   We had the trout and the chicken. Both of our meals were fantastic. The service was extremely friendly. We found the server and the hostess to both be personable and knowledgeable. We happen to be there the night of live music. The music was at a level where one could hear it and yet have a conversation. All in all, our experience was fantastic.

   Only place to be on a Wednesday night in Whitefish, if you like outstanding live music by John Dunnigan, and a relaxing but lively atmosphere. Best service by the entire staff in all of Whitefish.

   The French Onion soup was excellent, I would go back for that, the Trout was very good as well, I enjoyed it. Our waiter was charming and did very well, the fish n chips was good too. We would dine there again.

   Awesome experience! Kiddo had the kids burger. It was huge. We had the Tom yum with chicken and chicken piccata, but were yummy. Great place to go!

    Went for Valentines with my wife. Food was mediocre at best. Ordered specials and was disappointed. $160 dollars for my wife and I. Chicken picatta was overcooked, under seasoned and disappointing. Wife ordered beef wellington and asked for medium. Came out well done, dry. Obviously both items were pre made and had been sitting for some time. Staff tried to keep up, but was slow getting back around to table. All in all I would not go back.

    Varied choices on the menu, as well as options provided. Always excellent service, no matter which server you get. Fun dinner and outstanding entertainment on Wednesday and Friday nights when John Dunnigan is playing. Never disappoints.

    Food was delicious. Varied menu . . . something for everyone. Servers were professional and very upbeat. . . even working on Christmas Day. The room was nicely decorated in a rustic, clubby style that was very inviting. We will definitely return.

    Bar and Grill does not describe Logan's accurately. Unique and interesting elegant decor with antlers, open beams and action film swing-from-the-chandelier lighting. Bar area of dining room is noisy and not the best for families. We asked for a quieter table and waited about 15 minutes, then were seated in the separate Card Room. It was worth the wait. Next time, we'll ask for that when we make a reservation. We ordered from the chef's special Christmas menu. Smoked salmon pate appetizer was excellent. Entrees were a huge platter of the smaller 8 oz prime rib (perfect as-ordered doneness) with loaded baked potato, a delicious gnocci rendition, and salmon prepared to exacting standards. The chocolate torte was an "Oh my!" experience, the huckleberry cheesecake so delicious you savor it with closed eyes, and the creme brule sumptuous with wonderfully crisp top layer. The inventive full menu changes regularly. The choices include local wilderness meats such as trout, elk, and bison. This is extraordinary fare you won't find elsewhere. Be sure to ask a staff member to take your picture.

    We have lived here for 27 years and visited this restaurant and/or attached lounge area many many times over that span of time. The Grouse Mountain Lodge is a beautiful place and their restaurant food has always been very good. However, the restaurant has gone through design changes over the years, losing some of the character and ambience of past times. The restaurant overhead lighting is now very bright - it has a glorified cafeteria feel, much too bright for a relaxing evening dinner. The lighting quality/bulb color caused everyone in our party to comment that their eyes were burning after 30 minutes. The table was too small for our party of 4, so it was difficult to fit appetizers and drinks comfortably. In times past, tablecloths were used. I understand there is a labor and cost savings in no longer using those, but the unadorned bar-style tables were not as would be expected in a nice restaurant. The room's acoustics are such that sound seemed amplified and bounced around, making the room loud enough that we also needed to speak very loud in order to be heard by those at our small table. The hors d'oeuvres and the entrees were all excellent in both taste and presentation, but it was interesting to note that no bread was offered at all. At one point a few years ago, Logans always put a small basket on the table with an assortment of breads and rolls which was very nice, and unique - wish they still had that with their dinner service. We were in the mood for a nicer atmosphere overall, and expected that based on visits over the years. Although we hadn't been there in a long time, it is fair to say that we were surprised to find the current atmosphere lacking the ambience we'd expected and hoped for in this lodge. It was much more casual and bar-like, which would be fine for a group of friends after skiing. However, if you are looking to have a quiet, relaxing and/or romantic meal or special evening out, this may not be your best choice.

    The food was good, but really surprised how good the music was local artist John Dunnigan, he was great!! The ambulance could be better, lower the lights and the back dinning area could be nicer with table clothes & candles...the menu could have more fine dinning options.

    Unfortunately, the Beef Tenderloin was off the menu. They started a brand new menu the day we arrived. Everything was great. We had the BISON meatloaf and New York Strip. Food was awesome, service was great, ambiance was amazing. Jim Dunnigan played from 6-9 as a solo artist playing acoustic type cover songs. It was great.

    Came here for the Thanksgiving buffet…the food was excellent. My husband and I highly recommend coming here if you are in need of an alternate solution to the traditional at-home Thanksgiving dinner!
