Absolutely beautiful. The scenery, the food, the service and the layout was gorgeous. Highly recommend and will be coming back again.

We had a great short trip to the Hunter Valley with an overnight stay at Kirkton Park. After reading a number of reviews, I was i little anxious to dine at Locavore, but was not interested in leaving the hotel. I must say that it was a very good dining experience all up. Friendly service, great food & wine, from pre- dinner drinks to desert. Thanks

The service wasn’t poor in terms of lack of effort or friendliness...just seemed under staffed & not very attentive. Water not re-filled, requests multiple times for wine list (so that we could spend more money while we waited over 45 minutes before any food hit the table)...then the disappointment that the food was a little bit underwhelming. Not bad by any means but waiting a good hour & a half for a main to come out meant we were hopeful it was going to be worth the wait...unfortunately what we thought would be amazing was very average (especially given the price).

Beautiful decor. Good selection of dishes with good service.
Unfortunately the ambiance was very subdued as there were berry few guests on this Saturday night.

While the venue and atmosphere was great, the service we experienced was poor. Some meals were stellar, but others disappointing. Sadly, it did not live up to the reviews we had read online previously.

We did the 5 course degustation and the food tasted as though it was frozen reheated, some dished were inedible and we sent them back. The wines were cheap and nasty and did not compliment the dishes what so ever. We didn’t even drink most of them. The staff were amazing though and extremely helpful and apologetic of the standard of the food and drinks.
One fault we found in the staff was we stayed on the booking it was a special occasion, they acknowledged it when we arrived but that was all. Disappointing.

Our team is always available for you to sample alternative dishes if they were not to your liking. Will definitely be back when visiting the Hunter. Great food and service. Lovely ambience and very tastefully decorated restaurant. Loved it.

The food was good but taste of certain foods lacked flavour.

The staff were very nice and attentive.

The restaurant itself felt dark and dingy not luxurious.

The interior design needs a face lift.

Overall we would return as it is a beautiful and relaxed setting.

Having the bar area with TV and pool room is a nice feature also.

We look forward to returning in the future.

Terrible. Service was slow and almost non existent (we went and found reception staff to settle our bill as there was no one to be seen in the restaurant for 20 minutes). Food was OK, definitely not worth the price they were charging.

Ended up going for my fiancé and I 1 year engagement together food was amazing the place was beautiful and the staff was lovely, did get forgotten about drinks a couple of times but was still a fantastic night definitely going back

Meals with lots of flavour and beautifully presented - even had a free appetiser to start. Both of us could not fault any aspect of our meal. Staff were courteous and had extensive knowledge of their product, they also made great detailed suggestions of wines. I had a entrée of scallops with crab meat - it was to die for. The main consisted of steamed whiting and a vast erray of perfectly cooked greens. They are very innovative in their flavour combinations, which definitely WORKS. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to all.

Celebrated our first wedding anniversary with my husband at the Locavore at Kirkton Park and the night was perfect! Excellent service from the Locavore team to make our anniversary dinner extra special with complimentary sparkling wine and the dishes we ordered was perfect! Highly recommend it for anniversaries or even date night! Thank you again! Hope to bring our little one next time!

We were so well looked after. The staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and we had the best time. We had some friends out from the US, and they absolutely loved it. Definitely coming back.

Terrible flavor in the meal. Both spatchcock and pork were dry. Service was slow, we were waiting over 40 mins between entree and main. Very small portion sizes.

Would not recommend.

A wonderful experience celebrating my beautiful partners 30th Birthday. Staff were very accommodating and the restaurant had a wonderful warm ambiance to it. Food was beautiful, albeit small in sizing.

My family and I travelled from Sydney to the Hunter Valley for my twins 21st birthday . We chose Lacavore because of the previous high reviews. The decor and overall ambiance was good. The staff were friendly but did not go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We arrived at 7:30 pm received bread rolls after 10 minutes which started off well but the entree took 20 minutes to arrive and was so small and mediocre. We regularly go to fine dining restaurants and was not used to such poor service. The dinner finally arrived at 9pm and one of the side dishes arrived midway and the other never arrived. We received no apologies except that you will not be charged for the entree. The menu was not on any of the websites hence I was dissapointed at the small selection upon arrival.

Deeply dissatisfied and will not be recommending any of our friends go there.

We waited over 30 minutes for our drink order to arrive and there was no sign of it until we asked again for our bottle of wine.

Then we waited 2 hours for our main meal. When it arrived it looked like the duck had been cooking for the 2 hours. One of the worst dining experiences of my life.

At $45 for a main, the restaurant is moderately expensive. This is OK but the price does create a level of expectation which sadly was not met.

My gripes ... We arrived at the restaurant and had to wait 5-10 minutes before the wait staff attended to us taking us to our seat (maybe they were busy?) We ordered entree, mains and wine to accompany. The entree actually arrived promptly (more promptly than our wine). Entree completed and we are still waiting for our wine. After 30 minutes of looking at our dirty entree plates I manage to attract the attention of the waitstaff and ask about our wine. She at last clears the plates and goes off to find the wine. She eventually comes back with the wine but the bottle is already open (surely if I am paying $75 for a bottle of wine I should get to see the bottle and have it opened it in front of me). We then settled down for what would become a two hour wait for our mains. I don't know what the problem was and it certainly wasn't unique to our table with many customers looking hungry. It was quite comical to watch the wait staff do anything to avoid customers in the restaurant. I even had to go to the service station to replenish the water at my table. Mains finally arrive only to have to wait another 15 minutes for the side dishes (shouldn't side dishes be with the mains). I was not brave enough to order a dessert (as I was getting very tired). The waitress was very quick to bring the bill though

For a positive the food was good without being spectacular. Fortunately there are many great restaurants in the Hunter Valley. I don't think I will ever feel the need to go back to this one.

Was a nice high tea. A bit cold though. The view was lovely. General feedback from the group about the food was that it was good but nothing to write home about.
