Excellent steak, sides, wine, expresso martinis and service with a friendly smile. For very reasonable city prices (no "alpine tax"). Best eating out place at Mt Hotham!

We loved our evening at Sir Loins. The service was brilliant and the food was cooked perfectly, from the scallops with prosciutto to the eye fillet and ribeye which were served at medium rare as requested. The roast pumpkin with feta and the broccolini sides were also delicious. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a meal as good as any of the great steak houses in Melbourne

Had a great evening with friends. Fabulous service and with waiters who knew the menu and food well. Steak was a touch more cooked than I love but the sides were absolutely delicious. Thoroughly recommend and will return.

After a long day carving through powder and taking in the breathtaking alpine views, we stumbled into Loins at Mount Hotham—and what a delicious surprise it turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck a perfect balance between cozy mountain lodge and refined dining. Warm lighting, friendly staff, and a great wine list set the tone for a memorable evening. But let’s get to the star of the show: the Brussels sprouts. I don’t say this lightly—they were absolutely phenomenal. Crispy, caramelised, and bursting with flavour, they came tossed with just the right balance of seasoning and tang. Whoever’s behind that pan deserves a medal. I would genuinely come back just for those sprouts. The rest of the menu didn’t disappoint either, beautifully cooked mains, thoughtful plating, and sides that showed care and creativity. Every bite felt comforting yet elevated. If you’re in Mount Hotham and looking for a place that combines great food with a welcoming alpine atmosphere, Loins is an absolute must. Just don’t leave without ordering the sprouts. You’ll thank me later.

We had another fantastic meal for 6 people. Steaks and sides all beautifully cooked. Cocktails perfect. Order the tomahawk! Loins is the best restaurant at Hotham.

Delicious food, the poor staff were totally overwhelmed and very inexperienced. I felt for them as it was a busy Sunday night. They actually forgot one meal and we asked them for it about 10 minutes later. It still hadn’t arrived when everyone else had finished so left feeling quite disappointed….

Chicken skewers were scrumptious, steak cooked to perfection, tasty, served with blue cheese sauce. Quality food! Lovely staff.

Been twice now and have had good help with my dietary restriction. Some wholegrain mustard would be nice but I will have some in my pocket next time just in case.
