Lovely waiter and food was delish!
I love the vibe - it feels like sitting in a restaurant in Italy. The look, the fabrics, the real candles and the Italian waiters that are friendly but not pushy. Like I said: it feels like Italy. The food is great and there is a big selection of everything. We were there early and it was super quiet - nice to talk and discuss business. Once the place fills up - and it always does - it gets of course louder. Still, it was a great experience - again. Can totally recommend this restaurant.
The meal was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Food and service was very good. A little noisy.
Neighborhood gem no frills location but excellent food and service. Loved the Veal, Bolognese and Vodka pastas.
Great Italian, very small, very close tables , but food is awesome,
I have recommended this restaurant to numerous friends in the past, as we dine there several times a year when visiting Los Angeles and have always loved their food. Unfortunately, after this last experience I can no longer recommend it. While we were greeted warmly upon our arrival for our reservation, and had our order for drinks and dinner taken promptly, our waiter ignored us for the rest of the evening, while being quite solicitous to the nearby tables. The two tables of patrons on the patio who were obviously regulars were visited several times throughout their meals, asked if they were enjoying their meals, if they needed anything, if they would like more wine, etc., while we were left feeling quite invisible. Our bus person refilled our glasses and cleared our plates, but the wait staff simply ignored us until the very end when we were asked rather curtly if we would like dessert (which we declined). I cannot fathom the reason for the behavior of the wait staff - we were polite and friendly, ordered drinks, salads, and main dishes- other than we were not "local", which never seemed to be an issue in the past. I'm truly sorry to have to cross this restaurant off of my list of "go-tos" when in L.A., but I won't be going back.
We love this restaurant. We live out of town and visit each time we come to Santa Monica. The service is incredible and the food is amazing. Thanks for another memorable experience.
A local favorite. Always excellent food & service. Highly recommended.
Valentines dqy rip off Food bad Wine bad Pasta wirh meatballs $45 overcooked and soggy
Food was good but the server we had was arrogant and not attentive. We never were asked for additional drinks or condiments, nor did we bother anyone for them. Treated like we didn’t matter. Everyone running around and no one being served. Looked like a circus.
Valentines dinner was very nice but it was a limited menu with no prices and a small pasta dish cost $45!!! We were shocked to get a $300 check for two entrees and two appetizers w wine!
Had to wait too long for our order to be taken. Sea food pasta was too salty. Lamb chops were just so so.
This is a long time neighborhood Italian restaurant. Lots of regulars.
My experience is that is is vastly overpriced overrated establishment.
I took my wife there for Valentines Day. The tables are small and close together. Not very comfortable. It took a bit of time to have a waiter to come to the table. I already knew the restaurant was expensive but the food just wasn’t good. The $19 Caesar salad was the equivalent of 2 leaves of romaine. The eggplant Parmesan dish I had for $25 was not only tiny but greasy. 2 salads, 1 eggplant dish and 3 glasses of wine came to $120.
With so many great affordable Italian restaurants within a block of this place, I will certainly never return.
I love this place! Amazing food and outstanding service! I’ve been here 4 times now and will continue to go back.
Nice menu. Good service. Very expensive for what you get. Not sure I would go back.
We went for my bfs birthday, they completely missed the memo. I would have reminded them but our waiter came to wait on us once. Our drinks came after we finished the appetizer. We would have loved to stay, but the service was so awful we didn’t even have a chance to order. Honestly, ive never had worse service. I couldn’t give them my money even if I wanted to.
This is a very special, yet also wonderful neighborhood gem.
You feel as though you are in Italy with it’s wood paneling and natural candles,
Yet it is also a trattoria where one could dine everyday.
We finally tried the sea urchin pasta after 3 years!
It was sublime.
We also love the swordfish , each pasta we try, the homemade Italian meatballs
And the veal Milanese.
We could not recommend this restaurant higher.
Julian, greets you with a big smile and pays attention to all details.
Each server makes you feel as if you are dining in their home.
Had a really great time here with Jeremy. We both loved our pastas and discovered a delicious red wine. Our waiter was extremely caring, quick, and accommodating. The atmosphere oozes cozy. Definitely would love to go again! <3
Very upset with how we were treated in this restaurant
Very good food and service.
very good food and professional and attentive service despite it being very busy.
However, the prices are too high compared to similar restaurants, and the noise level made what should be a nice quiet restaurant feel like train station.
Had not been at this restaurant for many years. Had a fair dining experience previously. Reserved a table for Christmas Dinner. Some of the items on the menu were not available. Found the Salmon Carpaccio disappointing. Was seated at a small table in a private dining area. The service was spotty. Perhaps this was due to the Holiday. Will not return to this restaurant.
Made a reservation for Christmas/Birthday celebration, limited menu (too many cream type sauces) but, food we ordered was okay, down side, service was nonexistent, 15 tables, 4 waiters. We received our food fast and never saw the waiter until after the check was requested, it’s a 1 and done for Christmas reservations 👎🏼
Charming Italian restaurant. Romantic ambiance. Good for groups & families too. Food was delicious. Service attentive. Enjoyed our experience.
Amazing service and food some of best Italian in LA
Delicious quality food always.
Locanda is such a great spot! Best Italian, service and ambiance on Montana! It just gets better with every visit!
Exceptional food, service and atmosphere.
No doubt one of the best Restaurants in LA
Food was very good- fresh salads and pasta. Nice Chianti. Service was extremely slow and restaurant was not that busy.
Food is also extremely overpriced. $13 for a small single salad with only lettuce and cheese. Pasta without meat was $25.
Delicious old school with attentive serve that makes everyone feel good. Thank you for being there
we felt like a chore for our waiter. He just didn't seem interested in our table.
Great feel for a small location. Amazing food. See and bee seen place. Bezos went to eat there.
Warm, welcoming, authentic. Many regulars!
All around great experience. Food was fantastic.
The menu is pretty traditional but the execution impeccable. Our waiter was not attentive to little things like filling our wine and water glasses but the food came out hot and was fabulous.
Beautiful day to have lunch outdoors and even a parking spot was available. Great pasta special-spegetti with sea urchin. The recommended Pinot Grigio was excellent and t5he express was like one enjoys in Italy.
appetizers, 1st course (pasta), 2nd course (meat) - everything is so delicious, and we love this restaurant's high food quality and cleanness.
