Fantastic Raw Bar in River Oaks district. Great live music, amazing whiskey list.
Overall food was good. Crab cakes were pretty good but not as good as ones in Maryland. Foregone conclusion drink was great. Other food items were tasty as well.
Our waiter Diego was very attentive and the food was exceptional!
Will never go back. Incredibly poor service and overpriced and mediocre food.
Justice provided excellence service and was very knowledgable about the menu.
Great music, ambience and food
Love Loch bar!!
My first trip to Loch Bar and I will be back. The oysters were fresh and delicious as was the other food we sampled. Fish and Chips and Hush Puppies were very good. This is not just a fish place thought. I had the Pork Chop and it was the best I ever had! It was served with some grilled Kale that was a different spin on Kale. Wait staff was terrific and the Manager came and spoke tom us twice and made us feel welcome.
Birthday of my bf’s mom
By far the BEST seafood I’ve ever had. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the lobster roll. We ordered oysters for appetizer. EVERYTHING WAS FRESH!! Definitely my new fav spot...
Overall excellent! However one of my biggest irritations is when everyone’s food does not arrive at the table within a few minutes of each other. This was noted and the manager was very kind to stop by and apologize. It was my parents 62nd wedding anniversary and they were both impressed by the food. Any restaurant that gets my mom’s seal of approval is a winner! I will definitely be back for more!
Food and drinks were great!
Aaron was impeccable, he made sure see we’re ok atleast every 10-15 minutes and if we needed anything. Food came out rapidly and everyone that was helping Aaron was so nice! It’s definitely team work at this restaurant, we did not lack ANYTHING. I love this place I hope they keep up the good service and good staff!
Great! Justice, the waiter was fabulous and David , the manager, very warm and welcoming
This bar has so much potential.... our server was very unprofessional and less than enthusiastic. Our seafood tower melted and sat in water which they ended up spilling all over the place- the seafood smelled very bad and was not appetizing because of this. At these prices, this will not make it if they don't up their game! Same for Ouzo Bay. Shame because they are both beautiful and in a great location.
This is basically a raw bar. There are a few kitchen items on the menu but if you are looking for a selection of fish or steaks this is not the place. Try their sister restaurant next door for a greater variety of cooked seafood.
Excellent choices of fresh oysters, service was spot on, thanks to Sage our waiter, food was alright.
They have lobsters that are tied up and still alive that they've put on ice. It's just like watching animals get tortured while you eat and the manager just thought I was crazy when I brought that up...it's like how hard is it to get a fish tank and put them in water until they meet their demise?
Table for two are really close together, hard to have an intimate conversation. Food was great and loved the live band. Great service!
Great waiter. Food was off the chain. Crab cakes are the best in Houston.
The food from the raw bar was fabulous. The fresh oysters were lovely. The hot food was fine, but it was not spectacular. The dessert was not great. Our waitress was preoccupied with a table of gentlemen beside ours, and she seemed to forget about us. We ordered coffee, but it never came, and then we had to ask for the check so we could leave.
Worst lobster roll EVER! Bread was soggy and soaked in butter. No flavor at all - was totally bland. And worst panda cotta we’ve ever had. This was my second visit - the first was better, but we won’t be back.
Excellent new seafood restaurant
Varied seafood centric menu
Great bar and wine list
Pricey but good seafood is not cheap
Somewhat loud when filled
Stays open late
From looking at the menu I was very excited to try this new restaurant. Needless to say I was very disappointed in the quality of the food. We started with the Herbs & Lettuce salad which proved to be bland and nothing special. We then tried the Gravlox Carparccio which was alright but again nothing exciting. The mussels were alright as well but I have had better. We were really excited about the caviar because we love good caviar and we love when we find a new place that serves it. We ordered the Kaluga Huso Royal which was supposed to be the best one. Let me just say that I have never had caviar that I did not like but this caviar was not good. After 4 bites I could not eat it. It was slimy and had a sour taste. The belinis were cold and mushy plus they had some kind of sweet pickle relish with all the other accoutrements. Needless to say we will not be back and will not be trying Ouzo Bay which they are affiliated with as well. Very disappointing.
Great service and the food is actually delicious!!!!
Overall good restaurant, good food, and good atmosphere! I will be back. Try the chicken- both!
Birthday dinner for my friend. Justice, our waiter was top notch!
Service was outstanding
The crab cakes were really good. The red snapper was ok.
Went for dinner. Had champagne, wine, seafood tower, main courses, dessert, family style... glasses were not polished and had dishwasher streaks all over them. Way too many servers were attending our table, constantly interrupting, couldn’t have a conversation, glasses were over poured and shared plates were cleared WHILE we were still eating and before we finished. The restaurant wasn’t full or too busy. Live band was nice.
Food was not great, just good. The fish wasn’t cooked properly. They took it off our bill and apologized and offered to make one to go. Nothing was overly impressive except the restaurant itself. I would not recommend. Much better seafood in Houston.
Great food and service, beautiful restaurant and bar...the live music is fun and the ambiance is awesome. Definitely recommend checking this place out.
Service was very good and the scene was fun and happening, but the food was disappointing. This restaurant didn't live up to its hype, and we're not planning on returning.
it's a very poor value. $6 for one shrimp is silly.
tuna was out standing, red snapper was fair, have definitely had better. Great place for drinks.
Fun, enjoyed it. Nice drinks and service. A bit slow to get dinner but overall will come back.
Food quality was very poor, service was moderately good- our server was extremely busy as she was triple sat at the same time we walked in. We were not able to get our drinks ordered for about 15minutes.
There seemed to be a common thread throughout the evening - complacency and a lack of pride throughout the entire meal. Served a Caesar salad with the butt still attached , bar served $25/glass cab and chard in cloudy/dirty glasses (which they just poured into a cleaner glass). French fries were burnt and the food entree seemed thrown together. Took about 15minutes to get our drinks, no manager interaction with guests (at least us), lack of communication from server to manager. The list can go on.
For the foodies in Houston- for this price point don’t bother. I should have taken photos! Sorry everyone- you’ll have to take my word on this one.
Love Loch Bar. The food is mediocre and over priced but the drinks and ambiance make up for it.
