First time at this foodie heaven neighborhood gem with romantic ambiance and outstanding outdoor seating. Authentic Italian and great, welcoming and attentive service. Loved the grilled veggies with gorgonzola, cozze en vongole shellfish in delicious sauce and seafood pasta. Kept the yummy bread coming, so much to dip into! Great wine selection, don't forget tiramisu or biscotti dipped in more booze for dessert. Plenty of free parking nearby, mille grazie until next time!
A hole in the wall with the most amazing authentic Italian food
All home made pasta fresh seafood
The service was fabulous and the food was delicious. What a wonderful hidden gem.
It’s hard to find more overpriced Italian food anywhere in Los Angeles. If they’re running a 50% off sale definitely worth going. The maskless waiter clearly had much more important things to do than taking care of customers. The patio is lovely.
Service first rate. Owner & staff very attentive. Food is great with freshest of ingredients. The outside patio is set up beautifully.
Missing Sperlonga after this amazing meal. Enjoyed an evening out with my daughter. Thank you!
Really disappointed with the food. Had the Dine LA menu. First two courses were good but entree (short ribs and polenta) and dessert (affogato) were mediocre at best.
Service was slow, impersonal and indifferent. For a restaurant in this price range I expect a lot better. I won’t be returning any time soon.
Outstanding birthday dinner was amazing. Top notch service.
Great place and delicious food. The service is superb. It is most definitely a special neighborhood gathering spot
Service and food couldn’t be better. My wife and I came for our date night and fell in love with the place. Daniele and Jaime went above and beyond making our experience the best it possibly could have been
Went on a Saturday night during Dine LA week with 4 people. Two of our friends with us had never been there before. We were greeted with by the welcoming host. The evening was wonderful with delicious food, great service and very relax and charming ambiance. They doubled their patio seating since the pandemic. A very nice addition. Our friends loved it too. I am sure we'll return in the near future.
I was hoping this might be my new go to local spot, but tbh the service was so bad that even if the food was stellar, I’d really think about returning to give them my hard earned dollars. From the start the host simply pointed to the back of the outdoor area for us to be seated, too lazy to actually walk us the 20 ft so we wouldn’t have to guess which table he wanted us to sit at? After the waiter came to bring water, noone paid us any attention for @15-20 minutes to place our order. I got the attention of another waiter who apologized and seemed on top of it, but then disappeared again. We had to ask for a dessert menu 10 minutes after finishing dinner, and then waited forever for a check. The food itself was good. We had mussels and clams to start, then shared a gf pasta dish that was just ok, then my partner had the Ossobuco which was quite good and I had the Branzino which was amazing and perfectly cooked. The spinach sides were awful— zero flavor. The servers felt like they didn’t really care and almost like they were doing us a favor— which can be very Italian, but in a city full of amazing restaurants vying for my attention, the next time I drop over $220.00 for dinner for 2 without drinks it will be elsewhere. I’m disappointed.
OMG. One of the BEST Italian restaurants I have ever been to and I am from Boston and have the North End! Authentic Italian (coming from a 100% Italian) and very accommodating staff. Outside patio was lovely. Highly recommend. Don’t let the location fool you!!!
Food was absolutely delicious. We were a somewhat large group for a birthday dinner and they were accommodating. Wine list is pretty pricey and not too worth it, but the food is worth it. Ordered carpaccio, rigatoni, burrata, gnocchi, to name a few, and they were all good. I still think about the rigatoni short rib
Xlnt as always.
Family-owned Italian restaurant right on Lincoln Blvd in the Marina (yes they have valet parking). Food is delightful with approaches both traditional and new. Outdoor dining available.
It was a lively evening the safety factor well thought about the food excellent smd service Thsnk you for the lovely experience
Food was great but service was a little slow
This place is excellent!!! We wanted to try 4 different types of pasta and the owner allowed us to order half portions for 2 people so we can try everything we wanted. He was just the sweetest man. Really loved the vibe of the place.
Incredible food and service. Great atmosphere
I was a little annoyed that the family sitting next to us, who sat down AFTER us, got bread before us, and got attended to before us… server didn’t ask us about drinks until after he brought wine and bread to the next table.
Other than that, the food came out fast once we ordered, and it was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend this restaurant although it is extremely expensive
A friend recommended Locanda Positano, noting that while the location didn't look great, the food and atmosphere were both excellent. She was right. Be aware that portions are on the large size; I wasn't able to finish my pasta, let alone that and a secondo!
Delicious pasta. You can tell it is homemade. Nice wine list and good daily specials.
The food and service are always great. We’re local and have been there several times. During the pandemic, they have done a nice job of converting a parking lot into something charming. Highly recommend.
Beautiful restaurant - great food and service. CA prices a little shocking coming from NY. Outside is a little intimidating.
Had a great time dinning for our anniversary and the food and service were top notch.
We have traveled to Italy numerous times and Locando reminds us of eating in the Tuscany or Umbria regions. Locando never disappoints.
We really enjoyed the place will be back sometime
The service was spot on. It was a great atmosphere. The food was very good.
Great place. Great food. Amazing service
Mediocre Italian food. I wish I could say better things about the food quality because the people were so nice and accommodating.
Food was wonderful and we were seated right away which was great. We were not served water or asked about drinks longer than expected and the waiter was short and abrupt with us. He also kept filling our glasses with wine without asking even though I didn’t want any more. He did say thank you every time we said thank you though and was polite.
Food was as great as always. Service was spot on. We will return again and again
This is my new favorite Italian restaurant and a Westside gem. I went last night with my entire family to celebrate my birthday. It was my second visit and it didn't disappoint! It is charming, unpretentious, quiet enough to have an enjoyable conversation, and best of all - the FOOD. The menu is so loaded with amazing choices, it's hard to decide. And it's all incredibly delicious. Service can be a little slow, but overall efficient and attentive. I can't wait to go back.
Loved it! Our new favorite Italian restaurant.
This was my first time at Locanda since the pandemic and I was so very pleased to be back! Food and service excellent as always. My only comment is that I do prefer the front dining room which didn’t appear to be open. It was more quaint. But this remains my favorite Italian food outside of Italy.
Food was OK. Staff really tried and there’s a large outdoor patio.
Tremendous food. Superb service.
great high quality authentic italian in marina del rey, yum.
