Our roots are deeply embedded in the lush farmlands of Southwest Virginia. It took longer than normal to get our dinner but the staff realized this and addessed in a manner that was more than fair. They turned what could had been a negative experience into a pleasurable one. Me and my wife always enjoy eating here and will definitely be back.

Had an incredible meal here, from starter to entree to dessert to drinks. And the service was excellent -- attentive and friendly. Special shoutout to Coral for being such a wonderful server. A real gem!

Good! Service is southern so a little slow but everyone is nice! They have a fan over their entry door that sometimes gets stuck on which is a bit of a noise issue for tables near the front. The food and beverages are good!

Good food, not great but worth it. The fresh squeezed juice tasted like it was fresh the night before not that morning. Their bacon is good but a salt bomb, I’m an aggressive salter and it was a lot. Excellent sausage gravy and good French toast, solid burger and great home fries. I would suggest doing like a table shareable like mini cinnamon rolls or biscuits and jam to hold off until food arrives.

Food was great. Waiting staff was excellent. However, food should come with complementary bread or sharable of some kind for the price you are paying. Especially during busy hours and food could take a while.

Outstanding quality and service. We shared a butter board and cheese plate pre meal that had a selection of freshly made breads, specialty butters, and locally crafted cheeses. Our dinner was cooked and plated to perfection. The combination of flavor and texture was amazing.

What a special restaurant! We are visiting from out of town and found this treasure. A fabulous server named Cindy was terrific! We enjoyed fresh oysters, smoked chicken barbecue, pot roast and fettuccine. A delicious apple bread pudding dessert finished our evening. Almost forgot, great margaritas!! We will be back.

Sat between the bar. Had people walking behind squeezing by the entire time bumping seat. Basically got the worst seat in the place. Probably would enjoy more at a different table. Food was good. Service was fine. Would come back and sit somewhere else

After a little delay in getting waited on , which the server apologized for, service was much better. We both ordered the redfish which turned out to be some of the best we have ever had. The kale and grit soufflé was an excellent pairing. Will definitely keep an eye out for it on the menu again.

My first time and I had a wonderful meal based on the recommendation of the fabulous server. The shrimp toast was amazing - flavorful, sweet with a nice after burn of heat. The trout was very good on Carolina rice. The bread pudding was yummy - nice soft, gooey texture with the right amount of caramel sauce - not overly sweet. Next time in Roanoke - I will be back.

We made a reservation for 11 am for brunch on Sunday for an important occasion. When we got there the door was open, it was dark inside and no one was there! Another man with reservations said he smelled gas so he called the police. We never heard what happened but we had to call our guest and quickly find somewhere else to have brunch. I wish someone would have atheist cashed to let us know what had happened. We were so looking forward to our brunch there.

The service was really bad. We were ignored by the waitress. For about 20 minutes after being seated. She forgot about it our second round of drinks (just a beer and a wine) and then blamed it on the bar tender. At the end she forgot to both take and drop off our check as well, and had a lot of excuses for that too. The restaurant was not busy by then 🤷🏽‍♂️ The food was great though.

Upon walking in you feel a cool and cozy vibe. Friendly and attentive service. Food was fabulous!! The lemon cake with buttercream hibiscus icing is well worth it and totally shareable.

Excellent Sunday brunch menu! Our group enjoyed every bite and the wonderful drinks. Really enjoyed the "jazzed up" coffee! Good service and really fun surroundings/decor. Highly recommend. Glad that someone who had been told me to make a reservation several weeks in advance of my trip to Roanoke.

I love Local Roots! But unlike our last visit New Year’s Eve, this one was loud and crowded. Not the Valentines dinner I was aiming for. The service was good but wait staff was stretched across the room, which meant delays in service as we noticed others looking around for staff. One recommendation for the noise is to turn down the music and add sound baffles. Swordfish was great! Beets were a bold choice.

We were looking for healthy menu choices, Local Roots has several good choices but wish there were more leafy greens/salad choices. Wine menu is limited for Cabernet Sauvignon selections but overall the quality of food is good.
