Local on North - Duluth
We had gone to meet up with friends. Our food was excellent. Our waiter was awesome had a great personality and gave us time to enjoy our company.
Food was tasty but the flies ! You cant have all the garage doors open and not have the air curtains running. Also the goat cheese starter needs bread.
Local on North is awesome. The food, staff and atmosphere is excellent They are open and friendly, go visit soon.
Staff was friendly and received prompt attention. Food and drinks were amazing! Staff did not rush us after closing. I wish the open table hours and google hours were updated, as we would not have arrived near closing time.
Great experience, so glad to be back. Staff were great, so good to see them again
Just want to say a huge THANK YOU to Local on North for having the guts to open in the midst of all this.
The restaurant was awesome, the food was delicious (especially the Fried Goat Cheese Croquette) and the service was top-notch! I will definitely be back.
I have reviewed this restaurant several times but thought I would post a review after the reopening since the shelter in place ended.
The restaurant has removed many tables to make sure social distancing is maintained. The servers and kitchen staff are wearing masks and gloves. Both times we have been, the garage door was open to allow more air flow. The food is just as amazing as it has always been. Service is a little slower but totally understandable. There has only been one server there both times we went. I am sure this is because they don’t know how many people will come in to dine right now. Please be patient and tip well! Request to the owner...put the pork tenderloin, with blue cheese mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts on the menu permanently! Absolutely delicious!
Went there for Mother's Day and everything was excellent.
Got take out due to COVIF-19. Food was good, staff very friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to eating in the restaurant in the future.
Very attentive and food was great!
First time there. Pork chop was good and the Blue Cheese burger was fantastic.
Great service for a busy Saturday night; great recommendations on the cocktails before dinner as I wanted to try something different. LOVED the sweet ? with pears and walnuts I believe? salad; my French Onion Soup loving Partner was skeptical about the specilaized preperation but he loved it as something different. We shared the Fugeddaboutit (sp?) pizza. It was good. We happen to have one particular restaurant where we think no one can beat their pizza so we are rather picky on this front. DEF will go back to try other entrees!
Birthday dinner with friends and pre- concert at red clay. Great food!
Love the location. The food was expensive, the pizza only fair. The service was great.
Great service, food was exceptional, soup was fantastic
Food was great, but was quite loud
Cozy restaurant with great food and great service
We had a 9:30 reservation. We stood at the door for 10 minutes and no one even acknowlege it us. So we walked out and spent our money somewhere else.
This was our first Valentine’s Day as man and wife and wanted to try something new. The online menu looked pretty good and I was very hopeful and in the mood for a nice charcuterie board and the muscles sounded yummy. When getting there and after being seated we found out they had a fixed menu for Valentines. Once I got over the fact that I had my mind set on something, we made our choices. The one thing that I wanted the most was oysters and they were already out of them and it was before 8 o’clock. Next, the steak sounded good, but they only had New York strip rather than the ribeye that was on their menu. I don’t like New York strip. So, we ordered and I was ensured their mahi mahi would not be overcooked. It was. So, we get through our meal and onto dessert which was the only one they offered that night. The flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. And guess what? They were out of ice cream. I laughed and told my husband, the flourless chocolate cake was because they were out of flour. I would’ve expected they at least comp one of our drinks or even the coffee, but they did not. The only saving grace was the onion soup and Jake, the waiter, who was fantastic. Not so memorable of a dinner that was over 200.00.
Valentines Day - very busy and a little loud.
Server and service were great. Select menu for the holiday - which was fine. Overall a good experience, did feel a little rushed. Will try again on a normal night.
First time to eat at this restaurant. Ate early for dinner and sat at bar. Place became crowded by the time we left.
My cheeseburger was best I’ve had in long time.. the chicken parm was just average.. Server was little too pushy taking order, we like to take our time look over menu as for this was our first time eating here.. overall good experience..
We keep coming back to Local on North. The Tuna burger is amazing. We also had the mussels in a light cream sauce which was delicious and came with 3 good sized pieces of grill baguette. It all went nicely with a very nice sparkling rose. The staff is always super attentive and friendly and the prices are not bad. Can't go wrong!
Three words- Fried Chocolate Cake! Oh my goodness. Service was awesome, Jake was our waiter and we loved him. Entrees and drinks were well worth the price. Only thing to be reminded of is limited part. Otherwise... see this place SOON!!!
I ordered shrimp tacos accidentally (listening to the conversation at the table) when it arrived and I took my first bite, I realized I made a mistake and asked to change (stating I would pay for my mistake). The staff not only replaced my whole meal, gave me a Togo box for the shrimp tacos and didn’t charge me for them. Service is above and beyond!!! Wow! Food delicious 😋
Dinner for six with three generations represented where everyone enjoyed something different that was exceptionally tasty. The manager and staff were delightful, when they heard we were celebrating a birthday they surprised up with a creme brulee and candle. Unique cocktails, great mix of entree options, something for everyone, will definitely be back!
Menu is creative and the food delicious. We celebrated a birthday there and they handled the table and the group effortlessly
The goat cheese croquette was awesome. Its on the regular menu, and I highly recommend it. The service was great too.
Always delicious. Menu has plenty of options that should appeal to a variety of tastes. And Manager Ryan does a great job in keeping things running smoothly.
Went for lunch with friends for a birthday. Food was yummy! Very large portions, great specials & excellent taste. Ryan (sommelier) was very helpful with wine recommendations and our server, Susan was knowledgeable on the menu & went the extra mile with a birthday dessert.
We love it! Manager is always engaging and the food is really good!
This has become our favorite neighborhood restaurant. My husband started his dinner with the soup of the day which was cream of broccoli truffle soup. After having a taste of his, I requested one for myself. Amazing! So full of flavor. My husband chose the Ahi tuna burger and fries and I had the roasted chicken in a lemon beurre blanc sauce. If I could live inside the sauce of the chicken, I would be happy forever swimming around tasting the amazing sauce. My husband’s burger was as equally delicious. Again, and I’ve written this a few times, I only wish the would put something on the ceiling to cut the noise. For such a small restaurant, because the ceilings are so high, it gets quite loud. However, the service and delicious food help cut that out.
Tried for the first time on a Sunday evening. There were not a lot of patrons but the food was great. I would say it’s a little pricey for Duluth, but I would go back and try their lunch menu.
Another good experience here. Food was very good, specials were excellent. This is the second time we’ve had service that fell just a bit short. Apps and entrees came out back to back and server didn’t hear us (or ignored us) when we asked not to have them so fast... we just went ahead and ate but better timing would be nice.
Always fantastic. Best wings in town. Love the wood fired pizza. Fish and chicken dishes are cooked to perfection.
We went on New Years Eve. The food was delicious. Generous portions, including the lamb shank. Service was excellent for such a busy night. Can’t wait to go back.
Our food was very good! I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer and a side of fries. It was excellent, but too small. Usually an appetizer is something to share, but no way could this have been shared. I wish they had Bang Bang Shrimp as a dinner option. It was excellent!
Food was wonderful, service was great but it was a little loud (not too bad) and slightly cramped.
Cute small space located in Duluth square has potential but is missing something. Service is a little unsure at the table. Goat cheese starter with no bread? $12 ceasar? lamb shank tasted ok but fridge cold at the bone, Airline chicken with soggy skin...just missing the basics I think.
Food and cocktails were amazing. Buyer beware-sharing a dish will cost an added $12. While I understand and agree with the reason, just know this is a rule. It’s on the menu but not obvious. I had a fish with orzo and bok choi that was out of this world. My husband had the steak frites and devoured it. (Had enough to take home for steak and eggs the next morning.) We will be back!
