About Local 92
Local 92 is a unique gem tucked away in NYC’s East Village, serving and specializing in fresh, locally sourced Israeli dishes. Not only do we love visiting the farmers’ market, but we also support New York breweries and vineyards, always searching for ways to improve our dishes and our guests’ dining experience with us. All of our extra food is donated to those in need and we regularly lend a hand (and our hearts) to a nearby animal shelter. We share our home and heritage with the East Village and most of our dishes are based on family recipes, passed down through the generations. Our hummus is prepared every two hours and all of our dishes are high in Vitamin C, B6, Potassium, and Manganese. Whether you’re a meat lover, a vegan, or a vegetarian you are sure to find something you’ll love in our rustic & unique restaurant that we call home. Mazel tov! Local 92 Ratings and Reviews
Food is superb at this Greenwich Village Mediterranean restaurant. We started with appetizers for the table (4 of us), and each was excellent, calamari to meatballs to artichokes, hummus and more. We then split 2 entrees amongst ourselves- Wow! What a meal!!
Local 92 has become an essential for me when I go to the East Village. Their happy hour menu is amazing, wish it ended at 8pm! They have many different tapas style Israeli appetizers for about $5 each, and are well worth the price. Love it here. Waiter could have been a bit more friendly this time; last time the waiters and service was amazing!
I LOVED this place. I had the falafel platter and the aperol spritzer and enjoyed both.
Great food, cute decor, wonderful ambiance, good service, reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back for dates and friends dinners, it's a versatile place that could fit any occasion!
Was seeing a show in the area and wanted something close by that wasn't a pub or Italian. Found this little gem on the google maps neighborhood suggestions and checked it out on Yelp. I am always skeptical of Yelp after several very disappointing experiences but this was spot on. Everything was delicious but what stood out was the lamb tagine special and the tiramisu dessert. If you like tiramisu and it's available, don't pass on this one, it was so so perfectly balanced and created with care. While not being a cheap dinner, it wasn't expensive with especially considering the freshness and quality of the food. It came out to about 55/pp with appetizers, dinner, one dessert, and drinks.
I really like this spot's ambiance - it's charming, warm and cozy. Went on a Wednesday after work with a group of friends and we shared small plates and appetizers which is great, as I get to try more flavors this way! I love Mediterranean dips, and the hummus and babaganoush were delish. We also took advantage of the happy hour sangria...also very tasty! Quiet enough to have conversations. I will definitely return.
Had never heard of this place prior to finding it on OpenTable.com. Made a lunch reservation to meet a friend here and was super happy with my decision. The server was very friendly and accommodating (super cute too) and the food was delicious. At first I was concerned that the portion size of the Gnocchi I had ordered was too small to satisfy my appetite (looked more like an appetizer then a main course) but it was so light, fluffy and yummy that I asked for bread to sop up the oil that it was in.
I've been here 3 times now and am such a fan of this restaurant. Great dinner options (I prefer to order a few small plates & appetizers to share with friends tapas style). The ambiance is fun and the employees are all extremely pleasant. Highly recommend done artichoke and kale plate!
We had a big group including vegetarians, carnivores, kids, foodies, a milk allergy and a nut allergy. EVERYONE found something they liked. To me the standout was the hummus -- creamy and amazing. The falafel and whole branzino also earned huge kudos. My only quibble was an odd lack of plates, food coming out at all different times, and a slightly put-upon waiter who all but eye-rolled when asked for extra pita.
Service was quick and attentive. Food came out quickly. Hummus (classic) was really good. We ordered mostly off the specials menu for other appetizers and mains. Outdoor sidewalk seating.
The furniture was casual, and the metal chairs were not super comfortable.
Loved this bar/restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Menu different to other places with hummus a speciality and made on the premises. We tried it as a starter, delicious. Good range of cocktails and the hanger steak was fabulous. Great atmosphere inside and on the street and surrounded by quirky shops. Would love to go back daytime for lunch and explore the area.
The host happily seated us outside as we'd requested. I definitely recommend this, as we really enjoying sitting outside at our cozy two-top watching all of the people passing by on busy Second Avenue. There are a ton of places right along this stretch, so I don't necessarily know if this is the best destination food-wise, but the overall atmosphere was lively and great for a casual Saturday night. The wine was mediocre, but we quaffed it anyway. We ordered the Mozzarella Basket despite initial misgivings, but two employees recommended it, and it WAS great! Veggies and warm, lightly fried mozzarella in a glaze that tasted vaguely Japanese (with soy). It was great. Also, I HIGHLY recommend trying the lamb shank entree if you enjoy lamb. The meat was perfectly tender, and all of the flavors came together in a deliciously satisfying way. The octopus was meh. I have forgotten what else we ate, so I suppose it wasn't memorable.
I love its location and they have great outdoor seating come spring, but the food seems to be an afterthought. Hummus and pita bread is fantastic, but bigger dishes disappoint. stale sliders, droopy asparagus, rubbery calamari... and the service was terrible. A man who brought EVERYTHING together (a total pet peeve) so that most gets cold, and no room on the table..and when dishes went back not eaten, he didn't seemed concerned at all. nice decor though.
