Loka works with small producers, for this reason the ingredients inspire the menu which changes daily. The menu is posted daily at 4pm at Facebook.com/LokaToronto
The Chef's Table is available each night at 6pm and 9pm. It's two seats at the pass overlooking the Chef's station who serves you a tasting menu for $100/person.
Loka is happy to accommodate food allergies and restrictions, including gluten-free or vegan. In addition to our regular menu we offer a full vegetarian menu daily.
Adventurous dish creation although the portions were quite small. We all thought the food was very overpriced and two of the four of us had an attack of the trots!!!! Not exactly what you'd want to pay $150 for.
Loka is amazing. What a fantastic expression of Canadian fare made with local ingredients the team often foragers for during the summer months. The serving staff are always so knowledgeable about the menu and Chef never ceases to amaze. My suggestion is to “eat the menu” and really experience the Loka story. 10/10
The food was excellent. Did not like being sat next to a meat cooler that had flourecent lights and a loud motor and meat hanging down. It actually made my stomach turn. If it wasn’t for the reservation and the fact that we drove an hour from markham. I would have left and I was embarrassed I brought friends to the restaurant.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The Brussels sprouts & pork belly were our faves. They were wonderfully accommodating with an allergy!
Just an amazing experience ; not a pretentious place but in fact a really great experience. Really great food and most important very unique, canadian without trendy or copying other restaurants menu.

Great food, atmosphere and service! The tasting menu was definitely the way to go for variety - small portions but satisfied at the end. Delicious - would recommend!
(Would also recommend Loka offer some non-Canadian spirits, as they do with wine. Very limited selection; meal would have been enhanced with an aperitif.)
In my view you have to be in the right mood to come to this place. I was not aware of the menu until I walked in, but this is a restaurant that has a very specific and refined menu. They attempt to operate a zero waste restaurant, which means that the menu itself is curated for a given night and the menu changes for seasonal or daily available items. They cure their own Meats which makes their charcuterie platter a nice treat. I will say that I find their food is sometimes attempting to be something it is not, but the food is quite good. They do have a decent vegetarian menu and of course on the non-vegetarian menu the food is tasty.
Unique and creatively Canadian cuisine. Amazing tasting menu, portions are small but filling! Shared a tasting menu between 2 people and was sufficient. Service was great! Would definitely come back, especially since the menu changes to often!
It was a birthday dinner but since we were pescatarians, and their specialty was cured meats, I wasn't sure. They said they were vegetarian friendly and they were. We sat at the chef's table and watched Dave and his sous chef prepare wonderful and amazing course after course. It was like performance art; Interesting and inventive and very in touch with local ingredients. One Con might be small portions but we bought into the experience.

The food was amazing and he staff are superb. Went for my husband’s birthday and requested for the chef’s table. We’ve eaten around the world but this was one of the best food and experience we’ve had. If you’re looking for excellent food and lots of heart, this is the place.

Experienced chef Dave Mottershall at EAT vancouver when he collaborated at fable with chef Trevor Bird. So when I visited TO I had to try Loka. Would've loved to have tried more of the menu but could've been happy eating only the Seared Nduja sausage with smoke goat yogurt with sourdough bread. Omg. Don't miss out on that!
Took family out for a thank you - the food was really fantastic. We split the "Big Steak" 4 ways and added 3 sides - it was perfect. We even had room for dessert which was Deeeeelicious.
All four of us would definitely go back!!
One of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. A forest to table place that, believe it or not, is heaven for both carnivores and vegetarians. The chef is a forking genius! Highest recommendation.
The taste the menu was an amazing option. Enjoyed every course. Suited vegetarians and meat eaters.
A menu with unusual options and excellent tastes. "Eat the Menu" option with vegetarian or non-vegetarian option has decent sized portions that two can share but you will want to add one or two additional items. We went on a very quiet Tuesday so my rating on noise level is N/A.
I had a last minute reservation here for a birthday and it was one of the best meals I've had in a while!
Great food and exceptional service. Everything we ordered tasted amazing - so much so we ordered seconds of one of the plates. Very reasonably priced as well given the quality and presentation of the food. The two gentlemen working the bar and serving were also great - very friendly and knowledgeable.

We discovered Loka when looking for a last minute dinner reservation and boy was it a good find! Located in a trendy area, the restaurant itself has smart/casual decor to match. The service was fantastic, the meal was well paced and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Most importantly the food was great, in fact the best meal we had in Toronto on our holiday (and we ate a LOT of food this holiday). We loved the use of seasonal ingredients to create simple, unusual but outstanding food true to it's Canada roots. It was also excellent value for money. We will definitely recommend it to anyone we know visiting Toronto!
Unbelievable restaurant with creative and delicious food options. Reasonably priced and service was excellent. Great wine and beer selection. Super friendly staff who take real pride in what they do.

