Local Three Ratings and Reviews
Local Three was great! A friend and I went for the Sunday brunch buffet, and it did not disappoint! The drinks were great, the food even better, and it wasn’t crazy expensive. It’s got a really cool rustic-yet-chic vibe. The only downside I would say is it’s very difficult to find if you’ve never been before. But it’s definitely worth the hunt!
The menu had a lot of great dishes, and it is great that the ingredients are all very fresh. Overall, our experience was great, but I am giving some three stars for two reasons: 1) Two of the guests got the pork chop, and both were over cooked and dry. 2) For the price, I would expect some of the dishes to have more than just the entree. Evidently the sides are mostly a-la-carte, and I have been at too many other restaurants that for the same price, you get equivalent food with sides. One last very positive comment - the wait staff was great, and the atmosphere was very good for conversation (not too loud).
Wonderful food with a very whimsical naming scheme. Love the interior and pictures of The Jesus and The Dude from the Big Lebowski. The McDowell is a nice throw back order from Coming to America. Ordered the brussels, rabbit, popcorn and it was tasty. The popcorn was an excellent pairing with the Oatmeal stout. Entrees were the pork chop and the braised brisket stroganoff and they were delightful. The pork chops we're a perfect bite with the sweet potato mash and the cranberry sauce.
For dessert, we had the blackberry cobbler with lemon curd and it was fantastic. A nice light finish with extremely crisp citrusy flavors
We arrived almost 45 minutes late due to traffic and other circumstances but they were so accommodating and still sat us.
We ordered the pot stickers for appetizer, they were pretty good with the horseradish sauce. I didn’t like that they were fried but still good.
We had the pork chop and the flat iron steak for the main. The pork chop was cooked well, bourbon glaze was evident and tasted delicious.
The steak though was amazing. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten. It was so juicy and tender and the taste was really well seasoned.
Overall a great experience!
Though our food was mostly delicious, I was really disappointed in the bland flavors of the
butternut squash soup, though very grateful for the always yummy brussel sprouts. Our server Nick, was attentive when he was helping us, and very helpful with the wines we were served. It got busy though and I think he may have been helping more than he could handle well.
We will definitely be back!
An off night tonight. Lots of backlog, though not especially busy. Drinks were slow. Falafel appetizer was gummy. One fish entrée was room temperature at first. Nothing was offered in the delay, and I picked at my partner's plate instead. $100 bucks later. Gonna take a break from here for awhile.
Our waiter failed to notify us of last call. As a result, we missed a second go-round for food. We specifically saved certain items for the second trip. This was a HUGE disappointment, as I was introducing an out-of-town client to Local Three. The waiter tried to make it up by bringing "scraps" of what he could gather. #NotTheExperienceIWasGoingFor
The Local three has a unique location. It was a little tricky to find and it felt like we were entering a speak easy. The Local Three is located in a large multiple story building that I think is used for business during the day. We did not see anyone but a guard as we entered. Once we opened the door to the restaurant we found a lively crowd and a really cool restaurant. The staff was very good as was the food. We really enjoyed the night. Go to the Local Three. You will like it.
Great food, fantastic drinks, wonderful service and a tremendous value. Our group of five ordered 7 plates and 1 entree for a shared dining experience. We left room for desert and were not disappointed with their Snickers, Apple Tort and Pudding. Overall a fantastic experience. Note the restaurant was a bit difficult to find with limited signage outside.
I have been to this restaurant at least 20 times before. The food and servers are great. I felt like it’s important to leave a low star rating because the host staff today (10/29/17) for brunch are that bad it destroyed the entire brunch meal.
Started with her pointing her finger to me when she was on the phone. No eye contact, heavy attitude like I had done something to disturb her.
Secondly she flat out refused and then rolled her eyes when we requested a table that could accommodate someone with a broken leg.
Again food great everything else was ruined by her and that appalling attitude.
If someone wants to reach out from restaurant I’ll be happy to provide more details
As we have come to expect, Local Three provided a great dining experience. We enjoyed creative cocktails and small plates to start our dinner. The locally sourced items on the list of entrees were delightful. The dessert was delicious as well.
What we really appreciated, however, that we did not feel rushed through the courses of our meal. We opted for a 5:30 p.m. seating in order to have a leisurely dinner before a show at the Fox Theatre. Their timing was ideal. There was such sufficient time between courses that we did not feel stuffed (despite the generous portions).
Eaten here a number of times. And have always liked it. We've had special occasions in their private rooms...great! I tried a new menu item this time and was disappointed.
I like this place but the lunch menu, this time, seemed limited and dull.
I'll go back again, of course.
Not as wonderful as I had heard it would be. The crab dip was really good - lots of crab and delicious, but the “red lobster” biscuits were awful. Too compact and way too salty (and we like salt). I’m sure we just had a bad batch. The trout was ok, but not “OMG”good“ for the price. My husband thought the wings were fine, but again the price was silly for a few wings. Overall good with great vibe, but not 1st choice.
Great ambience! Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious and enjoyed the shrimp tacos. I will definitely go back again.
Strangely, I wasn't able to make a reservation for 6 people during the lunch hour but when I arrived there was plenty of tables available.
The food was great. Really cool, laid back atmosphere. The the servers had a really annoying habit of sitting a drink or something down, the just quickly walking off. We were left a number of times trying to order a drink or additional small plate for them to just turn and walk away. We’d definitely go back—but I would hope for better service.
I've always liked local three and its sister restaurants, and have been many times. This last time, however, it felt like the server was trying to up-sell my friend and I, both on the food and the wine. Everything he recommended was on the high-end of the wine list and food menu. It was a turn-off. Then another waiter accidentally took away our bottle of wine that had been chilling in a bucket. The service overall was disappointing.
Local Three makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We had not been to Local Three for several years and it was nice to discover that the restaurant didn't seem to be on cruise control but rather was just as enthusiastic and innovative as it was when we first dined there. Our server was responsive and provided us with good insight into the menu options.
We were very disappointed with the new menu. Service was very attentive and friendly but the new items were generally lacking flavor. at least the crispy brussel sprouts were still good. Patio is great but the psychedlic, beer joint type of umbrellas really don't fit the scene.
