Our roots are deeply embedded in the lush farmlands of Southwest Virginia. They are nourished by modern-day farmers who employ age-old techniques, hard-working heroes who nurture not only the people, but the land as well. We've gotten to know these local farmers and are better for it. They help us keep time with the rhythms of the seasons. Be sure to order the mussels -- the best we have ever had -- crusty bread for the silky-smooth sauce and extraordinary bacon. But all of the flavors are complementary, from the light, flaky flounder to the vertical pork shop -- prepare to be delighted by wonderful food presented in an unpretentious and friendly environment.

We get together with our friends once a year as they pass through toward sunny Florida and this was the perfect choice for a quiet location for conversation over unique food choices that were quite delicious. We were very pleased at the dessert choices as well, thank you! :)

My friend and I got together for a "girlfriend lunch" which we have not done in a long time. Our time could not have been better. Our server was fantastic and I am sorry I don't remember her name. She was very attentive and made sure to focus on the details. The lunch menu is limited, but we found something we both enjoyed. We were not rushed and the food was very hot and tasty. I had red beans and rice and my friend had the beef tips with pasta and mushrooms. I am glad they have reopened for lunch. What a perfect afternoon.

Very relaxing atmosphere with a real pianist providing great music. We don't eat much so my wife had a salad and I had 6 oysters. Then we shared the cartucheroe..(sp). It's was perfect,provided a great selection of nibbles and variety. Wine was great and reasonably priced. This is a great way to combine food and the grandin theatre

Pork shank was tough and under cooked. Chef had a heavy hand with the salt on the NY Strip. The bill was incorrect once it arrived at the table. Overall a very poor experience.

Our server Jocelyn was amazing, very uplifting and delightful. The wine she recommended was the perfect complement to dinner. The fried green tomato appetizer was the best I had ever had and I order fried green tomatoes whenever a restaurant has them on the menu. The pimento cheese was the perfect complement to the tomato. My main dish was mussels and they were all open, tender, and delicious in an exquisite broth. My husband had the cheese and charcuterie platter and he ate almost all of it and he is notorious for leaving most of his food untouched. He and I shared homemade buttermilk vanilla ice cream and I had delight strong French press coffee. Wonderful place to celebrate his birthday! This restaurant does not disappoint.

Great food. The menu is a bit limited due to the nature of the locally sourced format. Limited options for gluten-free desserts. Overall, though would recommend this restaurant, just check the menu for the night you are going to see if it can accommodate your needs.

The food was generally good and the atmosphere inviting, but the price was simply too much for several of the offerings. Several of the mains were well proportioned according to price, but the meagre side salad was $15. That would be steep in Washington D.C... in Roanoke it's outrageous.

Cindy waitress top notch, hostess never mentioned his name and his character remained the same thru out the night let's keep it at that! Food delicious I had mussels wife had pasta and oysters. We stumbled upon passing thru on vacation. Would definitely recommend.

Great food, terrible service. Very friendly server but was incredibly inattentive. We had to go to the bar to get drinks, we’re served by other people, and never checked in on our food until e she brought the check. I’d like to think she was busy, but we never saw her on the floor checking or serving other tables, either.

Thoroughly enjoyed every dish! The service was fantastic and the ambiance was perfect for a farm to table restaurant! The oysters and redfish were both incredible, but the mussels were out of this world fantastic!!!!!

It was a wonderful experience. Most Everything was delicious. The pound cake on the dessert menu was too dry, However, I would definitely go back. The ambience was tranquil and the noise level low. The service was excellent.

My girlfriend and I had a great dinner. She enjoyed a new Italian white wine and they made an extra effort to provide high quality non-alcoholic beer for me. Our waitress Cindy was terrific.

We reserved a table for a birthday dinner for my dad, and had such a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding - presentation, taste, and temperature. The scallops were the star of the show for me personally, but the steak and chanterelle mushroom appetizer gave it a run for its money! We will definitely be back.
