A sweet and delicious place for before theatre (Wallis) dining.
Lovely restaurant, delicious food and excellent service. Appreciated the parking & valet options, too.
Reservations were honored without any waiting, and we were seated at a very nice private table by the window. The wine list was good, albeit small. Food selections were excellent, and while we did not select the lunch combinations, the overall pricing was reasonable a-la-carte, and the food delicious. The serving sizes were plentiful for a leisurely lunch, and the waiters were friendly and attentive. Locanda could use a full bar.
Delicious food in one of our favourite LA eateries
This place never disappoints us! We’re italians (from Italy) and the food, the wine, the atmosphere, and Massimo are what always turns our evening into a memorable event! Grazie mille di tutto!!!!
I had gone to Locanda Veneta during DineLA and loved the squid appetizer dish, so I went back for the dinner portion of that dish. It was as outstanding as I recalled. Best squid dish I've ever eaten. The sauteed swiss chard was surprisingly complementary with the squid.
Loved the food and the wat they run the restaurant !! 👍🏻👍🏻
Darling restaurant with delicious food. A classic Italian treasure . The service was fantastic. One thing we appreciated is that if you bring a wine and buy a second wine, the corkage fee is waived. That was a nice surprise. Will go back again.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and it was perfect and they made us feel very special! Great food, atmosphere and service! Will definitely be going back!
A local hidden gem. Been coming here for almost 5 years. Never been disappointed. Massimo is at his best. From dairy free soups, amazing eggplant to the best risotto ever with Dungeness crab and soft shell crab. Cant wiat to return.
Great service, delicious food, authentic environment. I'll be back!
Service and food were outstanding. Stuffed Pork Chip with Poleta was exceptional and homemade pasta with wild boar ragu a masterpiece.
Everything was excellent from the service to the food. It was prepared creatively and perfectly portioned and seasoned. So enjoyed this meal and can't wait to bring some friends. The wines were wonderful and the recommendations were reasonable.
Great as usual!
Food and wine were great. Service was good but I felt very rushed to vacate the table after 45 minutes.
Good food, but it took an hour from when we ordered to actually being served.
The restaurant had everything in it’s favor - excellent service, food, ambience, wine...didn’t feel like Los Angeles. We will be regulars.
A beautiful restaurant and the perfect place for celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. The most perfect pasta in LA and the intimate ambiance is hard to beat. Looking forward to my next visit!
The food was amazing and the service was great! The black truffle risotto was heavenly. I was sad the next morning when I woke up wanting more. Highly recommend.
Very Old School has n the best way.
We got engaged here! Was a total surprise but the waitstaff was wonderful... brought us champagne and everything! 💜
As always the food was absolutely delicious and the service attentive.
It was perfect in every way post gallery celebration with the artist. waiter was charming and helpful and personable.
OMG the food and service here has always been the best. Came here in 1989 for the first time before moving to Los Angeles..and in 1990 we moved here and still dine here. A lot to be said for a place that is still around in this day and age. Wonderful service....Massimo is an absolute delight. Entree portions are generous. I had the Grilled Branzino the other night and it was superb. Food is cooked upon ordering....huge grill. Excellent wines...and the amaretto cheese cake is to die for...home made on the spot.
Excellent all round
This used to be a super hot restaurant in the 90's with very difficult reservations. The hip investor type restaurants keep popping up but Locanda is here to stay. Excellent food prepared well and served very hot. Charming small Italian space with tables very close but not a problem.
I've known about the place for a long time, but for some reason had never gone. Went on a date there and the food and ambiance was just perfect. Excellent wine, far above average food, great service and diverse clientele. Loved it and will be going back soon.
It has that european feel of a small neighborhood gem. Cozy tables, friendly people, and outstanding food and service. House made pastas that are authentic and delicious...loved the ravioli. The real deal like in Italy. Fantastic desserts too.
this is my go-to restaurant to meet friends and have very good Italian food
Still one of my all time favorites. Ernesto is a kind, thoughtful waiter. Great wine selection. Everything on the menu is amazing. Great dairy free soups and options. The lamb shank was wonderful.
Great authentic traditional Italian food. It was a surprise birthday celebration for me and they brought out a whole apple tart for the table with ice cream and caramel sauce. Unbelievably great !
The food was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Nice wine pours!
We devoured a burrata appetizer and each had a pasta dish. Both were fresh, delicious, and expertly prepared. The atmosphere is fun and cozy. I will be back soon!
It’s been there a long time. It knows what it’s doing. This can go either way— a “tired” feeling, a “wise” feeling. We wanted quiet, cozy, good food. Not a “scene.” We loved it.
One of the best Italian restaurants in L. A. Locanda Veneta does a superb job with Italian classics, but also offers dishes that one rarely sees outside Italy, like calamari grilled with swiss chard -- spicy, light and incredibly flavorful --or a whole deboned chicken with fresh lemon sauce. Service is very friendly and prompt. A real gem.
The special Alfredo-style pasta with sea urchin and caviar was one of the most delicious pastas I have ever had.
Excellent food, outstanding service, comfortable and quiet atmosphere.
We have been going to Locanda since it opened 30 years ago and you never get tired of the greatness of every aspect of the restaurant
Locanda Veneta never disappoints; they have the best spaghetti I have ever had and a really good wine list. I would recommend for any foodies that want to enjoy an authentic Italian restaurant with great food!
