Our owner and head chef, Lanka, began her culinary journey at just 9 years old, learning cooking techniques and flavours from her mother while helping in the kitchen. From a very young age, as the eldest child, she embraced the responsibility of preparing meals for her family. Inspired by her mother’s dedication to the art of cooking and the incredible flavours of her meals, Lanka quickly discovered her own passion for creating food that nourished both the spirit and the senses.

In Sinhalese, “Loku” means "elder”, a name lovingly given to Lanka by her family, reflecting her role as the eldest child. “Loku” was the nickname her family called her, and it became a symbol of her responsibility and love for cooking. As "Loku”, she embraced the task of preparing meals that brought her family together, always with care and warmth. Lanka’s cooking, often praised with the words “Loku’s food is delicious”, became more than just meals.

It may be surprising, but the four curry dishes we ordered were totally different in flavour and texture each being absolutely delicious. Service was prompt and friendly, with a minimal wait until the food arrived. While not extensive, the drinks menu, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, provided sufficient options for everyone in our group. The cost of both food and drink was extremely reasonable.
