Service was so slow today . We get better service when they are busy. It took over 20 minutes until our server decided to come by us and there were only few tables and other servers. We ordered several appetizers and they brought all the appetizers at once which was overwhelming and would obviously get cold. Items were cold and they had to make a few items twice. Would have rather stayed in, the whole experience was over three hours. Lastly, the tables were not six feet apart, more like 2-3 and didn’t feel safe.
Slowest service ever, and they weren’t even busy. We got our appetizers before we got our drinks, even though we ordered the drinks first. Took a long time for the waitress to greet us as well. We left right right after we ate our appetizers and went next door to Bygone instead.
Pour server was not attentive and at times almost rude .. At times I felt concerned about asking a question.. the hostess was wonderful
Lobster roll is amazing.
Please don’t try to sit outside on a windy day. It’s like a wind tunnel. Multiple dishes and glasses went flying. Otherwise it’s a great place with delicious food options.
The staff was friendly and attentive. The oysters were excellent and so were the crab cakes. The fish and chips could use real chips vs string fries.
As always it was great. One of my favorites in the city for sure!
Great food and great staff
Initially service was crappy: food was late, desert was late, and steak was not cooked as requested. However, once i shared my concerns with William-the manager, he did a phenomenal job. We eventually left very pleased with Loch Bar. Thanks William!
Excellent selection of oysters, good cocktails and wine list.
Everything was perfect, but I expect much more from service ...
Having been on covid lockdown for a year, returning to Loch Bar was the perfect place for an outdoor lunch on a beautiful sunny afternoon. As usual, the food was delicious. The cream of crab soup, baked Rockefeller oysters, lobster rolls accompanied by an extremely fresh salad all make me just want to come back soon as possible.
Experience was great
The service was terrible, both me and my fiancé are servers in the fine dining industry and we were very disappointed with the service.
Took my mother for lunch. She loved it! Left her phone and they kept it safe until we returned an hour later to get it. Mr Robert at valet is my favorite guy! Always a great day when I visit Loch Bar
We waiting about 25 mins for 18 oysters and on top of that a patron bought a dog INSIDE the restaurant which completely turned us off. Mind you outside seating was open. Service is usually exceptional but not this day. I’m a loyal patron but my friend said she won’t come back.
I’ve always had great experiences at Loch Bar. I’m certain you will too!
Their menu is vast with a wide selection of local favorites seafood.
Birthday dinner. The whiskey flights are awesome.
The Good: Server Raul was cheerful, upbeat and attentive. The Bad: Food and drinks were underwhelming: the crab dip and oysters Rockefeller we're composed of a similar uninspiring goop, and the cocktails were, stingy. The Ugly: specifically requested in advance a table away from the kitchen by a window (note: there were plenty of other tables before we were seated, so shame on me for not pointing this out on the spot). We were eventually seated at a small table in front of a service closet which contained food takeout materials and other supplies. The staff needed to access this supply closet three times in the first 10 minutes of us being seated. Accessing the closet required us to stand up and move our chairs and table ~ Giving the staff a helping hand on occasion is always appropriate. However, it was obvious that the staff was annoyed with this table's location, and was becoming increasingly annoyed with us for not moving our chairs and table fast enough. After approaching the maitre'd, explaining that this situation would be untenable for a sit-down meal, he (without a word), gestured to a new table that was a good fit. Bottom line: If you're headed to Loch Bar for the location you're going to the right spot ~ as for cuisine and hospitality, you'll need to manage your expectations.
We ate outside to avoid the packed unmasked bar and not distanced tables, so it was cold but food and service was wonderful and it was worth it!
Excellent as always.
Service was absolutely horrible, restaurant was not busy at all and we waited about 10-15 to be greeted by a server. Waited about another 15-20min for our drinks at that time we waited again for the waiter to come take our food orders at which point we were ready to go and left.
The food was amazing! The service was terrible though. Everyone that was at our table works in the industry and we were actually shocked by the lack of service we received. Even with Covid and having less servers possibly and being busy, keeping all of that in mind... it was terrible for the amount we were paying for dinner. Would still love to go back, and just hope for better service.
Brian apologized for a longer-than-usual wait but more than made up for it with very attentive service. The Sea Bass bouillabaisse was perfect. The salmon was overcooked but flavorful.
Outstanding Seafood and Service. We love Loch Bar and it is the ONE restaurant we have been visiting in person for lunch in Baltimore. As a New Englander - I love their lobster rolls made from freshly flown in Lobster. They have an amazing selection of Oysters. The Crab dip (appetizer) is just perfect - and their Crab cakes are exceptional. Cannot wait for the good weather so we can eat outside. It's within walking distance for us and our new favorite spot.
Picturesque views, excellent service, and delicious seafood and sides. The local Maryland oysters are probably the best I've ever had.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Top notch across the board
They definitely dot soc
Loch Bar was sensational. Great ambiance, great service, and amazing food.
Great ambiance, delicious food and drinks!
Our waitress was attentive and our meal was good, ambience was sub par. Pictures online do not show the area where we were seated.
We are doing our part to support restaurants. It is Covid; therefore, understand there are social distancing guidelines and time restrictions. We respect restaurants need to do what they need to need to stay open, but admit we are sticklers for where we are seated regardless of restaurant restrictions. We do not like to be seated next to service areas, kitchens or bathrooms. If this is the only option to reserve a table then it should be disclosed when making the reservation.
Note to those who make a reservation who are looking for ambience ... request the main dining/bar room. Do not be seated at a table in the side dining area.
The main dining/bar room has tufted booth seating and nice lighting. Then there is a side dining area which is quite blah, perhaps a make shift space to accommodate more diners during Covid? It has no ambience whatsoever!
We felt as though we were sitting in the service bar. I need to mention the manager did notice how uncomfortable we were and asked if we wanted to be moved to another table. We declined as the other table was next to another service bar and in front of the door to the restrooms.
We felt like we were seated in a mediocre sub/burger shop. Perhaps in the summer when the doors are open and the inside flows to the outdoor patio the ambience might be more desirable.
Excellent fresh oysters and seafood. Somewhat overpriced and hotel bar vibe but overall a great meal.
Happy hour was so much fun! 3-6 PM on weekdays.
Such great variety for food and drink for happy hour.
Recommend mini crab cakes, old bay fries, and Moules frites!
Sitting is not 6 feet apart, the food was underwhelming
Great Valentine’s day lunch!
Very overpriced for the quality of the food. It was a fixed Valentine’s Day menu and we got the steak which was not cooked properly, the vegetable was burnt and the potatoes were not good. It was a lot of money for okay food.
Loch bar always delivers. It was a successful Valentine's day date.
My only concern is that the tables were definitely not six feet apart but everything was phenomenal
Best lobster roll ever!! The Scallop ceviche was gorgeous and tasty. And the oysters were great too. They have a big, beautiful space which I always love!
Perfect day!
