Log Haven Ratings and Reviews
This was an excellent restaurant! There are not a lot of great restaurants in the Salt Lake City area, but this is a definite yes! The service at the door was fantastic, ambiance is great and our server was highly knowledgeable and helpful. Our only negative was that the server seemed to have too many tables which caused him to be a little slow, but since we were not in a hurry and enjoying a ramoantic night in front of their fireplace we didn’t mind much.
I made a reservation and claimed that it was my partners birthday and they didn't did or say anything. We were placed right next to people where we might as well joined them. It was very uncomfertable and there were a lot of other tables open. I don't know why we were seated so close to people when there were plenty of tables open. I wasn't very happy especially
Since I made reservations a few days prior.
It was snowing and dark so we couldn’t see the outside area of the beautiful waterfall setting so I would go in the day light next time. Great service and I got the table I requested when I made the reservation next to the fireplace. The food came out fairly quick and was very good. Large wine list but not a good cocktail list and had to request a vodka martini which was overly sweet. Overall we loved it and plan on going back. Total cost for two was around 200.00.
The staff was very pleasant and happy. They sat us in the corner by the large windows as we requested.
The waitress kept our glasses full and checked on us frequently. She was very nice and made us smile.
We both had their steak and lobster special. It was excellent. The food was made perfectly. My favorite part is their wine list. They have some of my favorite wines. We finished with their s’mores dessert. Very tasty.
If you want to take your loved on on a date they will remember, take them to Log Haven.
I budget $200 for this. Includes dinner, a nice bottle of wine and 20% tip. You can spend much less or more depending on your means.
Omg!!! What a place. In the middle of the forest Beautiful surroundings. Inc a waterfall. The service. My server nate an absolute pro. Very charming The food to die for. The fireplace woh. If I would live here this would be my favorite. Don’t leave slc without going to this restaurant a great an pleasurable experience
We went to Log Haven to with our son to celebrate his B-day. Our table was very nice, next to a window with views of the waterfall. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the various menu items and attentive but not overbearing. The food was excellent. We definitely recommend this restaurant to for special occasions or just to enjoy an excellent meal.
We have been there many times, returning for the food and service. Maybe because there were several large holiday parties, service was sketchy and the food mediocre. We like spicy, but the seasonal menu was organized around chili peppers and oils that seemed to overpower the entrees. My husband’s tuna was over cooked (grey) and my son’s salmon a soup. Our son wanted to surprise us by treating us for the meal which went awry when the waiter showed up at our table while we were still eating with the check. In all, it was a disappointing evening. So sad..
The food was delicious. We got the bison and the chicken and both were terrific. The service was ideal. Our waitress was quick to take away used plates and cups but we never felt we were being rushed out. I proposed to my girlfriend outside by the waterfall and the manager was extremely accommodating. The whole staff was aware of what was going on and made things much less stressful for me. It was beautiful, too. Definitely would recommend! Delicious food, romantic atmosphere, great management. We will be back!
We often go to Log Haven for special occasions several times a year in all seasons. Our favorite is Christmas time. The decorations are wonderful and there is often live music. Our recent dinner was very good but we did run into a few bumps. My companion's meat was overdone and we did not receive our vegetable dish. We had to re-order a drink as well. This is not typical of Log Haven so we attributed it to the busy dining room due to the holiday season. If we didn't have extensive experience with this restaurant, we would have been more disappointed. They did not charge us for the meat that had to be returned which we felt was the right thing.
I ordered the filet mignon with a side order of shrimp, and my husband ordered the maple bourbon chicken entree this time. My filet was tender and juicy; the asparagus and shrimp, perfect; however, the potatoes were a little too oily, so I only had a bite of those. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the chicken and wished he had ordered something else. I tasted it, and it was lovely; the sweet potato/bacon hash was fragrant and so savory, I could have eaten a whole plate of just that. As if the meal wasn't wonderful enough, Ike was at the piano...playing traditional Christmas tunes as well as a medley of hit songs from motion pictures. The drive up/down the canyon was beautiful with the glistening snow in the moonlight. All in all, a remarkable date night.
The Log Haven experience was great, especially accommodating us after a confused reservation request from OpenTable. We had requested a Saturday evening dinner after our son-in-law got off work, since we were only there a short visit, and they have church on Sunday. I received a confirmation from OpenTable, so we went to the restaurant thinking we had a reservation, and to our embarrassment found we didn't. I hadn't read the 'fine print' but showed the desk my cell phone and the confirmation number, and she showed me it was for Sunday! I looked and she was right and told us; "OpenTable does that, they'll move you to another day if the requested date is full, you have to be careful." I and family were shocked, why doesn't OpenTable just tell you there's no opening and we can search another location. Log Haven had us wait a few minutes and set up a perfect table, with a perfect dinner! Excellent points for Log Haven and Minus points for OpenTable. We will use another method in the future and/or be very cautious using OpenTable.
Wow! What an amazing restaurant! Kelsey, our waitress took amazing care of us, and the food was phenomenal. Initially I ordered the crab risotto. Kelsey had mentioned that other diners had found the crab to be overpowering, but they had toned down the dish due to that feedback, and I decided to take a chance. I didn't care for it, and within 10 minutes, I had a new meal. The filet was like butter! I've never had a more perfect steak! My boyfriend said his chicken dish was the best he had ever had!
We hadnt been to log Haven in years. I was disappointed. Although the food was palatable, it has definitely declined in taste and uniqueness since our last visit. I Ordered the crab risotto which was fishy. My husband ordered the chicken which was good but not excellent. The choice of appetizers was disappointing. Desert however was excellent. The ambience was beautiful and the service was good.
A beautiful location and ambience. The live music and fireplace were wonderful. The only drawback was being sat next to a rather loud business meeting. Once we were settled down, we didn't want to have the drama of being moved, but it's a detail that should have been noticed by the staff. It was my husband's milestone birthday, and no attention was made to that occasion, even as it was noted through my opentable reservation. I was a little disappointed in that. But the meal was wonderful, the service sublime, and we will definitely be back.
