Locanda Verde is our neighborhood osteria serving Chef Andrew Carmellini's soul-satisfying urban Italian cuisine.

Our bustling Tribeca corner restaurant has been welcoming New Yorkers morning, noon and night since 2009 with a warm and comfortable atmosphere, leisurely Italian spirit and heartfelt cooking. In 2024, we opened our second location uptown on the prime, street-level corner of 50 Hudson Yards, bringing our downtown sensibilities and iconic urban Italian menu to an exciting new neighborhood.

We were promptly seated at the time of our reservation. The place has a nice atmosphere, pleasant color palette for seats and tables and noise level allows conversations. The tables are too small for the dishes the food is served in and plates (grand ma's house) don't match the overall ambience (cocktail lounge). The service was friendly yet confused; with menus we were given a cocktail list (hence the lounge) and I had to ask for the wine list. Before even we had a chance to look at the food menu the sommelier appeared asking what we would like. There is an extensive list of Italian wines mostly on high end and expensive. The food was uneven. The grandmother's ravioli was tasty but nothing special. The bistecca was nicely prepared but the two side dishes we ordered were just awful. The glazed carrots could have been a puree of carrots. The potatoes were an unrecognizable mush of something resembled potatoes. The deserts were better, the grapefruit granita was surprisingly refreshing and panna Cota with rhubarb was an interesting and a tasty concoction. Overall I would not bother to return to Locanda Verde at Hudson Yards. In a city full of great Italian restaurants it is simply boring.

I got an e mail from open table stating we were a no show and we actually showed up five minutes early Really? Spent 500 dollars for 2 people Get your act together

Beautiful restaurant. Food is great and good for business meetings. Room is very festive with energy. I would prefer having the option to be seated before the entire party arrives. The bar area gets very crowded.

Without question one of our favorite restaurants—in New York or elsewhere. The Hudson Yards location is every bit as lovely as the original in Tribeca, and the food does not disappoint. Highly recommend—a must visit whenever we are in NY!

Did an early bday dinner here and it was amazing. Came here with my girlfriend and the service was impeccable and the food somehow even better. Definitely coming back!

Average food and service - for ridiculous price. So many options in Manhattan. Nice decor is the only redeeming quality. This one won’t last - If doesn’t change. Disappointing given other location in Tribeca was good.
