LockKeepers Ratings and Reviews
Food was excellent. We had Amanda serving our dinner. We requested her, as she is one of the best servers we have had at any restaurant. Fortunately for us, she was working and available. The dinner would have been good regardless, but she makes the experience even better.
One entree was terrible. As we waited for a new entree, the rest of our entrees got cold. The bad entree as well as the new entreenwere taken off the bill, which is commendable, but no mention was ever made that the other entrees getting cold as we waited for the new entree to be delivered. Our waitress seemed to be in a hurry to take our orders and constantly asked if we waited to purchase more wine. We have dined here many times and this was by far our worst dining experience. Please take care of the diners and not push selling more wine. We were disappointed with this dining experience.
As an Italian who cooks a lot of authentic dishes, it's hard for me to really enjoy many Italian meals out. I either feel that the meal is "americanized", changed for the American palette or poorly executed, in which case I don't like paying much for it. The service was outstanding, with multiple people refilling our bread basket and olive oil/tapenade dip. Our waitress was very attentive, refilling our drinks and checking on us, without being overbearing. I had the baby Kale salad (w/o the marinated beets)and my husband had the caesar salad we both really enjoyed them. My son and I both got the gnocci w/mushrooms & truffled cream sauce and a main dish. It was the perfect portion for a rich dish, enough to fill you but not SO much that you felt overwhelmed by the heaviness of the sauce. My husband had a steak which he felt lacked seasoning but was cooked to the right doneness. All-in-all, we had a wonderful laid back dining experience and we look forward to going back soon!
We had a great time, celebrating our 46th anniversary, actually a day early because the restaurant is closed on Sundays. Relatively quiet, excellent wait staff, and excellent food (we had the pork chops). It was a very cold night and appreciated the valet service which allowed us to not be too uncomfortable going to the car.
Have been here before. Were disappointed somewhat that the menu had changed food style since our last visit.
That being said the different menu was still great and the food was as excellent as previously. This place is as good as or better than anything in Tremont, Gordon Square and/or even downtown.
Also the parking with the complimentary valet knocks the socks off parking meters, high valet charges, scary parking lots, or looking for a parking spot.
Thanks for a great evening Lockkeepers.
We moved back to Cleveland after years away and were excited to go back to Lockkeepers. It was the place of our first date and we would frequent this restaurant when we lived in Seven Hills. Our return was for my wife's Birthday. Overall, we were disappointed. It seemed like many things have changed from what was our special place. The food and the service was ok. It was not worth the price.
