In a nutshell: A big disappointment and seemingly trending downward. We’ve been going to Loch Bar occasionally since they opened. It’s been a pleasant outdoor space with above-average food. Based on our most-recent visit, they need to improve markedly to be considered average. The owners, Atlas Restaurant Group, have long touted the quality of their ingredients; this claim can no longer be made with any validity. Our sad experience began with a prolonged wait for a host/maitre d’ at the entry podium. Except for the other guests waiting to be seated, the entry area was not occupied for several minutes as serving staff went by the area completely ignoring the waiting diners. A manager was nowhere in sight. Finally, after a hostess arrived and we were next in line, I asked if they were short-handed for the evening. She said no, that she always covered the position by herself. I didn’t dispute this, but whenever we’re been to Loch Bar in the past, 2-3 hosts/hostesses were present. The dining room area was as usual, incredibly loud, a din more resembling a rowdy, drunken beer hall than a restaurant. Once seated outdoors (beware of the lantern flies), our server arrived promptly; she did an excellent job throughout the meal; the food courses arrived promptly, a significant improvement from the inconsistency of previous visits. As far as quality of the offerings goes, the kitchen and bar performed less than acceptably: (1) The gin and tonic was thin, watery, and flat and without the requested lime. (2) The fried oysters, which we have enjoyed on many occasions in the past, were very chewy. (3) The breading on the fish ‘n chips was overcooked. (4) The crab cakes, which had been promoted as having lump crab meat, had barely a hint of any; instead they consisted of a paste of shredded crab meat that had an unpleasant taste/texture. Throughout the meal, we never saw any management personnel checking on customer happiness (it’s a bad sign when management hides).

We went there for our anniversary. It was a Monday so low crowd. Service was excellent. Food was good. Atomosphere was exquisite. They surprised us with dessert at the end to celebrate our anniversary which was a nice touch. Highly recommend.

We frequent Loch Bar for their lobster roll and oysters. Today’s visit was for a friend’s birthday and we ordered the whole lobster with some sides, oysters, and steak. Everything was amazing! But our most favorite part of the visit was our server, Ángeles, who is always pleasant and helpful :). We look forward to our next visit!

The food was enjoyable. The drinks were particularly good. Heart of Gold is a great bourbon cocktail. We sat outside so we had a nice view of the harbor and it’s a great people watching spot. It’s pretty pricey for what you get but I can’t complain about any of the food we ordered.

3 of the 5 food orders we had were incorrect during which was aggravating. Waiter rarely checked in on us, took nearly 15 minutes to get a side of ranch brought out. Seemed the waiter was hyper focused on the guests outside on the patio instead of us. Very disappointing experience. Appetizers were great, entrees were average despite them being incorrect.

An ideal lunch spot—especially on a sunny day. I came with a somewhat large group (6 people) for lunch. We sat outside with beautiful views of the water. The service was friendly and quick, but not rushed. I got the Caesar salad with salmon and it was delicious. Would return!

Great food, drinks and service, second time celebrating my Birthday there. I also recommended to one of the reps of a drug company. Was glad she took me up on the recommendation. The service, food, ambience as we had a private area and drinks for that event was excellent.

I must say Loch Bar exceeded my expectations. I went to celebrate my sister and nieces birthday and was very impressed with the ambiance, service and food. Shout out to the hostess, our server Dalanie, wand Mr. Will the manager who helped make it a great birthday experience. I will definitely be visiting Loch Bar again.

The waiter was super slow, he was nice but it took about 10 minutes for anyone to offer a drink etc. Food came out to the wrong table. The Spanish waitress serving water came over half way through to ask if we would like water, I said yes and then she walked away and never came back.

My family took me here for a birthday dinner. This was our first time here and we were very underwhelmed. The food was ok. We had appetizers of crab dip and fried oysters. The fried oysters were good. The crab dip lacked flavor. Our main course consisted of lobster roll, club sandwich, and shrimp club sandwich. Everything was bland. The lobster roll bread was dry. The location is beautiful but the restaurant was unkept. The bathroom was filthy! Based on the price point and neighboring restaurants, it’s really not worth it.

We had a late lunch that included the Crab Grilled Chesse sandwich with fries, and I had the Lobster Roll dressed in micro greens. Both sandwiches were rich and buttery, one with jumbo lump crab and the other with chunks of lobster. Yes, Baltimore is known for its crabcakes, and these two selections are just as delightful! I recommend both with fries or a spring mix salad.

Food was average. The salad had way too much dressing. It’s better to have less and ask for more because once it’s on, you can’t take it off. We also got the mahi sandwich and it was fine but not worth the price. Too much mayo and not enough fish. Lastly the server kept calling everyone “friend” which I found annoying, then forgot our drink order with our meal, and lastly saw us on the way out and asked if we wanted menus. It was like she hadn’t just waited on us for an hour!

Birthday dinner for my husband. He was greeted on our arrival with happy birthday wishes from various staff members in addition to our waiter when we were seated. I thought that was a nice touch and it made him feel special. The crab dip appetizer was very tasty. I had the Chesapeake club sandwich (minus the fried oysters) which was good. Hubby had fish & chips, which he liked but the Hake fish had a few bones which was a turn off for him. It was after happy hour when we dined in but the restaurant was extremely loud. It’s small and there is ample outdoor dining which I like but not hubby. The waiter brought over a complimentary slice of Smith Island Cake and sang happy birthday to my husband. The cake was delicious and the staff was very friendly. It was an enjoyable experience. The restaurant is situated in Harbor East with views of the boats docked at the inner harbor. It’s a nice look.

We had a great time at the Loca bar. The grill cheese crab sandwich was very good with some extra old bay. The steam shrimps were a bit overcooked but the old bay helped. The stake was also over cooked (we asked for medium rare but we got medium well). The salmon wrap was very good. Dessert was amazing! The strawberry rhubarb cheesecake was delicious.

Our waiter Sandy was fantastic. He was funny, friend illy, knowledgeable and welcoming. The Lobster Roll and Crab Cheese Sandwich were out of this world and the oysters were incredible. We are a bunch of Oregonians and highly recommend!
