About Locanda Veneta
One of LA’s best Italian restaurants, Locanda Veneta aims to transport you to Venice, Italy. Where the freshest and often deceptively simplest ingredients are combined and cooked into art. The cozy room, often dotted with celebs, is elegant but there’s nothing fussy about the menu. Here you’ll find favorites such as a fresh-vegetable minestrone; wild mushroom risotto; and spinach and ricotta cheese gnocchi. Garlic, fresh herbs and olive oil dress many of the pasta, meat and fish dishes; and the veal scaloppini gets a different preparation every night. When an Italian spot is as classic as this, how can you skip a dessert of tiramisu? Our extensive wine list complements your meal, with selections mainly from Italy, France and California.

Locanda Veneta Ratings and Reviews
OMG the food and service here has always been the best. Came here in 1989 for the first time before moving to Los Angeles..and in 1990 we moved here and still dine here. A lot to be said for a place that is still around in this day and age. Wonderful service....Massimo is an absolute delight. Entree portions are generous. I had the Grilled Branzino the other night and it was superb. Food is cooked upon ordering....huge grill. Excellent wines...and the amaretto cheese cake is to die for...home made on the spot.
This used to be a super hot restaurant in the 90's with very difficult reservations. The hip investor type restaurants keep popping up but Locanda is here to stay. Excellent food prepared well and served very hot. Charming small Italian space with tables very close but not a problem.
I've known about the place for a long time, but for some reason had never gone. Went on a date there and the food and ambiance was just perfect. Excellent wine, far above average food, great service and diverse clientele. Loved it and will be going back soon.
One of the best Italian restaurants in L. A. Locanda Veneta does a superb job with Italian classics, but also offers dishes that one rarely sees outside Italy, like calamari grilled with swiss chard -- spicy, light and incredibly flavorful --or a whole deboned chicken with fresh lemon sauce. Service is very friendly and prompt. A real gem.
"Traditional Italian restaurant" would be a good description of it. From its lay out and decoration, non sofisticated, to the Menu offer and style of recipes and preparations. It was exactly what we were looking for: just some well done pasta and a good bottle of italian wine.
Good experience, good food.
90° outside and AC wasn’t working properly. A little warm and stuffy. The waiter explaining their AC doesn’t work very well. They also seem to serve large table or so of staff from Cedars-Sinai Hospital across the street, so atmosphere is more business than intimate. But the food is distinctive and well done.
