Had brunch there! The shrimp and grits were RIDICULOUSLY YUMMY! The chicken was good, but the waffle was too dense and chewy, but still good. Some people might like it like that.

A reservation was made to the restaurant. An email confirmation was sent and accepted. The business never canceled, nor a courtesy call, as to why it was closed, and not open upon our arrival. This is not good business.

Delicious food and cool, relaxed vibe make LoCal totally worth the trip. It’s right around the corner from Chesapeake Shakespeare Co on Calvert so it’s perfect for a pre-theater dinner. My friend & I got the grilled octopus salad and then Shrimp & Grits and Pork & Beans. All of it was superb. I will definitely go back.

Food was deceptively good. Place looked old and a bit outdated. Almost like a familiar hole- in the wall that you’ve grown fond off. Waitress was nice and courteous. Food was good, although I would stay away from the seafood
