The food is good - the oysters were beautifully shucked with all their liquor and the shrimp salad roll luscious. Fries were fine. Problem was it took FOEEVER to get our drinks. I mean 30 minutes for a Manhattan and a glass of wine. The zerver was nice enough, but the huge delay kind of put a tamper on our meal, especially when other people were getting served.

The Loch Bar did not disappoint. As always the food was great. We had the fried oysters, crab and artichoke dip, Caesar salads, Chilean sea bass, and the double crab cakes. All excellent. The server was also great. Made sure we had everything we needed and ensured she took care of all of our needs. This is why it stays on my regular rotation.

If I were able to give 0 out of 5 stars I would. I am also not that kind of customer to do that but our experience here was less than subpar. We have visited this establishment two other times after hearing nothing but raving reviews between ambiance and food selection. To be honest we came for the ambiance, oysters and drinks after friends shared with us how great this place was. This time however is what sealed the deal on us never coming back. The hostess was very kind to start but then the experience quickly faded from there. We sat at the bar for a while before being finally approached. It was not over crowded and we at minimum should’ve been acknowledged that someone would be over. The bartender was obviously stressed out and ready to leave, and in short actually relayed that information to us (which I can’t say I blame her) but instead of leaving us hanging she politely served us as she visibly saw we were being ignored. After getting us drinks and food order in the bartender proceeded to apologize and tell us she had to leave as she was well past her scheduled time now. That’s when we decided to wrap up our time there as well because we knew we would be ignored like we were to start as soon as she departed from her shift. As the bar support stood in front of us cleaning and refreshing, ignored all of our requests for the check while the other two bartenders continued to serve, help and chat it up with every other customer at the counter but us. After 20 minutes of waiting I decided to get up and ask a server at the end of the bar if they could find someone to get us our check. That is when I found Gianni at the end of the bar picking up drinks for his table who politely helped out.

Bartender was all alone. Damn good dry martini. My order for oysters and lobster cocktail was lost. Was I a bit of a rush for Kimmel Center. Still, nice meal. Oysters were somewhat chopped up, not the usual quality at Loch.

First time going to this place. What a vibe. From the great service, the food was great. The live music was a great touch. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something more upbeat in dining.

Everytime we visit Loch Bar, the food is terrific - always fresh and well prepared. However, on our most recent visit, it felt as though some aspects of the service were undermining the "high end" dining vibe that, in part, makes the menu pricing worthwhile. For example, our table was not ready at the reservation time, despite letting the restaurant know we had theater tix to meet, so we were initially sat at the bar. OK, happens all the time, but when we ordered some drinks and raw bar, we were required to give our server a credit card before the order even when in. It felt like an accusation of Dine and Dash and has no place in better dining. Two of the four drinks we ordered were not initially made correctly, although that was promptly rectified. So we were were seated late and our order was taken promptly and correctly, but when we were down to 5 minutes before showtime (across the street), our server was nowhere to be found, and the folks at the Maitre'd stand seemed unmotivated to resolve the problem. At $500 for a table for four, excluding tip, I expect better. Ocean Prime next time, I think.
