The open table app allowed for us to choose a reservation time so we had no reason to believe there would be problems. Upon arriving the place was set up for major St. Patrick’s day bar crawl (mind you - 2 weeks before the holiday). There was no one working in the front except contracted security checking IDs and there were signs saying “just find somewhere to sit” or “seat yourself” but it was packed and loud and clearly not taking reservations. We left because there was no one in sight to even speak to and we weren’t looking to eat there anyway considering the overcrowded space and sloppy drunks everywhere. It was disappointing to say the least.
This is a typical, Southside college/sports bar. Since they had open table reservations, I expected a little more. When we arrived, there was no table taken - only the bar. Our waitress was not very enthused and when we were making up our mind on drinks she walked away rather than waited. She got friendlier as our stay came to an end (for a better tip?). The food was fine - nothing special. We were there because of a concert at Club Café. We will not be back and will find another place (like Dish) the next time.
Mimosas were made with sweet champagne and there was no option for anything else. We sat on the deck where they had heaters blasting with smelly chemicals when it was a gorgeous, sunny, fall day. They would not lower the heat levels so it became excessively warm and uncomfortable. The food was just okay, nothing special at all... Likely would not recommend to a friend, at least for brunch.
I've been here before and it's been fine. This time, however, was horrible. Reservation was for 1pm. Finally at 1:30, I had to wave at someone to ask if we even had a waitress. We ordered brunch food, eggs. All told we were there 2 and half hours. Food didn't arrive until an hour and a half after ordering. Food was already cold, bill was wrong, just an all around fiasco.
Over cooked and under cooked cold food. Poor service. The bloody Mary was good though.
This was my first time dining here for lunch. Food was average, good but nothing noteworthy. Waitress was pleasant but not very helpful or well informed about the menu. I would visit again however it wouldn't be my first choice.
First time there it was really great. We were lucky and got a chance to sit upstairs and enjoy the nice weather.
Local Bar & Kitchen was very trendy and fun. It was recommended to us by a friend and I would definitely go back! We went for brunch and while my sandwich was good, the presentation was messy and I was given significantly less breakfast potatoes than the other people in my party. Other than that, it was good food for a good price and the upstairs deck was fun and cute!
Everyone was kind, loved the atmosphere but waited almost an hour for our food and the appetizer was delivered at the same time as our meals. The waitress was attentive and did apologize.
Not a great place for brunch. Food was expensive and not very good! Great place for drinks!
We were seated in the front table of the restaurant located next to the large windows, it was a 45 degree day and they were wide open. We requested our waitress to close the windows and she did. However, the bartender (who was very rude) came over and told the waitress the heat was on and it was too hot on the other end of the restaurant so they needed to remain open. We were back to freezing and the table next to us was also complaining and had to put their coats back on.
We ordered 2 dips and meals, which took 55 minutes to come out. The dip appetizers were served with the food, only one of which came out. The food was cold, specifically the eggs for brunch were so cold that the cheese didn’t even melt. A steak knife was not provided with the steak and eggs which made it difficult to eat. The second dip was never brought so we requested them to take it off the bill and forget about it (as they clearly did.)
We asked to speak with a manager as this was just the experience from hell. Our waitress tried to get him to come over, however he apparently told her that he didn’t want to deal with it and sent over another manager on duty. We complained about the above regarding the service, food, and the overall attitude of the bartender regarding the windows. The manager listened and discounted our meals, however we will definitely not be back and to top it off the waitress was so frustrated she quit!!
