Great place on the water! Cool band and huge outdoor deck with lots of space. Food was really good and service was great. Fun time!
Best place on the waterway- you can drink, dine, dance, and dock!! Just love it! Been coming here in the past for years, and so glad Local on the Water is stepping it up! "We locals LOVE Local!"
On family vacation with 2 teens and this place was perfect!! Live music. Plenty of outdoor seating. Wide variety of food and beverage plus swings, corn hole and fire pits where you would spread out.
Great staff, great service and of course great performance by the band “Jim Quick and Coastline band”
We hope to come back again soon!
This was our first time dining at LOCAL. The atmosphere was amazing for a date night - probably not so much for a family night though. The concert was super fun and the food was tasty also!
Food was very good. Adult beverage extremely expensive. Service not very good.
Table for 6, outside but under cover.
We were seated immediately in an excellent location. Outside with a clear view of the bandstand and under cover for Pete toon from sun and storm.
Oysters were fresh and tasty with nice side of spicy cocktail sauce and individual Tabasco bottle.
Nice interpretation of Lobster roll instead of mayonnaise a very tasty vinaigrette and generous portion of lobster meat CHUNKS.
Great spacing given the COVID outbreak and servers wore masks.
People waiting when we left around 7:30 PM were crowded in entrance mostly without masks.
Threatening storms delayed the band that was scheduled to play at 7 PM.
We’ll be back.
Very few staff wearing masks. Very disappointing. If we were not eating outside I would have left but we drove 20 minutes to get there.
The ambiance was great with live music right on the sound! Busy, but well managed. Nachos & wings were very good.
Kristen was an excellent server and was very pleasant and accommodating. Overall, a great location and environment. The apps were good but the entrees were just okay.
Not good from beginning to end. Service was slow and forgetful... food was not good. Sorry but there are so many very good restaurants in Myrtle Beach to ever go back to this one. The location and atmosphere is great and it looked like the band was getting ready to play. Outside seating was very good. If you want somewhere to go and hang out with bad food, this is your place.
We were so excited to try this place. We went for my birthday. The food was not as great as we thought. The prices were a bit high for the servings you were given. The alcohol was high compared to restaurants around. $4.50 for a bud light is a bit much. Our waiter was amazing. I can’t say enough about him. Just over all was disappointed with the experience
Great spot when they have live music. Multiple bars, sand and fire pit area. Nice outdoor areas.
Our waitress Shawn was great but the food was horrible. We had 7 people & everything was bad. Could never recommend this place for dinner. Just drinks. We ordered crab dip - no flavor. Burger was awful. Mac & Cheese awful. Filet tip salad - meat was grisly. Grouper fingers greasy. Onion straws were not straws. They were globs of breading & grease. We sent several things back. Nothing was fresh. Disgusting.
What a disappointment. First off... absolutely no compliance to any vivid guidelines. Hostess, servers no masks. No social distance. Service was pretty bad, food was average at best (had to fight off the bugs) and the price was way too high. Probably would not revisit.
Horrible. Over an hour to get a drink. The food was tasteless. We just sat at our table from 7.45-9.00 pm with out any food or a drink.
Every single table was full. So much for social distancing. No one wore masks. Absolutely no one. The tables were next to each other with barely any space.
Would not return and recommend people to stay away. Spend your money and time somewhere else.
Food was amazing. Staff was incredibly friendly and competent. Ambiance is absolutely fantastic.
Great service and great food! Our waitress - Dani - was very attentive. I highly recommend the crab dip!!!
The food was disappointing. Especially the Rueben !!
We stumbled upon Local on the Water by accident on Open Table. We are so thankful we did! This will be a staple in our dining out rotation! The food was FANTASTIC, service was exceptional, and the restaurant and view were amazing! Highly recommended!
My husband’s burger was burnt and I mean BLACK!
When my burger came out I asked for mayo/ketchup never got it. Margarita was $10. It was very very watery and had no lime taste. Watered down liquor
Service was average. We asked to sit on the patio but was put in the sun. Due to “social distancing” had to stay put. Manager did take off price of the burnt burger, as she should have. I am local and was hoping for a much better experience
We have just finished a 14 day vacation in Myrtle Beach. Visiting a different restaurant every evening . Our last night we reserved Local on the water.... Huge Mistake . It started off with an extremely rude hostess who had previously been informed we would like 2 tables of 6 near each other . She firmly informed us to sit where she said or leave !
