Log Haven Ratings and Reviews
I ordered the filet mignon with a side order of shrimp, and my husband ordered the maple bourbon chicken entree this time. My filet was tender and juicy; the asparagus and shrimp, perfect; however, the potatoes were a little too oily, so I only had a bite of those. My husband wasn't a huge fan of the chicken and wished he had ordered something else. I tasted it, and it was lovely; the sweet potato/bacon hash was fragrant and so savory, I could have eaten a whole plate of just that. As if the meal wasn't wonderful enough, Ike was at the piano...playing traditional Christmas tunes as well as a medley of hit songs from motion pictures. The drive up/down the canyon was beautiful with the glistening snow in the moonlight. All in all, a remarkable date night.
The Log Haven experience was great, especially accommodating us after a confused reservation request from OpenTable. We had requested a Saturday evening dinner after our son-in-law got off work, since we were only there a short visit, and they have church on Sunday. I received a confirmation from OpenTable, so we went to the restaurant thinking we had a reservation, and to our embarrassment found we didn't. I hadn't read the 'fine print' but showed the desk my cell phone and the confirmation number, and she showed me it was for Sunday! I looked and she was right and told us; "OpenTable does that, they'll move you to another day if the requested date is full, you have to be careful." I and family were shocked, why doesn't OpenTable just tell you there's no opening and we can search another location. Log Haven had us wait a few minutes and set up a perfect table, with a perfect dinner! Excellent points for Log Haven and Minus points for OpenTable. We will use another method in the future and/or be very cautious using OpenTable.
Wow! What an amazing restaurant! Kelsey, our waitress took amazing care of us, and the food was phenomenal. Initially I ordered the crab risotto. Kelsey had mentioned that other diners had found the crab to be overpowering, but they had toned down the dish due to that feedback, and I decided to take a chance. I didn't care for it, and within 10 minutes, I had a new meal. The filet was like butter! I've never had a more perfect steak! My boyfriend said his chicken dish was the best he had ever had!
We hadnt been to log Haven in years. I was disappointed. Although the food was palatable, it has definitely declined in taste and uniqueness since our last visit. I Ordered the crab risotto which was fishy. My husband ordered the chicken which was good but not excellent. The choice of appetizers was disappointing. Desert however was excellent. The ambience was beautiful and the service was good.
A beautiful location and ambience. The live music and fireplace were wonderful. The only drawback was being sat next to a rather loud business meeting. Once we were settled down, we didn't want to have the drama of being moved, but it's a detail that should have been noticed by the staff. It was my husband's milestone birthday, and no attention was made to that occasion, even as it was noted through my opentable reservation. I was a little disappointed in that. But the meal was wonderful, the service sublime, and we will definitely be back.
What a gem! Log Haven was a fabulous dining experience. The ambiance is beautiful. ..rustic, yet elegant. Romantic, warm and cozy. Exceptional service from our server, Erik, who is passionate about what he does and added to the pleasure of our dining experience. Food and presentation were outstanding. We will return and highly recommend.
We went to Log Haven for my wife's birthday. The place is really beautiful. Service is top notch (ask for Cynthia for your server). My Bison dish was superb. Two people had fish (Halibut and Tuna), and thought they were slightly overcooked. I do love this place and will be back.
As we were driving into the mountains on our way to Log Haven, I was expecting a nice outdoor atmosphere surrounding the restaurant. What we found upon arrival was surreal, and better than what I expected. Log Haven is located in a gorgeous isolated spot in the mountains with romantic lights and artificial waterfalls on the property.
The inside was even better. The restaurant has the feel of an elegant cabin, including a large fireplace with comfy couches, live jazz music, and a classy atmosphere in general. Finally, the food was delicious. We ate elk, steak, and lobster tail and then apple crisp for desert, all at a very reasonable price.
Our overall experience was very satisfying and I would love to go back, whatever the occasion.
Although there was a mistake with our dinner order the restaurant staff handled it appropriately. The overall experience was everything that I was looking for! We were celebrating a 30th birthday and they brought out the finishing plate with a candle on it. I feel the staff went over the top to make sure we had the experience we were hoping for. Well done all!
Absolutely delightful. 5 starts across the board. Impeccable service, delightful food, perfect atmosphere! Live piano, cozy fireplace, attentive hosts! Valet included! Stunning views (waterfall, canyon, etc!)
There simply are too many amazing things to say about this place!
The dining experience at Log Haven was everything it was billed to be. Love the rustic setting, menu was what I'd hoped it to be (the elk was wonderful with a huckleberry reduction). Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu as well as the wine list. We were not rushed. Lovely dinner, would definitely go back.
Wonderful ambience in this restaurant and good service!
We would recommend some soup choices and more vegetarian options on the menu. Salad offerings could expand.
Some of the offerings are a bit strange, such as elk. Desserts should have more fruit as an option, but mostly very good. Berries come with heavy cream, but that could be left off.
