The service and the food is amazing! Love this place for date night, work dinner and or just having fun with friends!
Lovely Italian place with authentic Southern Italian food. Not just pasta but fresh fish, veal etc. Great service and an excellent value. Was warm and inviting with its fireplace blazing on a cold rainy night. Be aware parking is scarce. Otherwise a treat.
Locanda Positano has become our favorite restaurant . The food is always excellent and the staff are friendly and offer suggestions that are always perfect. We have been there with large parties for special occasions and often with just the two of us and we have never been disappointed. The dishes and the atmosphere is authentic Italian.
I love this restaurant - food and service is always great. I have a number of food intolerances, which they have previously been great about. This time the kitchen was asleep at the switch, serving me dairy-laden mashed potatoes. Would be nice if they offer fresh fruit for dessert to those who don’t eat gluten, dairy or sugar.
A nice addition to the dining scene in Lafayette. We really enjoyed the food and the service was top of the line.
Met friends for dinner. Tuesdays are no corkage so we brought a bottle per couple. Mine was a 2009 so they decanted it while we drank from the other, pre-decanted bottle. The charcuterie plate was amazingly beautiful. The other three had chipping and I had Strozzapreti. Excellent service, food, wine and friends.
Great food and service. The ambience is perfect for any occasion.
We sat at the table in an “alcove” which was semi private and loved it!
Always a great experience! Right out of Napoli !
Always good authentic Italian food. Fun place to go...has a buzz about it with good energy. Food is really good and the service outstanding.
Awesome in every aspect!!
We have eaten here many times and we always enjoy the lively and friendly atmosphere. The mostly Italian wait staff and managers are incredibly gracious and professional. The waiters have been trained well and they far surpass most waiters in local restaurants for the service they offer. The food has been consistently excellent. The pastas are homemade and the sauces are light and very flavorful. My only complaint is the high cost of cocktails.
We had a very nice round table with a beautiful blue Venetian chandelier overhead. Italian music played in the background and Italian verses decorated the mirrors. The pasta was homemade and delicious. The staff were Italian and chatted amicably with us in Italian. The tiramisu was the best we ever had. The bread and Caesar salad were just okay and could have been a bit elevated given that everything else was excellent.
Celebrating Birthdays. Great table for 8 in the side room.
The noise level is so bad you cannot carry on a conversation. You cannot hear the waiter. We had to ask him to repeat himself at least 6 times, at which point we gave up. My companion asked him about a dish and the waiter gave him directions to the restroom. It is too bad, because the food, albeit expensive, is very good. We won't go back. I was exhausted trying to yell above the noise. And it was a Wednesday at 6pm.....not a Friday or Saturday at 8pm.
Outstanding Italian food and ex"eptional service. Buon gusto!
We sat on the patio and the heat lamps were great. The food came out right away.
I always have a great meal at Locanda Positano. The food is amazing as is the service. Truly a great experience.
If was our first time visiting this restaurant. We had a delicious meal but the best part was our server Alessio. He suggested everything and we took his recommendations from the wine, appetizer, and entrees. Including the dessert. It was a very fun evening. We will definitely be back.
Able to seat us early and didn’t rush us but yet always available when we needed more. Fabulous singing for our friend’s birthday!
Service was pretty good but was harried. Food was delish.
We are in love with Locanda Positano & have referred a number of friends and business acquaintances here. It's a sweet little spot with charming Italian flair. Servers all appear to be as authentically Italian as Mama Carmella's meatballs. (a lovely appetizer served here) I give 4 stars for my last experience here on a bustling Friday night as there was an obtrusive busser who didn't seem to have a great sense of space/conversation/service yet fancied himself a wine expert. Can't quite put my finger on the issue but it was a "thing" that everyone felt.... just a lil' creepy. = (
Fabulous ..... we enjoyed everything about our evening there!
The fried calamari appetizer was nicely done. Linguini and prawns was very good and the salmon was fantastic.
My favorite Italian spot in Lamorinda. Family owned. Authentic. Warm. Food is excellent.
We have eaten at their sister restaurant in Danville but this was our first time here. For our anniversary. Delicious dinner. The wait staff were all wonderful. Highly recommend.
Salads were good. Pumpkin risotto w/prawns good but only 2prawns. Gnocchi were ok...not great. service was good. Restaurant is a bit noisy...maybe outside is quieter.
We always eat outside where it’s much quieter than inside. The only thing about outside dining is the round tables. It’s not comfortable for 4 people to eat like that as it’s a bit uncomfortable to share plates.
Charming converted house with outdoor patio. Authentic Italian fare. This visit my tortellini with Parmesan cream sauce was perfect. Decent wine/cocktail list- loved the Aperol spritz with a slice of candied blood orange. We have eaten here & at their sister restaurant Locanda Ravello in Danville several times & never have been disappointed.
Authentic Italian Cuisine. Great for small groups. Lively atmosphere.
Had a delicious Caesar salad with anchovies followed by the pasta with a Parmesan cream sauce with Italian sausages, mushrooms, and green peas that was great. Easily a repeat.
Love this place. The staff is so welcoming and make you feel special and the food is amazing!
Wonderful food. Felt like Italy.
Good food, attentive service, a bit noisy.
Such a great place for lunch or dinner. Fabulous service and great food. Napoli finest
Delicious food and great service. The waiters were all so nice, as was the hostess. We sat inside, which doesn't have as nice of an atmosphere as outside, but that was okay. It's cute, but lighting could be better. That said, the staff and food were fantastic. I had a pasta dish and they were very accommodating about modifying the recipe. It was delicious! My friends had a scallop risotto, which was also very good. Generous portions. The wine list was good with a nice mix of domestic and imports. They surprised us at the end with a lovely dessert and orangecello that was made by one of the waiters. What a treat! Will be back for sure.
We love Locanda Positano. The service is always welcoming and attentive. The food is solid. Some things are more expertly prepared than others but we're always satisfied here. Menu prices are very reasonable but they'll get you with the cocktails. For those on a budget, avoid cocktails.
It's a joy to walk in and be recognized by the servers...feels like a family you want to be a part of.
Food was delicious, service was attentive & friendly, and the outdoor seating was perfect for this warm October weather we are having!
We usually love this restaurant, however, on this night our party of three was sat at two round tables that had been pushed together and it made conversation very difficult and awkward. We were also so close to the table behind us, that we felt squished and pushed up against the tent walls. The service was good but not as friendly as usual and the food was lacking in taste. One of us had the zucchini pasta special and the appearance was very unappetizing (too brown/green and mushy). We would love to come back but are fearful as the prices are high and as we don't eat out as a family that often, we can't afford to have another mediocre experience.
