Log Haven Ratings and Reviews
This is like a place from a fairy tale...the most adorable log cabin. Every detail was perfected. Warm, inviting atmosphere. We immediately felt welcomed. Fireplace, amazing cocktails. Wait staff was possibly the best we have ever had....professional, knowledgeable, adorable. The GM was constantly present making sure we were 100% satisfied. I want to return to SLC just to eat here again. Our highlight, for sure!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed dinner here on Valentines day! It was so beautiful and romantic. Many people recommended this place to us and it did not disappoint. Parking was tricky we had to walk a bit to the restaurant. Other than that the food and service was great!
My wife and I came in for our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple, only 3 days after the wedding. Everything was wonderful! My wife said the Arancini was the second best she'd had in her life (she's from Italy, sorry), and tried her first ever Bison steak, which she loved. The service was attentive yet distant, as to allow us to enjoy each other's company without interruption, yet never went ignored. Further, going into the evening, hearing from others how nice (and expensive) the restaurant was, I had a number in mind that I was perfectly happy spending. I'm happy to say that, with appetizer, salad, two entrees dessert, two cocktails and a bottle of wine, I still spent less than I expected. Thank you for a wonderful evening, and the perfect way to cap our wedding weekend! We will definitely be back!
Absolutely loved the food. Cooked to perfection. Our server Eric was very informative and fun to talk with and joke with. He also helped me with proposing by being sneaky and taking pictures and on one of them, switching to video and recording our proposal. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed a romantic dinner for two. The meal was outstanding and our server, Kelsey, was extremely attentive. Highly recommend Log Haven and will eagerly visit again whenever we find ourselves in Salt Lake City. One word of warning: cell signal was non-existant. We were scheduled to facetime with our 3 year old back home so Kelsey gave us the restaurant's guest wifi password. It was too slow for video but we managed a voice call. Rock on Kelsey!
While on a ski vacation, six of us decided to try out Log Haven for dinner. Two of us ordered the Elk ($40+ entree) and thought the Elk was dry and needed more sauce. The others ordered Bison, Crab Risotto, and the Filet option and enjoyed their food very much. What stood out to us was our server, Kelsey. Kelsey was so knowledgable and did an outstanding job! We would come back again just for the outstanding service!
Pre-Valentine's Dinner reservation at this very romantic restaurant. Loved it! So cozy and intimate - sat by the fire place and looked out to the mountains. We split the southwest Caesar Salad and our entrees were Filet Mignon and the Bison. Very, very good. Excellent wines by the glass and very extensive bottle list. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening with my honey. Exceptional service by Nate. Thank you!
This was a very unique and enjoyable experience all the way around. Worth the drive up the canyon. Ambience was great, food was first class and the wait staff was extremely attentive with just the right touch...not too much attention and not too little. We visit SLC 3-4 times a year. We will visit Log Haven again.
Oh, log haven, how do I love thee?, let me count the ways. This is the go-to place for me when: 1) my wife is having a birthday, 2) it's my anniversary, or 3) I fu**ed something up and need forgiveness. The atmosphere is great, my phone doesn't get a signal there so there are no distractions, the food is outstanding, and, important to me, the pace of the meal is just right. Timing is important. Yes, it's a fairly expensive place (for me, anyway) but the return on investment is always net positive.
Food was delicious and extremely flavorful! Each course was portioned generously yet still maintained an astounding quality. Reservations are recommended and parking is limited on weekends, but weekdays are very quiet and perfect for a romantic dinner away from the city. Note that there is no cell connection, so focus on your date/dinner party and enjoy the retreat!
Dinner and service at Log Haven was excellent. I especially loved the "surf & turf" steak with lobster tail and luscious mashed potatoes plus grilled asparagus. Manager helped us with a great wine selection from their extensive wine list.
We've been there many times. The food and service is always good. Though a bit pricey, Log Haven is the perfect spot for a special occasion. In this case it was our anniversary. Dave does a great job producing high quality unique cuisine. Our compliments to the chef!
Lovely snowy night - made the trek from Park City while attending the Sundance Film Festival - a little scary driving up the final five miles up to the restaurant. Beautiful ambiance, great service - some dishes outstanding: elk, s’more chocolate tart; others pretty good.
This was our first visit to Log Haven and it was wonderful. Ou waitress was extremely helpful and good natured, the food was marvelous and the setting was lovely! We had a great meal for our daightee’s 21st Birthday!! We will definitely tell our friends and we will be back!!
This was an excellent restaurant! There are not a lot of great restaurants in the Salt Lake City area, but this is a definite yes! The service at the door was fantastic, ambiance is great and our server was highly knowledgeable and helpful. Our only negative was that the server seemed to have too many tables which caused him to be a little slow, but since we were not in a hurry and enjoying a ramoantic night in front of their fireplace we didn’t mind much.
I made a reservation and claimed that it was my partners birthday and they didn't did or say anything. We were placed right next to people where we might as well joined them. It was very uncomfertable and there were a lot of other tables open. I don't know why we were seated so close to people when there were plenty of tables open. I wasn't very happy especially
Since I made reservations a few days prior.
It was snowing and dark so we couldn’t see the outside area of the beautiful waterfall setting so I would go in the day light next time. Great service and I got the table I requested when I made the reservation next to the fireplace. The food came out fairly quick and was very good. Large wine list but not a good cocktail list and had to request a vodka martini which was overly sweet. Overall we loved it and plan on going back. Total cost for two was around 200.00.
The staff was very pleasant and happy. They sat us in the corner by the large windows as we requested.
The waitress kept our glasses full and checked on us frequently. She was very nice and made us smile.
We both had their steak and lobster special. It was excellent. The food was made perfectly. My favorite part is their wine list. They have some of my favorite wines. We finished with their s’mores dessert. Very tasty.
If you want to take your loved on on a date they will remember, take them to Log Haven.
I budget $200 for this. Includes dinner, a nice bottle of wine and 20% tip. You can spend much less or more depending on your means.
