow to elbow and concerned about spreading virus.
Amazing food and great ambiance!
It was freezing. Other people who also had reservations had to leave because nobody called to warn diners who had booked inside that they’d have to be outside. The heat lamps were not really effective. Food was great though. They should just call and let ppl know.
My husband and I had our monthly date night at Lola’s. We had a wonderful experience and the food was phenomenal. We share a couple of tapas and cocktails. For entrees, I had the seafood paella and my husband had the spinach linguine with chicken. The service and ambiance was fantastic. Thanks for the wonderful experience, we will definitely be back
Great food. Has outdoor seating and heaters for cooler weather. Outdoor seating also has nice background Spanish guitar music (not live) for ambiance.
It was such an amazing cute place and you can’t beat the bottomless mimosas! Service was great and the atmosphere was the best part!
Always enjoy this place! A definite "go to" for me.
Intimate and delicious!
Cute and cozy place.
The restaurant is comfortable, great service and has a nice variety of choices.
Took one hour to get appetizers. took another hour to get half of our parties entrees, and another half an hour to get the rest of our entrees. Half of us were done with our meal while the other half had no food. Not the servers fault - she was great. Kitchen was a hot mess.
Three hours for a meal is excessive - even in the time of covid. Too bad bc the food was great.
So glad they have been able to expand outside. Like the brunch menu.
The cook (Tal) did a fantastic job of being creative with my wife's health restrictions. The food was great (I had the burger), and the service was fantastic!
The new outdoor space at Lola’s is SO LOVELY and I hope it continues after Covid is over. They have heaters for cold weather. The food has always been so good, the seafood Paella is the best in the city. We’re so happy to have Lola’s in the neighborhood!
What a great and relatively unknown brunch option. I though their outdoor seating was pretty and well designed for the pandemic, especially since it wasn't packed. I was surprised so few people were there (it WAS chilly, though they have those heat lamps, they were of limited help.) The food was nothing overly fancy, but definitely satisfying (I went for their simple egg dish, especially liked the patatas bravas and the cheese grits and my companion was very happy with her roasted veggie omelet.) They also have various Mimosa options, including bottomless which I generally adore, but as i was taking it easy, just had two of their house Mimosas, and no complaints! And the price point is great, We had 2 mimosas, a bloody mary, two egg dishes, two sides and two coffees for around $66.00, all in that gorgeous Esplanade Ave setting. Nice/friendly service as well. I will definitely be back.
Date night here was wonderful. Cozy little restaurant. We had the trout and beef stew dish. It was delicious and filling. Will return soon, ty Lolas!
We ate outside under the propane heaters and the whole experience was wonderful. The food was delicious and varied . It has been a long time since we are at Lola’s and it was worth the wait. I saw that they were taking reservations under Open Table so it was easy to make a reservation. We plan to go back for my birthday celebration later this month!
The service was excellent! The garlic soup was simply a broth and though tasty, lacked substance. The lamb and tuna were outstanding!
Wonderful meal, nice staff, all very accommodating!
Great outdoor eating spot! Enjoyed the good food and the open outdoor space during COVID.
I attended the restaurant to celebrate with a frien for his birthday. I was very pleased with every aspect of the restaurant. The experience was pleasant in the midst of the nations anxiety regarding COVID.
It was a pleasure to see peope out enjoying family and friends in a very safe in an incognito manner.
I will return and definitel tell others
Great atmosphere and service was awesome
We loved our sidewalk table. The heater didn't have much reach so we ate in our winter coats, but we didn't mind
I had the pork loin. Very large dry as nails unflavored piece of meat. My hubby had the duck breast. It had better flavor but did not fill him up. We had to sit inside, not what we wanted and had to listen to 2 women talk and curse very loudly. Restaurant did not tell them anything. I've never spent over a hundred dollars for a meal laced with loud "F" bombs in my life. And the sangria was just OK
Very cute and romantic spot to share a meal with your sweetheart outside. Loved the garlic mushrooms, ceviche needed a touch more salt, but was still good. Got the paella, yum! The best part was the sausage, I'd just get that added, hee hee!
The experience as a whole was fantastic and our waiter was the best. We waited longer than 10 minutes for our order to be taken, but the dude we pulled to our table, which apparently was not his section, he helped us out and took care of us! He was great, I wish I could remember his name.
Service and food was wonderful! Truly a heavenly slice of Spain right in New Orleans.