It's cool that it's a no/low waste restaurant and all however the ambiance isn't great and the portions are super small (especially as related to the price). It was ok, don't really need to go back.

A perfect dinner! The food was very creative, we have chosen four courses which were absolutely famous. Instead of noisy restaurant the ambiance was very quiet. We recommend this restaurant with much enthousiasm. If we come back to Toronto we will go to Loka, it's sure.
Loved it. Had been meaning to try it for a while and wish it hadn't taken so long. The food is thoughtfully composed, beautifully presented, and not at all pretentious (quite a feat by such an on-trend spot). Absolutely love the choice of menus (changing daily, with one for omnivores and one for vegetarians) and that the veg side is not a "token veggie version" but rather its own distinct selection. I can think of only one other restaurant in the city that does this. Didn't have a drink on this occasion but noticed some really nice wines and cocktails on offer. Looking forward to returning!
It was my wife's birthday. All the staff were fantastic!
I cannot say enough amazing things about Loka! The menu, atmosphere and staff were amazing. Duncan served us and he was knowledgeable, recommended dishes and always politely checked up on us. Plates were timed perfectly to savour the flavours without it going cold as we were a group of 3 friends whom haven't seen each other in years. Dishes were so delicately presented and ingredients were so fresh it made us all giggle with glee as the fork reached our mouths. I had an egg shell in one of my egg dishes, which happens to everyone, and they were quick to fix it and took it off the bill without hesitation. The other staff members were equally attentive and served us with such positive energy that we couldn't help but compliment them in person. Lola clearly lived up to the HIGH STANDARDS that they portray and will definitely see more of me. My friends and I had shared the salami board,pork belly, foie gras, mushrooms and egg/ kale dishes and loved it all. Their menu changes daily as they use local ingredients so I can't wait to come back. Kudos to the chef, staff and management team of Loka.

Nice summerlicious menu, but the dish were a bit small.

The Granite in desert was not on par with the starters or the main course (which were very good).

Loka is the best place ever in Toronto. The food is amazing and the atmosphere welcoming. The waiters are knowledgeable, engaged and excitable, which adds to the experience.
The food and the server were great. Excellent vegetarian options and fantastic, interesting local ingredients. They even brought us a complimentary amuse-bouche and granate which were declicious. The server also helped stagger the dishes we ordered which worked fantastically.
I only have one problem: we went on a Monday night so it was pretty dead. When we arrived there was only one other couple in the restaurant, and we decided not to sit in the front so as to not to sit right next to them. We sat in the back where there were tons of empty tables. When a third couple showed up, the hostess decided to seat them RIGHT NEXT TO US. Literally less than one foot away. They could have had ANY OTHER TABLE IN THE PLACE. And this was after we'd explicitly made the comment to the hostess that we wouldn't sit up front by the window with the first couple "so that they we could both have some buffer zone." Maybe she was offended and wanted to get back at us... I guess I'll never know. It was just so strange. We might go back but I'll certainly ask to move if that happens again.
I've been to Loka many times and I am always impressed. This is my favourite restaurant in Toronto. The chef has authentic and very unique ways of showcasing local ingredients.

The food was exceptional. Really some of the best food in TO. However, they were the smallest "small plates" I've had in my life. Literally 2 bite entree portions.
Attended for Winterlicious in February and just had to come back for Summerlicious! The food is always well presented and delicious. Comfort food level of satisfaction, with inventive methods and ingredients. I appreciate that the Licious menu reflects dishes that are actually on their daily menu, so you can really get a taste of what they are about. The staff are very informed and always pleasant. Going to return with a larger group to do the "taste the whole menu" option, as every time I go, I want to order everything anyways!
We loved the variety of options on the menu and are planning to return to sample the full tasting menu following our fantastic experience at Loka's Summerlicious offerings. We had the standard prix fixe then, but added two of the dishes from the regular menu (brussel sprouts with maple and pistachio then the honey-seared radishes). Delicious seasonal foods, lots of choices and a great wine list too. So nice to dine with knowledgeable staff.
Overall high attention to detail, very knowledgeable staff, and exceptional food.
HOWEVER, the portion sizes are unfathomably small. I'm not one to be ticked by small portion sizes as I tend to favour quality over quantity. But to illustrate, my friend ordered the pappardelle for her main course and without exaggeration, it was less than 100ml of food, sauce and all. If you don't know how little that is, imagine a single-serve yoghurt container. As the person who suggested this restaurant, I felt so embarrassed!!
So here's the bottom line, the food here is on point. And if you're looking for a surprise, it'll come from not just how delicious it is, but also how little you'll get.
