Moonee Ponds Local Chook is a favourite among locals for its imaginative/fusion take on Vietnamese cuisine, served in a modern restaurant.
For starters, the Bao Buns are sensational selections. Some of Local Chook’s specialty/popular dishes include the Red Chicken Curry and Twice cooked scotch fillet in plum sauce, as well as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes.

    Everything about Local Chook hit's all the right notes. There are plenty of staff and they are all friendly and proactively attentive. The food is all really nicely presented and comes in a reasonable amount of time, even when it's busy - which is all the time it seems. I pass it about 3 evenings a week and it is always humming. There is a really nice ambiance and the décor is bright and look great. This is my new favourite place in Moonee Ponds.

    The place is very pretty and bright but the food was not the best , The mixed entree felt like it was brought in frozen and not made fresh , the fried rice was pinkish in colour with no veggie in it other than a few small prawns. The people were nice but had to ask for a glass for my can of drink and also ask for cutlery as not everyone can use chop sticks, I have had fresher and tastier food at other places in Moonee Ponds, was very disappointed.

    Great food and a slice of Vietnam with the bustling crowd and vibrancy. A local favourite and also BYO. Excellent value.

    Very tasty. Perhaps more chicken required in the Grilled Vietnamese Chicken salad to make it more value for money. The Sizzling Tangy Chicken on the menu was super yummy.

    Food was absolutely delicious. Plus a full menu but still had great amount of dedicated vegan food. Loved it. Friendly staff.