Finally a waitress came and seated us at a table for 12 . Service was horrendous , it took over 1/2 hour to get drinks served to the entire table .another 35 minutes to take the order for appetizers! She did not take another drink order until our appetizers were served Causing us to get our own drinks from the bar . My nephew had reviewed the pictures on their webSite and it showed an amazing Bloody Mary , when it was served it looked like a glass of tomato juice. The waitress said they had no control over the website because the restaurant was now under new management.
We had a 7 pm reservation , we checked out at 9:50 ( the bar closed at 9:30) noone received their dinners at the same time , there was actually a 40 minute delay between entree 1 and the last entree . Absolutely unreasonable!!!
As home owners in the area we will NEVER bring guests back . I can honestly say this is the first time we have had such an embarrassing and uncomfortable dining experience in the area .
Save your $$$ & Time .
Overall it’s was really good. The host and hostess were all weary no masks and online you mentioned sanitizer at tables. Our server and others were not wearing masks. Isn’t that the ordinance in North Myrtle beach? Based on what was listed online vs reality was very different. I actually was concerned.
It was amazing, it’s our go to date night at the beach place
We had a trainee handle our table, who was very friendly and was trying her best. But the service was very slow, food orders were wrong, never got a 2nd drink since I waited forever for a draft beer list which never came. And asked to see the manager who never came to the table. Nothing comped either.
If you’re going here for drinks and live music, probably a great place. But for family dinner, try another place. It’s mainly apps and sandwiches and very limited seafood selection. I think it’s more of a drinking place. But nice setting and tons of seating.
We are locals - this place was awesome when it first opened, but the service and food has declined. The staff in general are grumpy and look miserable with smirks on their faces. We have given so many chances, but NEVER again. It was minimally busy- took 15 minutes to get our drinks, which were ice waters and tea. The food took exactly 53 minutes to arrive to our table and none of the dishes were even hot. It was like someone forgot to bring our food out. After we ate, it took the server another 1/2 hour to bring our bill. Our screaming baby and the fact we were all standing up ready to leave should have given the server the idea to expedite our bill as we were CLEARLY ready. Anyway, our reservation was at 6:45 and we didn’t walk out the door until 9:10. Unacceptable for a Wed night with hardly anyone there!
Waited an hour still no food. We keft
We had a good experience here. Our waitress was very nice. We waited a little longer than usual for our food but when food came it was delicious. This bothered some diners but we had a drink and listened to the live music. They clearly had some staffing issues but I believe it’s new ownership and that happens sometimes. Overall it’s a nice place to have dinner and relax.
Fantastic and great waitress!
We arrived on time. Where seated and greeted by two personnel. One without a mask and one with there mask around her neck. I asked if they where not supposed to have masks on and was promptly advised by the wait staff that they did not need to have a mask. We immediately left the property. We probably will not go back.
Had the Open Faced Turkey sandwich. The smoked turkey was a bit of a surprise, but was fantastic and nicely balanced by the egg and pesto. Highly recommend! And the view of the Intracoastal was awesome! Can't wait for the warmer weather when they can open the doors and offer outdoor seating! Definitely will be back!
I’ve this restaurant but noise level was off the charts.
Was not sat in area requested as reservation stated. And there were plenty of tables. Stuck way in back of place so service was slow at times. But food was good. Tiny glass for wine was a joke.
Great view, Great service and wonderful food
Food was good. Service was fair. Nice location. Live music
Good waterfront dining with live music. Food was served hot.
Great place on the Intracoastal! Lots of outdoor seating! Had live music on Saturday. A little hard to talk over, but a great set from Matt Parker and the Deacons! Can't wait for the weather to warm up so they can open the doors to the water! Great food and an awesome craft beer list!
Birthday celebrations for Som in law
Great appetizer and drinks place. Can’t wait until spring and summer to be outside with live music.
We were a little disappointed in the raw bar menu. Only raw offering was oysters. Peel and eat shrimp and shrimp cocktail are not raw bar.
