They treated me and my girlfriend like royalty for our anniversary. It is a night we will never forget thanks to how above and beyond everyone went who serviced us.
Love this place!!!
Service is impeccable!! Love the eggplant but, everything we’ve tried has been amazing!
This was our first visit to this restaurant. We were so pleased with everything. Service best in a very long time. Food was great. Will be returning for sure. Probably will become our go to restaurant. We live in Alamo and will also be trying their other restaurant in Danville soon
Not on the same level as the sister restaurant in Danville. Our service was sub-par, food ehh and a Smokey smell permeated the outdoor patio. Locondo Ravello is far better than this Lafayette spot.
Incredible. Service unparalleled. Food was delicious, even leftovers the next day!
Amazing attention to detail with anniversary treats.
Great service and really good food. The best Fritto Misto I’ve had! Our waiter was attentive and charming... we will return!
Really happy to find this great restaurant; food and service were excellent
Charming, relaxed, great food, wine, and service
The special was a peach salad-peaches were not ripe-crunchy and not sweet. I had the vegetarian pizza. The crust was burnt at the edges and raw everywhere else.
Great time. Thank you guys for treating us right!
Birthday dinner with friends.Friend was going to bring wine but the corkage fee is $30.00 RIdiculous.
Food was OK but too expensive. Seems like the menu was very heavy on pizza and had a few entrees. The restaurant has had several incarnations but we like the interior very much. Our waiter Ali was attentive. They brought me a lovely birthday dessert.
$122.00 for two with one glass of champagne which was actually prosecco.
Been there 3 times. 1st time excellent—best carbonara I have ever had (even in Italy. ). 2nd visit I had to send it back because it was sooo salty. Came back less salty but still too salty to enjoy. Last visit I stayed away from pasta and had a wonderful watermelon salad. But my friend had the lasagna and again very salty. I like salt but this was way over the top. I hope they get the salt issue fixed because their other food is good and I love the atmosphere and the drinks. Service is good, but very slow last two visits. It will probably be awhile before we return, and I hope it’s better
Three of our five meals were under cooked. The waiter never came back to check on us.
This family owned business is a local favorite. Authentic Italian ambiance, service, food and drinks! Had a wonderful birthday dinner with my best friend since childhood. Best eggplant parmesan ever - Mama's original recipe!
Lovely place with lovely food and lovely people!
Food is inconsistent
Great Father’s Day meal!! We are all very content!! Thank you!
This restaurant is fantastic! Great for lunch with a friend or a special occasion
We made a reservation on Open Table. Upon our arrival, there seemed to be an awkward waiting time with no good place to stand. However, once we were seated, things were great. Our group of five each ordered something different. Everything was really good and nobody left hungry. I would definitely recommend this place!
The food here is authentic Italian. The service is also outstanding and classic Italian.
Nice trattoria feel outside if a tad loud. VERY happy w all dishes
Raphael was outstanding. He made the evening a wonderful experience. His love for his work and his knowledge about the menu and the wine pairing made the evening a memorable one.
Way too noisy. Food not the best Italian in the east bay.
Locanda Positano In Lafayette is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Bay Area. The food is delicioso, the waitstaff and management are warm, gracious and fun!! It’s a real gem!!
The food & service were authentic -- I felt like I was in Italy!
Very festive and yummy for post graduation celebration with the out of towners.
Food was well prepared. Portions were ample, but not overdone. Service was friendly and attentive. Noise level permitted quiet conversation with friends. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Eggplant Parmesan one of my favorites! All staff so very nice each time we go. They all take the time to stop and say hello when you walk in. Made you feel like you were part of their family.
Great for our bday celebration.
We have been here several time and usually eat inside. This time outside which was a nice change. It does get very cool in Lafayette in the evenings so be prepared. The food here is genuine and very good. The service is always great. We'll be back!
Great meal. Raphael was the server and was great.
Came for my daughter’s birthday, Rafael treated her special! The food was amazing! We had the sea bass , eggplant parmigiana, chicken and gnocchi. Would definitely come back!
My friend and I were looking forward to dining here because of all the wonderful reviews, however it was a disappointment because of a couple of things. We ordered the veal piccata and the boneless chicken with a nice sauce. The veal was tough & over cooked while the chicken dish was quite good. The mixed vegetables that were served with each dish were fresh tasting and delicious. The ambiance was very nice, as well.
Our problem was the waiter. I’m not sure if he was new, which I would have understood and been patient with. However, he was beyond obnoxious by interrupting us with questions every few minutes. After our initial seating we informed our waiter that we’d need some time to look over the menu. We ordered 2 glasses of wine. Since I didn’t have my glasses with me, I asked him for a reasonable good wine. His suggestion resulted in the most expensive pinot noir they offered when we received the bill and I didn’t enjoy it. Overall, my guest & myself couldn’t finish a conversation due to his constant checking. It looked as if other diners enjoyed themselves but for me it was a disappointment.
The food was dead nice, probably my favorite meal in a while. I had carbonara, my buddy had one of the pizzas. Both of us killed the meals. Our server (don’t remember his name) was sweet, always keeping our waters filled and always at attention. Never had to wait for anything, tipping under 20% would’ve felt rude, it was really that good. Hostess was nice, prompt and all that. They had the Finals playing on a small TV that I could watch, but never felt like that was the focus of anyone in the restaurant. Noise level was super low, never struggled to hear the server or my friend. Once again, meal was tight, would 100% go again or recommend to anyone. Super awesome.
Excellent food. Service never felt rushed, so we had time to talk, but seemed that they needed more servers for the number of diners. Ambiance was casual but comfortable, not fussy. Noise level inside was loud, but could have been due to a couple of large parties that were celebrating joyfully. Would definitely go back. Good value.
Outstanding food, excellent service and ambiance. Highly recommend.
Locanda Positano was busy on the Saturday night we visited. St. Mary's College held its graduation activities that day, and there were lots of people in town. We had to wait a few minutes before we sat down, and it was worth the wait!
Everything we ordered was magnificent. We ordered some appetizers, salad, and a couple specials of the day, and the salmon and mushroom raviolis were outstanding. The waiter recommended a delicious bottle of wine. Such a nice dinner.
Five stars all around.
Always good food and good service here. I had the special mushroom ravioli and it was great. Cream sauce was not too heavy and the portion size was good. BF had lasagna and said it was great. Tiramisu also very good. Nice service and good wines by the glass. Reservations a must. This is a very popular spot.
